Although it’s being labelled as disappointing by many critics around the world, our very own Adam Dodd quite enjoyed Sega’s Alien: Colonial Marines. One of the aspects that he truly enjoyed was the music, which was composed by Kevin Riepl (Gears Of War, HENRi, Hunted: The Demon’s Forge). Taking inspiration from the original James Horner score but giving unique and original twists, it seems that the music is the one thing that most critics can agree upon being a shining point in the game.

The Silent Night remake hit limited theaters last Friday and has been drawing in some very high reviews, including one from our very own Lonnie Nadler, which you can check out here. We’ve brought you an interview with director Steven C. Miller and now it’s time to chat the music of the film with composer Kevin Riepl! Below you’ll find an exclusive interview with the music maestro himself.

The film’s cast includes Malcolm McDowell (Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Easy A), Jaime King (Sin City, My Bloody Valentine 3D), Donal Logue (Shark Night 3D, Blade), Lisa Marie (Sleepy Hollow), Brendan Fehr (Final Destination, X-Men First Class), and Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World).

Releasing ToeJam and Earl on the same day as Halo 4 was in my opinion, DUMB. So once I come down off my Halo 4 high horse I will definitely be getting the ToeJam and Earl collection. In case you didn’t already know, it’s out today in North America on the Playstation Network. Tomorrow in Europe on the PSN, and globally on Xbox Live Arcade. It includes the original game, and the 2nd game ToeJam & Earl: Panic on Funkotron. Supposedly the Playstation Network will sell them at 5 bucks each, and XBLA will have them bundled together for 800 Microsoft Funk Bucks. Screens past the break.

I’m speechless. I never thought I’d see the day. But it really is happening. ToeJam & Earl are coming to the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Some childhood memories are flooding out my brain. November 7th you’ll be able to get the original game and ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron as part of Sega’s Vintage Collection, a pack that will run you 10 bucks or 800 Microsoft Toe Jammy Points. Both games include Trophy and Achievement support as well as online 2 player co-op for both games. Screens and game info past the break!

If you recall a little over a week ago I posted about the Rise Of Nightmares pre-order bonuses. They are not so good. And just when you thought there couldn’t be a worse bonus, along comes the Amazon.com pre order bonus. For the exact same price, you get a Jester avatar pet. That’s it.

Listen, I know I’m bitching. I mean we should be grateful we get ANYTHING at all for free with the game just for pre-ordering. I remember spending full price for a game when I was younger, getting absolutely NOTHING extra with it, and then hating the crap out of the game. We live in a good era for video games. But if Amazon wants to beat out Game Stop they need to schmooze some better exclusives. Although Amazon does a lot of the time offer you a 20 dollar credit towards your next video game when you buy a new game from them. READ MORE

There is no doubt about it. Rise Of Nightmares is not your average Kinect game. But as they show more and more of it, it’s not normal by any standards. It looks darker and more brutal than most horror games that have been coming out. And yes, that is a perfect fit for Bloody Disgusting. If you haven’t already checked out the frighteningly horrific Rise Of Nightmares screen shots that Adam posted 2 articles down, I suggest you stop acting like a scared little baby and do it. I mean sure Adam basically came onto the entire BD audience, but that’s nothing to be so afraid of. He’s gentle, and soft, and likes to coo softly in your ears to get you going.

I’ve been excited for a more ‘adult’ game to be hitting the Xbox 360 Kinect, but I have to say after seeing the trailer below, I’m 150% in. The trailer for Rise Of Nightmares is insane, fucked up, gory, old skool looking, bat shit crazy, and just plain awesome. I can’t really hype it up any more so just watch the video and tell me how sweet it looks.

Sega and Headstrong Games are coming out with House of the Dead: Overkill, a shooter in the vein of the Grindhouse movies coming out February 10 for the Wii. If you pre-order the game through Gamestop, you get a limited edition copy of the House of the Dead Overkill comic. This comic is a prequel to the game and is considered “adults only.” This comic and game are making this seem like this is a reason for me to turn on my Wii again.
