Scion A/V has teamed up with Zombie Nation to release a video for “Level”, which comes off the recently released RGB (iTunes). The video shows a man with a speaker in his stomach walking around and starting random dance parties with people. It’s somewhat reminiscent of Cronenberg’s Videodrome in an odd way. Scion A/V Metal is teaming up with Earache Records for a free showcase on Jan. 12th, 2013 at 1pm PST in Pomono, CA. The showcase will be headlined by Oceano with support coming from Vektor, Bonded By Blood, and White Wizzard. To RSVP, click here.
David DiSanto of Vektor said, “We’re real stoked to be a part of this event. 25 years is longer than most of us have been on Earth! Congrats to Earache and thank you to Scion for all of the support for the show. See you sleazoids there!“.
Bonded by Blood’s Carlos Relgado adds, “We are excited to say that we are going to be a part of this year’s Earache showcase, along with Scion who have been super cool and have gone out of their way to support us and the scene. We just couldn’t be more grateful for them to put on shows like this – down the street from where we rehearse none the less! The Glass House in Pomona has always been one of the best known (yet also sort of unknown) places to play. In the past couple of years or so they have not been having very many metal shows. We are hoping to change that.
“We look forward to seeing a lot of friends and family and we can’t wait to share the stage once again with great friends such as Vektor and White Wizzard. Cheers!” READ MORE

In a video interview with Scion A/V, Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake and vocalist Jens Kidman (who gets in about four or five words towards the end) discuss their latest album Koloss (review), a bit about the album artwork and why they want fans to leave their show with a feeling that they need to cry in the shower. The video interview can be seen below.
Also, make sure to snag a FREE mp3 of “I Am Colossus” as well as the remix version done by Engine Ear-Z & Foreign Beggars. READ MORE
It’s hard to take a track so evil, so ploddingly heavy and vile as Meshuggah‘s I Am Colossus and make it any more intense. And while it can be argued that the remix the band has released doesn’t have the same metal intensity, it does have something more mechanically sinister in its electronic approach. Either way, the end of the story is that this remix is something intense and highly recommended! Check it out below along with a link to a free download.

Meshuggah has teamed up with Scion A/V to bring you a free download of I Am Colossus, the first track on their latest album Koloss. The song is slow burning, evil, and makes you feel like you need to shower afterwards. You can snag the download from the widget below.
Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake states, “‘I Am Colossus’ is way more straightforward than the thrash metal we grew up with. At the same time, it does pose its own difficulties for us as players. It will probably be one of the first songs we attempt to play on tour. The solo – which is basically two long notes that are slow bends – just turned out beautiful. Such an understatement as a guitar solo. Sometimes a slow song is just as aggressive as a fast one.”
