Baptized In Blood Debut To Be Released Digitally Oct. 19th

Canada’s BAPTIZED IN BLOOD are set to storm out of their native Canada and mount a takeover of American metal audiences when they release their self-titled, debut full-length for Roadrunner via digital retailers nationally on October 19. The band will also play alongside A Life Once Lost at the CMJ Music Marathon Metal Sucks Showcase, which will be held October 20 at Club Europa. Baptized in Blood have already turned the discerning head of a metal icon, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, who was so impressed that he  has taken on the role of co-manager for the London, Ontario-based band, alongside Mark Adelman.

Additionally, Mike D of Dark Icon Design, who also serves as the bassist for Killswitch Engage, designed the album artwork. While Baptized in Blood may have friends in high places, the band doesn’t rely on those associations; the five-piece delivers the goods with their bottom heavy, unrelenting metallic assault. Baptized in Blood are a classic Roadrunner signing that remains true the label’s long-standing history as the standard bearer of the best in hard rock and metal.

“I’ve been working with Jagermeister since 2004 to try to make the first Jagermeister Music Tour Trifecta happen,” said guitarist Kerry King of Slayer.  ”I always have such a killer time on the Jagermeister Music Tour, and this time we’re coming through with Megadeth and Anthrax so you know everyone will be on the top of their game for these shows.”  Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine adds, “It is a rush to finally be a part of the Jagermeister Music Tour!”
“Slayer has been a long time friend and supporter of the brand,” says Bill Henderson, Senior Vice President Marketing and Advertising at Sidney Frank Importing Company, Inc.  ”Jagermeister has been sponsoring them since 2001 and named them as headliner of both the 2003 and 2004 Fall Music Tours.  It is great to work with them again and know that adding Megadeth and Anthrax to the program will make this a tour to remember.”

The “Big Four”, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax are bringing their historic European tour to the global stage by beaming the event via satellite to movie theaters around the world in a special HD cinematic event. These four legendary acts broke out of the underground thrash movement in the 1980’s to dominate the metal world, selling millions of records and packing arenas across the globe. Despite huge demand, these musical giants have never shared the same stage until now. The legendary June 22nd concert from the tour’s stop of the Sonisphere Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria will air the same day in over 450 theaters in more than 140 markets in the U.S., as well as beamed into theaters in Europe, Canada and Latin America. Delayed screenings are planned in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. The high-definition concert presentation will memorialize the event and the impact will be amplified globally with the cinema screenings, making the dreams of fans around the world over become a reality.

Witchery Complete New Album: Post New Track On-Line

Witchery’s line-up reads like the who’s who of Swedish Metal: Jensen (guitars) plays with The Haunted; solo-guitarist Rickard Rimfält for Séance; bass player Sharlee D’Angelo is in charge of the deep end of Arch Enemy and Spiritual Beggars; while drummer Martin Axe hits the skins of Opeth and Bloodbath. The upcoming album Witchkrieg, set for a June 29th North American release, features the debut of new vocalist Legion (ex-Marduk, ex-Devian) and an army of the best metal guitarists. The fretboard wizardry of Kerry King (Slayer) crowns “Witchkrieg,” the opener and title track.

Guitar player Jensen had met Kerry in 1999 on the first U.S. tour of his band in Los Angeles after the WITCHERY show at The Whiskey. “He came on our bus and we partied all night long. We played air guitar while listening to old Rainbow records,” Jensen remembers. “At the Roskilde Festival in Denmark I bumped into him again. I played him the song, he listened to it three times straight and said: ‘Yeah, I’ll do it.’

Tom Araya Scheduled For Back Surgery – American Carnage Tour Dates Postponed

Already buy your American Carnage tickets? Well, I’ve got some bad news for all of you who were expecting to check out Slayer, Megadeth, and Testament starting later this month… Tom Araya’s years of banging his head have taken their toll and despite trying to avoid surgery, he’s biting the bullet and doing what needs to be done.

clash dave tom Tom Araya Scheduled For Back Surgery American Carnage Tour Dates Postponed

In the beginning he didn’t want to take the major surgery route, so a specialist recommended a series of minimally-invasive procedures. While those procedures have resulted in some improvement, Araya continues to deal with intermittent bouts of severe pain, numbness and muscle spasms. The surgical procedure that Araya will undergo, called an Anterior Cervical Discectomy with Fusion (which sounds like it could be the title for a new Slayer song), is a relatively routine practice and the recovery rate is excellent.

Booking agents for both Slayer and Megadeth are already hard at work to see if these dates can be rescheduled, so those holding tickets are asked to sit tight as more info will be announced as progress is made. READ MORE

SLAYER’s Kerry King Shares His Favorite Horror Movies

Nothing is scarier than the mosh pit at a Slayer show.

There are broken limbs flying everywhere, blood splattering and sweaty heavy metal heathens chanting the devil’s praises…It’s the most beautiful kind of metallic massacre, and these four thrash metal titans have been proudly igniting mosh pits for well over two decades. Their latest offering, World Painted Blood, only continues that bone-shattering legacy with more riffs blessed by Beelzebub himself and lyrics that nightmares are made of.
