Malice In Wonderland (Sunderland)
Jayson Rothwell’s script has Alice re-imagined as an American student who is hit by a London taxi and finds herself disoriented in Sunderland, where she has to navigate a macabre underworld of characters.
Candyman (remake)
In the original: A children’s ghost story comes to terrifying life in this gut-wrenching thriller about a graduate student whose research into modern folklore summons the spirit of the dead. Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen) laughs when she interviews college freshmen about their superstitions. But when she hears about Candyman a slave spirit with a hook hand who is said to haunt Chicago’s notorious Cabrini-Green housing project she thinks she has a new twist for this thesis. Braving the gang-ridden territory to visit the site of a brutal murder Helen arrogantly assumes Candyman can’t really exist… until he appears igniting a string of terrifying tragic slayings. But the police don’t believe in monsters and they charge Helen with the grisly crimes. Only one person can set her free: CANDYMAN.
The Zone
A stealth project that is joining the swelling ranks of the “found footage” genre, which purport to be genuine reels, tapes or files found after the person operating the camera expires. No plot details are known but sources say Zone revolves around an alien invasion, will be improv-based and cast with relative unknowns.
Resident Evil 6
The final installment of the trilogy Anderson began with Resident Evil: Afterlife
Artist Uses Sony’s Tease To Construct PlayStation 4
Yesterday, Sony teased us with a glimpse of what the PlayStation 4 will look like. It didn’t reveal much, more a bunch of close-up shots and a blurry rectangle, but that seems to have been enough for Redditor Albino-Zebra to construct a concept of what the console could look like. They could be spot on, or way off — we won’t know for sure until Sony reveals their console on June 10. I have to say, it looks pretty snazzy. Check it out after the jump.

Sony Teases Design Of PlayStation 4
Tomorrow morning, Microsoft will reveal their follow-up to the Xbox 360 — and yes, I’ll be here to excitedly fill you in as it happens. Sony knows this, so to lure some of the spotlight away from their biggest competitor they’ve unveiled a brief tease of an impending unveiling of what the PlayStation 4 console will look like. Sure, that sentence made sense.
The console’s design was surprisingly absent when Sony first unveiled it back in February, leaving many of us to wonder whether it’s design would mess with the delicate balance of our living room’s feng shui. Unfortunately, we still don’t have an answer to that. What we do have is a batch of close-ups and a blurry teaser, both of which you can enjoy after the jump.

‘Fatal Frame 2′ Haunts PSN Next Week
If DreadOut doesn’t satiate your appetite for hunting down those pesky ghosts with a camera than you’re more than welcome to re-experience the horrifying game that was Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly when it releases on PSN next Tuesday. This was, in my humble opinion, the best game in the series, so I’m crazy excited to get my hands on it again. How about you, what was your favorite Fatal Frame?

Who Gets Rescued First In New ‘This Is The End’ Clip?
Sony Pictures has released a new clip for This is the End, the new apocalypse comedy directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. As ridiculous as it is, as a kid I used to think they would rescue the famous people first in situations like this!
Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Aziz Ansari, Emma Watson, Jason Segel and David Krumholtz all on this gory horror comedy. Rogen wrote the script with Goldberg. The project is inspired by a short called “Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse” that featured Rogen and Jay Baruchel playing themselves, holed up in an apartment as they dealt with the end of the world.
“The comedy This Is The End follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.”

“Groovy!” Horror On Top Again As ‘Evil Dead’ Cleans Up With An Estimated 26 Million!!
FilmDistrict and TriStar’s Evil Dead remake handily won the box office this weekend with an estimated $26 Million haul. That’s pretty impressive for an “R” rated horror film, especially one as gory as this. Interestingly enough – the film only scored a C+ cinemascore, which would seem to indicate that exit polling among randomly sampled attendees on Friday was mixed right down the line between “love it” and “hate it.”
While I had a total blast with the film, I understand how some could be disappointed. Evil Dead is a 31 year old property and means many different things to many different people. It’s had a lot of time to seep into the culture and become a part of people’s lives. It’s important to some for entirely different reasons than it is for others, so if remake isn’t in the aesthetic of whatever you hold Evil Dead up to be, I get it. And perhaps some viewers never recovered from some of the clumsiness in the 1st act.
Still, I’d be willing to bet that a good portion of that “C+” was people stumbling out of the theater disgusted, people who never wanted to be there but were dragged in by their super-fan significant other. Either way, it looks pretty good for Evil Dead 2 and I’m genuinely curious to see where Alvarez takes the franchise.

