Chester Bennington Calls ‘Saw 3D’ “Bad”, Watch a Deleted Scene

BD regular ‘Jaykah’ pointed me in the direction of two very interesting Saw 3D news bites. First, inside you’ll find a deleted scene from the forthcoming DVD/Blu-ray release (January 25) featuring Dr. Gordon and Bobby converging on their beliefs and past times. In addition, he also stumbled upon an interview with Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington who calls the seventh film in the franchise “bad”. “I don’t know, man, that was a pretty bad movie. It was fun. I don’t actively go out and audition for movies.” I always get a kick out of stars admitting a film wasn’t up to their standards.

Halloween Boxoffice Estimates: ‘Saw 3D’ Puts the Scare on ‘Paranormal Activity’

Update: As I stated the previous numbers seemed a bit high. I have $10.8m on Friday for ‘Saw 3D’ and $23.7m weekend; $5.8m for ‘PA2′ and $16.7m for the weekend. Early boxoffice reports put Saw 3D at the top of the pack with an estimated $11m in 2,808 theaters on Friday giving a weekend total of $28m. This is slightly higher than the projections, although taking into account the high cost of 3D it balances out. $28m is an astounding opening weekend take for a seventh film in the franchise, while also going head-to-head with Paramount’s Paranormal Activity 2 in its second week of a release. PA 2 dropped a hefty 68% with $6.4m on Friday in 3,239 theaters. It looks to make $18.5m over the holiday weekend. Who says horror can’t kick ass in October? The two films accounted for $46m and took the top two slots. Too bad Lionsgate dubbed this the final Saw — but we all know the truth…Jigsaw’s game is just beginning.
