I’ve been following Bloody-Disgusting since way before I started writing for them. Being a critic has opened so many doors for me, providing the awesome opportunity to discover a world of horror that I didn’t even know existed. Unfortunately, some of that world is not so pretty.

Like any year, 2012 was host to some real stinkers. As a personal rule, I avoid trash-talking other people in the industry. I don’t like spitting venom at people I don’t know, especially young filmmakers who are still learning the tricks of the trade. But hey, I’m an emotional guy, and sometimes movies get the better of me. The films listed below don’t find themselves here simply because they’re bad, but because they genuinely made me angry. [BD Review] ‘Seven Below’

So, have you ever read a story or seen a movie that is set way back in the day and the author has tried to change the dialogue to reflect this, but it’s just so badly executed that it’s painful? Seven Below delivers on this almost immediately with meager acting where children are calling their moms ‘mother’ in every sentence as they converse. Maybe people do this even now, but here it’s excruciating to decipher what makes it just so cringe worthy – the acting or the writing. Or both. And with this scene from 1910, the film begins its crawl.

Seven Below is promoted as being a ‘supernatural thriller in the vein of The Ring and The Grudge with explosive terror and spine-chilling suspense and action’ – all of which it is, umm, not. Not even close. READ MORE

Val Kilmer Starrer ‘Seven Below’ Gets April DVD Date

On home video April 7 from Arc Entertainment is Seven Below (formerly Seven Below Zero). Kevin Carraway directs from a screenplay he penned with Lawrence Smith, with Val Kilmer (The Thaw), Ving Rhames (Piranha, Dawn of the Dead), Luke Goss and Rebecca De Costa all starring. No extras have been revealed.

The story centers on a group of strangers brought together when a terrible storm leaves them stranded in a house in the woods where a terrible event transpired exactly 100 years prior. The group seems trapped in a ghostly time warp, and history is repeating itself.READ MORE

Do the Time Warp in ‘Seven Below’ Zero

Already announced way back in January, full details have now been revealed for EFish Entertainment’s indie thriller Seven Below (formerly Seven Below Zero).

Kevin Carraway is directing from a screenplay he penned with Lawrence Smith, with Val Kilmer (The Thaw), Ving Rhames (Piranha, Dawn of the Dead), Luke Goss and Rebecca De Costa all starring, reports Variety.

The story centers on a group of strangers brought together when a terrible storm leaves them stranded in a house in the woods where a terrible event transpired exactly 100 years prior. The group seems trapped in a ghostly time warp, and history is repeating itself.

The project had been set to shoot earlier this year in New Mexico with Kilmer starring but a change in the state tax credits caused producers to move the shoot to Cincinnati, where production’s set to begin next month.
