Santa Claus Visits Century Media Records: Things Don’t Go Exactly To Plan

Century Media Records is one of my favorite record labels out there. Many of their artists were the first real metal bands that I got into when I started branching out from mainstream rock bands into the more underground options. So I feel a pretty close affinity towards them. I also got the chance to tour their offices when I was in Los Angeles a few months ago, so it was awesome meeting everyone.

That’s probably why I got such a big kick out of a video they released showing Santa visiting Century Media HQ. Not only did I get to see a pretty damn entertaining video but I also got to see several of my pals engaging in some good ole’ holiday shenanigans! Check it out below and remember to add some metal to your holiday cheer! READ MORE

Exclusive ‘Silent Night’ Clip Shows Santa’s Bloody Aftermath!

On November 30th, Anchor Bay Films presents Silent Night on screens in ten major U.S. metropolitan areas. That following tuesday, December 4th, the Blu-ray/DVD combo and DVD will be available to unwrap nationwide.

The first clip has been released that walks star Jaime King into the bloody aftermath of our killer Santa Claus.

The film, directed by Steven C. Miller (Automaton Transfusion, Under the Bed, The Aggression Scale), is a loose remake of the horror classic Silent Night, Deadly Night. The cast includes Malcolm McDowell (Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Easy A), Jaime King (Sin City, My Bloody Valentine 3D), Donal Logue (Shark Night 3D, Blade), Lisa Marie (Sleepy Hollow), Brendan Fehr (Final Destination, X-Men First Class), and Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World).

McDowell and King star as a small-town sheriff and deputy on the hunt for a murderous Santa Claus terrorizing their community on Christmas Eve. But with the streets full of Santas for the annual Christmas parade, the killer is hiding in plain sight. He’s made his list, checked it twice, and the naughty are going to pay with their lives.

Bonus features on home video include “Silent Night: Behind The Scenes” featurette and Deleted Scenes. READ MORE

IFC Midnight Attains ‘Sint’hood

I feel like I was just talking about how great IFC Midnight is and how they always manage to snag interesting stuff… Oh wait, I was.

After announcing their latest acquisition – The Shrine – earlier this week, IFC Midnight just revealed that they picked up the Santa Claus slasher Sint, which has its North American premiere tonight. This was one of my most anticipated film this year, so I’m glad someone who actually cares about their releases and has a good theatrical/VOD/DVD program bought it.

A Freddy Kruger-like Santa Claus returns every December 5 with zombie pirate henchmen to kidnap and murder Dutch children. What’s not to like here?

Tribeca ’11: Santa Claus on the Attack in First ‘Sint’ Images!

Straight out of the Netherlands comes Dick Maas’ absolutely batsh*t insane Sint (Saint), another Christmas tale that delivers a vicious Santa Claus as a slasher.

There have been a slew of posters and trailer, click the pic below for the first ever stills. It will have its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April.

An original and delightfully gruesome slasher film, Saint reimagines jolly old Saint Nick as a murderous bishop fulfilling a grisly prophecy under the December 5 full moon. Full of creative yuletide horror, Saint is a fun chiller that follows local teen Frank as he sets out on a bloody, high-energy battle to save Amsterdam from the wrathful “Sinterklaas” and his minions.