Michael Cera Gets A Gory Demise In The REAL Trailer For ‘This Is The End’!
After the fake Pineapple Express 2 teaser earlier today, Sony Pictures has released the official full length trailer This is the End, the new apocalypse comedy directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. It looks really good! You’d expect a movie where everyone is playing themselves to be sort of annoying – but this looks anything but. A nice send-up of their personas – plus coke, booke, weed, death and sex. Liking it.

There Might Not Be A ‘Pineapple Express 2′, But There’s ‘This Is The End’!
Not to be confused with Edgar Wright’s End of the World, Sony Pictures’ This is the End, is a new apocalypse comedy directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Now that our April Fool’s shenanigans are winding down, I feel compelled to say that this isn’t a teaser for Pineapple Express 2 but rather some clever pimpage for the aformentioned movie we’ve been talking about for some time now.

Never Heard Of ‘The Remaining’? Well, It’s Done Shooting And Here Are Some Details
The Remaining hadn’t been on my radar until today, and even though it still doesn’t sound like my cup of tea (I don’t always like “religious apocalypse” movies) – it’s got some interesting talent behind it. Directed by Casey La Scala (Grind), the film stars Alexa Vega (Machete Kills), Shaun Sipos (Texas Chainsaw 3D), Johnny Pacar (Flight 29 Down), Italia Ricci (“Terminales”), Bryan Dechart (Step Up 3D) and newcomer Liz E. Morgan.
The film “is an action packed, horror thriller about a group of close-knit friends that come together to celebrate the marriage of Skylar (Vega) and Dan (Dechart). The group is enjoying the festivities when tragedy strikes. The wedding party is sieged by a series of catastrophic events which turns the celebration into a life-and-death struggle. The young group is desperately scrambling for refuge and self-preservation while an enemy they never knew existed unleashes its wrath against those remaining alive. They must understand what is happening around them and why, and find a way to survive together in a new world of death and destruction.”
Affirm films, a division of Sony, will either be handling sales for this or outright releasing it – it’s unclear from the release. But you’ll have to wait until 2014 either way. Head inside for some stills! READ MORE
Paul W.S. Anderson Likely Returning To ‘Resident Evil 6′, Film To Be Released September 12th, 2014
Now that Sony Screen Gems has set a release date of September 12th, 2014 (per Sony), it’s hard to imagine that Paul W.S. Anderson won’t be back for Resident Evil 6. He’s gone on record numerous times stating that he intended to start, and complete, a new trilogy that began with Resident Evil: Afterlife and continued with last September’s Resident Evil: Retribution.
While Retribution‘s domestic take wasn’t exactly enormous, its worldwide gross was $221,810,789 (Afterlife had an even more impressive cume of $296,221,663). In the Dickson house, we don’t care if your money comes from Japan, Bulgaria or wherever, just as long as it’s money. Most other businesses feel the same way, hence the continued march of the series.
Even though these movies aren’t always my cup of tea, I felt that Retribution was easily the best. What would YOU like to see in the soon-to-be-retitled Resident Evil 6?
[Exclusive] ‘Ghostbusters 3′ Could Be Animated!
Bill Murray doesn’t have an obligation to the fans to star in Ghostbusters 3, let alone any movie. In fact, many Bloody readers have sounded off that they don’t even want to see the sequel. But alas, Sony and Columbia Pictures continue to tweak their proton packs for a third battle with the undead in New York.
The project, which has been in development for several years now, would bring Ivan Reitman back behind the camera, with Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson returning to bust some ghosts (and pass along the torch), alongside Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver (depending on what source you believe; and take into consideration the years of development could cause players to get cold feet).
And thanks to the team’s failed attempts dedication to bring Bill Murray back into the fold as Dr. Peter Venkman, the project has been in development hell for the better part of a decade. What’s interesting though is the roundabout news that, once again, Sony is looking to do Ghostbusters 3 as an animated film, a source exclusively reveals to Bloody Disgusting. This was the original plan back in 2007, which eventually resulted in the incredible 2009 video game.
Whether you blame Murray for stringing everyone along and not giving a flat “no” (though it seems he has done this several times), or you point your finger at Aykroyd and Reitman for agreeing accepting that string – it seems the damage to the project might be permanent. In the end, it looks like they may go with “Plan Z,” which would entail animating the feature and bringing the cast in for a few days of voice work. If I were a gambling man, I’d say Murray couldn’t turn down a massive paycheck for one day of work. (Cameron Diaz earned $3 million for Shrek, $10 million for Shrek 2, and a disturbing $30 million for Shrek The Third.) READ MORE
Here’s A Hilarious Recap Of All Of Sony’s PS4 Announcements, In Case You Missed Them
Sony unveiled the PS4 earlier this week, its controller, and even some of the games that will release on it. They had a lot to say, and like all press conferences, between those announcements was a lot of what Bruce Willis would refer to as chuffa. That’s unnecessary fluff to fill time, and because your time is very important, the lovely folks over at Video Gamer have recapped the entire event in little over three minutes. It’s also hilarious. Check it out after the jump.

