“Dr. Who” star Karen Gillan has shared the first ever still from Oculus, FilmDistrict’s newest horror tale from Absentia’s Mike Flanagan.

Two More Look Into the Horrific Mirror Of ‘Oculus’

Australian actor Brenton Thwaites (pictured) has signed on for the lead role in Intrepid Pictures’ horror vehicle Oculus Variety reports.

Rory Cochrane has also joined the cast of the pic, whic has started shooting near Mobile, Ala. Thwaites stars opposite Karen Gillan and Katee Sackhoff. Annalise Basso and Garrett Ryan are also in the cast as the younger versions of the lead characters along with James Lafferty and Miguel Sandoval.

Oculus is directed by Mike Flanagan (Absentia) from a script he co-wrote with Jeff Howard.

‘Oculus’ tells the story of two young children who became orphans ten years ago after a horrifying family incident. Although authorities charged the boy with the murder, his sister believes that the true culprit was a powerful antique mirror.

FilmDistrict is handling U.S. distribution and international sales are being handled by Focus Features International.
