Wendy Alden, a young, attractive secretary in a large urban center (St. Louis) lacking in self- confidence and self-esteem becomes victim of a savage killer who has claimed the lives of a number of other women. Somehow Wendy finds the resources of courage to fight back and escape.
Obsessed with killing Wendy, Franklin Rood, the killer, penetrates a police cordon set up to guard her by Det. Tony Delgado, the detective investigating the case. Again, she manages to escape, earning not only Rood’s grudging respect, but his twisted sense of love. He later kidnaps her and brings her to his hideout in the in the woods where he subjects her to a horrific ritual of psychological torture. She is finally rescued and Rood is captured after Delgado succeeds in tracking the killer through a series of wily detection techniques.
In a diabolically daring and cunning plan, Rood escapes jail, killing several policemen in the process. Again, determined to kill Wendy and armed to the teeth, he storms into her office building. During a ferocious display of carnage, Rood is finally killed by Wendy who retrieves a slain security guard’s gun and shoots down the monster of her living nightmare. During the course of her odyssey, Wendy starts as a mouse, finally transforming into a lioness…
Penned by Maggie Stiefvater the adaptation centers on a bittersweet romance between a teen girl and a boy who becomes a wolf each winter.

Image Entertainment has picked up US rights to Cyclone Productions thriller Shiver, directed by UK director Julian Richards.
Based on Brian Harper’s novel, the film stars Halloween‘s Danielle Harris, Wolf Creek‘s John Jarratt and The Pact‘s Casper Van Dien in the story of a young secretary who becomes the target of a savage killer.
Written and Produced by Robert Weinbach, executive produced by Brad Harris and co-produced by AJ Gordon, the film was shot on location in Portland, Oregon.

Julian Richards’ Shiver, which stars Danielle Harris (Halloween, Stake Land), John Jarratt (Wolf Creek), Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) and Rae Dawn Chong (Commando), is off at Cannes hoping to find distribution. While we already brought you tons of stills and art from the Richards-directed thriller, we just now scored the official sales trailer that can be enjoyed beyond the break. It was announced today that Welsh film director Julian Richards (The Last Horror Movie, Summer Scars) has completed principal photography on his debut Hollywood feature film Shiver, a psychological thriller starring Danielle Harris (Halloween, Stake Land), John Jarratt (Wolf Creek), Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) and Rae Dawn Chong (Commando). Filmed on location in Los Angeles, California and Portland, Oregon, Shiver is a women in peril story about a young secretary stalked by a relentless serial killer who finds the courage to fight back. “Fans of Hitchcock, ‘Halloween’ and ‘Silence Of The Lambs’ will enjoy ‘Shiver,’ ” said Richards, “I set out to thoroughly torture the heroine whilst having fun with a killer that just won’t take no for an answer.” Post production on SHIVER is scheduled for completion in May 2011 with a world premiere planned for Toronto International Film Festival in September. According to the film’s official website, Starship Trooper star Casper Van Dien and 1985 Commando star Rae Dawn Chong have both joined Danielle Harris, John Jarratt and Luke Goss in Julian Richards’ Shiver. Nikita Esco and Brad Harris round out the cast. In the adaptation of Brian Harper’s 1992 novel, LAPD homicide detective Sebastian Delgado (Casper Van Dien) must track down a serial killer who takes his victim’s heads as trophies and leaves a bizarre calling card in their place. Richards directed both Summer Scars and The Last Horror Movie.