These Are The Games We Know Are Coming To The PlayStation 4 (So Far)
It finally happened. Sony has revealed the PS4, and whether or not you’re happy about it, it’s what everyone is talking about. We still don’t know what the console itself looks like — personally, I’m hoping for something small, matte, and black. No more fingerprint magnets, please. We’ve only heard of a small number of the games we can expect to see on the console, but if the list so far is any indication, it’s looking way more exciting than the Wii U’s offering so far. After the break I’ve compiled a list of games and some details and trailers to help you decide if the PlayStation 4 has what you’re looking for.

The ‘Playstation 4′ Is Officially Unveiled!
The press conference is over, and the Playstation 4 Has been officially revealed! Even more crazy is they are planning on releasing the system this holiday season. Head past the break to check out all the notes I took during the press conference. Keep checking the video for the replay of the stream. It runs just about 2 hours long. It’s definitely worth the watch. I would assume someone has put it on YouTube by now. If the video past the break isn’t working go HERE to watch the stream over again if you missed it.

[TV] Kirk Ward Takes Over For Woody Harrelson In “Zombieland”
Amazon’s “Zombieland” pilot has cast Kirk Ward (The Island) in the role of Tallahassee, taking over for Woody Harrelson who portrayed the character in the film. He joins Majara Walsh, Izabela Vidovic and Tyler Ross in the cast of central leads.
And he might have been the first choice for the role, from back in the day before Zombieland became a feature. Per Deadline, “Reese and Wernick, who conceived Zombieland as a TV show, originally had Ward in mind for Tallahassee after meeting the actor while shooting the William Shatner-starring Spike TV limited series Invasion Iowa.”
The comedy continues the events of the original film, with new actors taking over the roles of Columbus, Tallahassee and Wichita, previously played by Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone, respectively, in the 2009 Ruben Fleischer feature. Wichita (Walsh) a natural con-woman and tough girl who with her younger sister Little Rock (Vidovic) teams up with Tallahassee (Ward) and Columbus (Ross) to survive the zombie apocalypse and search for survivors.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will pen the script for Sony Pictures Television, which is producing the Amazon pilot.
Design The Best PlayStation 4 Logo And Win $500
Sony is almost definitely unveiling the PlayStation 4 at an event in New York next week, so it’s not surprising that the Internet is all aflutter with what the console will look like and what Sony will do with the logo. The possibilities are endless, and if the logos the community at 99 Designs are coming up with are any indication, there are plenty of interesting ways to use the colors and symbols that have become iconic of the PlayStation brand. I have some of my favorite designs after the jump,
