[BD Review] Nothing New to be Seen in 'The Demented'
To quote a famous TV duo from the 90s, “Nobody has any balls anymore.”
Okay, while that may not be entirely true, it does feel like a lot of directors, both indie and established, don’t exactly take many risks when it comes to certain projects. Too often nowadays it seems like every other film derives it’s plot from genre clichés that when piled up, make the film look, well, derivative and tired. With The Demented, writer/director Christopher Roosevelt enlisted the help of Steven Monroe (director of the I Spit On Your Grave remake and it’s sequel) to hopefully inject some fresh ideas into a film that boils down to the old “college kids traveling together to a remote locale for the weekend” trope.

Six college friends meet up for a carefree weekend that turns deadly. A terrorist attack in a nearby town infects much of the townspeople with a deadly virus that induces rabies-like symptoms, only far more severe. Several of those infected attack the estate where the friends have been vacationing. Can they survive? Where will they hide? Is anyone left? Will we ever get our fill of these flesh eating zombie fiends?

First Look At Zombie Indie 'The Demented' Crawls In
Being sold at next month’s Cannes market is The Demented, a new zombie film from director Christopher Roosevelt.
We landed the first batch of hi-res still from the indie starring I Spit on Your Grave‘s Sarah Butler, as well as Kayla Noelle Ewell, Michael Alan Welch, Ashlee Brian, Brittney Alger, and Richard Kohnke.

First Details, New Art For Michael Biehn's 'Treachery'
Dog and Pony, who created incredible art for Crawl and Into the Dark, made the latest one-sheet for Treachery, which has a slew of new producers involved.
Tapped producers Rob Freeman and Cody Hackman have teamed with Michael Biehn and his BlancBiehn Productions partner and lifemate Jennifer Blanc Biehn have joined Treachery.
Treachery is a suspense drama featuring an ensemble cast that includes Michael Biehn (Tapped, The Divide, The Victim), Jennifer Blanc Biehn (“Dark Angel,” Wrong Cops, The Victim), Richard Gunn (“Dark Angel,” Granite Flats, For the Love of Money), Sarah Butler (I Spit on Your Grave remake), Caitlin Keats (Kill Bill Vol. 2, Broken English, Kiss of the Damned), Chris Meyer (Among Friends, Kiss of the Damned), Matthew Ziff (Truck Stop, Among Friends), Lorraine Ziff, Tanya Newbould (Skyline, The Victim), Christian Meoli, Jenise Blanc and Matthew Krause.
Travis Romero directs the film set in a remote cabin during a wedding party, where the reunion of an estranged father and son leads to discomfort among the group—and when a storm traps them inside, things get even more tense.

We’ve gotten wind of a poster and trailer for the new thriller The Stranger Inside which stars Estella Warren, Sarah Butler and William Baldwin. The film, directed by Adam Neutzsky-Wulff, makes its premiere screening at the Berlin Film Festival EFM on February 9th and plans to be in theaters Summer 2013.
In the movie, “Film actress Emily Moore is kidnapped and tortured by a masked man. Deemed a psychotic fan by the world’s press, only Emily knows the real reason why he did so. Anchor Bay Gets 'Demented' For Zombie Genre
Anchor Bay Films has acquired English speaking terrritorial rights to The Demented, and has added the thriller to its 2013 slate. Produced by Zero Gravity Management and ChickFlicks, The Demented is another zombie-fest, populated by young genre fixtures that include I Spit On Your Grave‘s Sarah Butler, Michael Welch (Twilight Saga), Kayla Ewell (“Vampire Diaries”), Brittney Alger (21 Jump Street) and Richard Kohnke (Mighty Fine). We exclusively broke the news on the film back in May.
The script was penned by writer/director Chris Roosevelt. Filming just wrapped in Louisiana.

Michael Biehn Storms 'Treachery'
While the “Hell Hunters” story has already been debunked, Michael Biehn will officially star in Treachery, a thriller featuring an ensemble cast that also includes Jennifer Blanc Biehn (The Divide), Sarah Butler (I Spit on Your Grave), Caitlin Keats (Kill Bill Vol. 2), Chris Meyer (Among Friends) and Matthew Ziff (Truck Stop), says THR.
Travis Romero (TV’s “White Collar,” “The Victim”), is the writer and director of Treachery, which centers on a man (Biehn) who is reunited with his estranged son at a remote wedding party. When a storm strands the party, ugly truths are revealed.
Biehn is best known for his work in Terminator and Aliens movies but has developed a niche for himself producing low-budget grindhouse-style productions. He is producing Treachery via his BlancBiehn Productions, which he runs with his wife and partner Jennifer Blanc Biehn.
Shooting is set to take place in Los Angeles starting in June.

Monroe, 2010′s I Spit On Your Grave tells the story of city dweller Jennifer Hills (Sarah Butler), a city girl who rents an isolated cabin in the country to write her latest novel. On one terrifying evening, a group of local lowlifes break into the cabin and overpower, assault and rape Jennifer, ultimately leaving her for dead. But Jennifer miraculously survives her ordeal, consumed with hell-borne vengeance for those who wronged her, and repays their heinous acts in gruesome ways that these lowlifes never thought imaginable.
