[TV News Bites] New Clips From “Dexter” And “The Walking Dead”, New Posters For “The Following”!

Earlier this morning we brought you a preview of next week’s “Dexter” (Episode 7.03), entitled “Buck The System.” But that wasn’t enough! Now we’ve got our first look at Yvonne Strahovski as Hannah McKay in an additonal clip from that episode.

Next up is a clip from the first episode of Season 3 of AMC’s The Walking Dead which kicks off October 14. This one features our gang trying to figure out some sh*t on a map. Not one of the show’s most compelling moments, but you know you like it all.

Last but not least (ok, kind of least since we haven’t seen the show yet – fingers crossed) are some cool new character posters (via EW) from “The Following”, the new Kevin Williamson created, Kevin Bacon starring, serial killer show from Fox. It starts airing this January.

[TV] Next On “Dexter”: Episode 7.03 “Buck The System”

“Dexter” returned to Showtime two weeks ago for its highly anticipated Season 7 premiere. I was sort of impressed that they didn’t dodge the question at hand and that they dove straight into the process of looping Deb into Dexter’s “Dark Passenger”. While I haven’t seen last night’s episode yet, the Season 7 premiere – while not great – was a step up from the awful Season 6. Maybe this show can get its groove back?

If you’ve already seen last night’s episode, head inside for a preview of next week/s Episode 7.03, entitled “Buck The System.” In it “Dexter tries to bring Debra on board with his new target.READ MORE

TV: New “Dexter” Promo Teases “The Beginning” Before Going All Techno On Us

Eh. We’ve kind of seen this before. Especially if you’ve seen the end of Season 6. I feel like “Dexter” is pulling out all the stops to tantalize us about the moments that transpire after Deb catches Dex in the act, except we’ve already seen that haven’t we? Hopefully something amazing happens past those two minutes they’ve already shown us.

As previously reported, Yvonne Strahovski will play Hannah McKay, a strong, independent woman with a past that she’s struggled to put behind her. As Miami Metro reopens old cases, the department turns to her for assistance as Michael C. Hall’s Dexter Morgan begins to wonder if there’s more to Hannah than what she reveals. Katia Winter will play a Russian stripper who works at a Miami club and joins Season 7 newbies Jason Gedrick — who will play the manger of the same Miami strip club — and Ray Stevenson, who has been cast as the leader of a Russian organized crime syndicate.

TV: New Teaser For “Dexter” Season 7, The Dark Passenger Takes Center Stage

Now that I’m all caught up on “Dexter” I’ll be covering the upcoming seventh season. That means I’ll be sharing your pain (though hopefully the show rebounds). We know that the show will face head-on the implications of Deborah finding out that Dexter is the Bay Harbor Butcher (as well as the implications of being in love with him). It’s this central conflict that this teaser – “Dark Passenger” – plays up.

TV: Promo For Season Seven Of “Dexter” Contains A Ton Of New Clips!

The seventh season of “Dexter” premieres on September 30th at 8/9 CST. That means it’s actually a little early to start seeing footage of any kind – but Showtime has heard your cries and has decided to assuage them! There’s a lot of new footage clips in the promo below – it’s just too bad they don’t last very long! Get ready to screengrab, I guess.

The upcoming season will trace the fallout from Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) finding out that Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is actually the Bay Harbor Butcher (and icky love interest). Yvonne Strahovski, Katia Winter, Jason Gedrick and Ray Stevenson are all joining the cast for arcs this year.

TV: Learn What Deb Finds Out About “Dexter” In Season 7

Oh man. I used to really like “Dexter” but I’ve been suffering through Season 6 to make sure I’m all caught up so I can cover Season 7 and I have to tell you – even though you probably already know – it’s fairly awful. It’s just treading water, every season has a new “Big Bad” serial killer that invades Miami and it’s all getting a bit ridiculous. Miami even has retired serial killers like the Tooth Fairy living there and playing golf. Miami. Serial killers, old people and the most brutally incompetent police force known to man.

But maybe there’s hope! There are reports that this season veers away from the “Big Bad” setup and we already knew that Deb at least knows about Dex killing Travis. One of the big questions is, “how much will she learn?”

TV Guide asked Producer Sara Colleton that very question and she answered, “Yeah. Obviously this whole season we’re going to have great fun playing with every permutation that can be played between Debra and Dexter in their relationship now that this information has come out. She was on her way to the church at the end of the last season because she had come to realize that she not only loved her foster brother Dexter but she is in love with him. So now what does she do? Does she turn him into the police? Is she repulsed by him? Can she continue to love him? Does she feel an odd relief that finally she understands some fundamental part of him that always felt elusive? Dexter was always elusive and Debra always thought it was because of her, and now she knows it wasn’t about her, it was about him really protecting her.

