There’s no denying that Scott Snyder is one of the best writers in comics today. He’s able to take classic heroes, and rejuvenate them with fresh twists and turns, and such is exactly what a character like Swamp Thing needs. With “Rotworld”, Snyder helped to define exactly what DC’s Dark Universe is all about. Although Snyder departed from “Swamp Thing” earlier this year, his run was nothing short of epic, expanding the mythology of the character an paving the way for Charles Soule’s current work. Hitting shops on November 13th, is “Swamp Thing Vol. 3: Rotworld: The Green Kingdom”. Take a look at your exclusive preview below. READ MORE
Matt Kindt has established himself as an indie cartoonist, known for his existential, gutsy espionage comics like “Mind MGMT” and “Super Spy”. However, Kindt recently took over writing duties from Jeff Lemire on Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. from DC Comics. “Frankenstein” was one of those books that readers wrote off when the solicitations were first announced for the New 52, but it has since become one of the quirkiest titles in their catalog.
Starting this week with issue #13, Kindt brings Frankenstein into the Animal Man/Swamp Thing crossover event, “Rotworld”. Kindt and artist Alberto Ponticelli place Frank right in the midst of the action for an all out battle against disgusting Rot-monsters. Kindt took the time to chat with BD about the upcoming crossover, his experience writing for DC, and his plans for the future of “Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E.” READ MORE

We’ve pretty much been waiting for Rotworld since the New 52 began – part of me feels the #0 issue month was a way for DC to make sure the The Swamp Thing/Animal Man crossover landed during Halloween month. This is the first time Snyder and Lemire are partnering for a big event. It will be interesting to see what characters Snyder and Lemire choose to bring back from the “Swamp Thing” mythos, as the covers already show Deadman and Poison Ivy, which is reminiscent of Alan Moore’s famous Annual issues from back in the day. But I won’t waste your time any longer, just thought I’d leave you a reminder so as not to miss out on the event. It all starts tomorrow, October 3rd. READ MORE