Seventh Season Of “Dexter” Scores Ally McBeal, A New Poster And A Behind The Scenes Pic

Side note, the opening titles breakfast cooking sequence from “Dexter” always makes me hungry. Why can’t I make myself a breakfast like that? Weigh in when making your comment. Now onto the news, apparently Calista Flockhart (“Ally McBeal”, The Birdcage) will be in the first episode of the Seventh Season entitled, “Are You…?”. Nicholas Vigneau will make an appearance as young Dexter with Savannah Paige Rae (“Parenthood”) as young Debra.

We also have an image below the jump from the set of third episode of the season, “Buck the System”, that Jennifer Carpenter tweeted out with the description “Two dummies waiting to shoot….” Last but not least is the first poster from the upcoming season, which Dexter Daily got their hands on.

Kicking off the first of the probable final two seasons, Yvonne Strahovski will play Hannah McKay, a strong, independent woman with a past that she’s struggled to put behind her on the Michael C. Hall-Jennifer Carpenter serial killer drama. As Miami Metro reopens old cases, the department turns to her for assistance as Hall’s Dexter Morgan begins to wonder if there’s more to Hannah than what she reveals.

New TV Spot For Season 7 Of “Dexter” Teases The Brother/Sister Connection

“Dexter” returns Sunday, September 30 at 9 p.m. on Showtime and their most recent TV Spot is a vast improvement over the last one. It at least shows some footage, even if it’s not footage from the show itself. Instead, we get Deb and Dex staring longingly at each other as blood careens off the edge of a blade and drips on the floor. The spot, entitled “Truth Brings Light”, hints that this season will explore head-on the conflicts that arise after Deb admits her more-than-platonic love for Dexter – and discovers that he is indeed a killer (if not discovering that he’s the Bay Harbor Butcher outright).

Kicking off the first of the probable final two seasons, Yvonne Strahovski will play Hannah McKay, a strong, independent woman with a past that she’s struggled to put behind her on the Michael C. TV: Image From “Dexter” Season Seven, It’s Not Gonna Ignore The Deborah Situation…

Dexter Header 61212 TV: Image From Dexter Season Seven, Its Not Gonna Ignore The Deborah Situation...

A new on-set snapshot from the seventh season of “Dexter” provides some decent support for their assertion that they’ll tackle Deborah’s simultaneous love declaration and discovery of Dexter’s dark passenger head on. Executive producer Scott Buck tells TV Guide, “Viewers might think we shy away from that moment of Debra walking in and seeing Dexter stabbing into Travis’ chest, but it’s just the opposite. She now has to deal with what she’s seen and what she knows. And it forces him to defend and define himself.

For those of you keeping tabs on new characters, Matt Gerald (Avatar, “The Shield”) joined up for a multi-episode arc as a violent blue-collar criminal. Katia Winter (Arena) was cast as a Russian stripper who works in a Miami club. She joined fellow Season 7 newbie Ray Stevenson (“Rome”), who was recently cast a high-ranking member of an Eastern European crime ring who arrives in Miami determined to learn who killed one of his associates, and TV vet Jason Gedrick as the owner of the club where Winter’s character works.

TV: The Kid From ‘Iron Eagle’ To Own A Gentleman’s Club On “Dexter”

Jason Gedrick 52212 TV: The Kid From Iron Eagle To Own A Gentlemans Club On Dexter

The Seventh Season of “Dexter” starts airing on September 30th at 9pm ET/PT, and we’re starting to get a glimpse of the shape it might take. Now that his sister, Deb (Jennifer Carpenter), knows he’s a killer – and is in love with him – Season Seven was already promising to deviate from the formula a bit.

We already know that Ray Stevenson booked a multiepisode arc playing Isaac, the leader of a Russian organized crime syndicate. Now Deadline is reporting, “Jason Gedrick is joining Season 7 of Dexter in a multi-episode arc. He will play the manager of a Miami-area gentlemen’s club that becomes linked to a high-profile murder case in the Showtime drama. Production on Season 7 begins in May in Los Angeles.

Jason Gedrick was most recently seen in HBO’s “Luck”, so it’s not like he hasn’t been working. But to me, he’ll always be Doug Masters – the scrappy underage fighter pilot ho straps a cassette deck to his thigh while flying jets, hanging out with Chappy Sinclair and rescuing his dad from evil despots. Tragically – his character was killed in the opening moments of Iron Eagle 2.

Anyway, “Dexter”. As good as it’s ever been, right?

Now that his sister, Deb (Jennifer Carpenter), knows he’s a killer – and is in love with him – Season Seven was already promising to deviate from the formula a bit.

Now we’re getting an idea of a potential heavy hitter in the upcoming year. THR is reporting that Ray Stevenson (Punisher: War Zone, “Rome”) “has booked a multiepisode arc on the seventh season of the Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter fronted serial killer drama.” He’ll be playing Isaac, the leader of a Russian organized crime syndicate who comes to Miami to determine who killed one of his associates.

What do you want from this next season of “Dexter”? There’s only two more years left in the show, how would you like to see them play out?
