Following the trend of Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row, the newly released Sleeping Dogs, a sandbox “take down the Triads” game, will feature a radio station that provides you with nothing but metal. However, Sleeping Dogs took it one step further and aligned themselves with Roadrunner Records. That’s right, the whole station is RR heavy rock and metal artists. If you tune in, you’ll be able to hear bands such as Opeth, Trivium, Killswitch Engage, DevilDriver, Black Stone Cherry, and more. Check below for the full list. READ MORE

Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo is kicking off 2011 by hitting the road for a US solo tour. Rizzo has released three solo albums, four records with Soulfly and one album with Cavalera Conspiracy. Tour dates are after the jump.
Soulfly has made a new track from their upcoming album ‘Omen’ available as a free mp3 download. The song “Rise of the Fallen” features a guest appearance by Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan. You can grab the band’s 7th album this May 25th from Roadrunner Records in either standard format or a special edition with bonus tracks.
It’s been roughly 14 years since Max Cavalera’s split from Sepultura and subsequently about 13 years since he formed Soulfly. 1998’s self-titled debut landed at #79 on the Billboard 200, while their next two albums ranked at #32 and #46 respectively. Their latest album “Omen” could put them back on the charts. Some tracks to be included are “Bloodbath and Beyond”, “Jeffrey Dahmer” and “Lethal Injection”. The band has also reportedly recorded several cover songs expected to be released as bonus tracks. Among these are Led Zeppelin’s “Four Sticks”, Sepultura’s “Refuse/Resist” and Excel’s “Your Life/My Life”. The album will be unleashed on May 4.
The band will kick off a U.S. tour with Prong, Incite and Rotting Corpse in March. More information on the tour and the new album can be found at the bands website: http://www.soulflyweb.com READ MORE
Longtime Roadrunner Records recording artist SOULFLY, lead by metal deity Max Cavalera, have just completed a stint at Edge of the Earth Studios in Los Angeles, where they recorded their seventh album. Roadrunner will release album, titled Omen, on May 4. Logan Mader served as co-producer. In the true Soulfly style and tradition, the album will feature notable guest appearances. Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato and Prong’s Tommy Victor will lend their voices to separate songs, while Max’s songs, Zyon and Igor, will also appear on special B-sides.
Of the collaborations, Cavalera said “The first one is a song with Tommy Victor from Prong sharing vocals on a song called ‘Lethal Injection.’ The other is ‘Rise of the Fallen,’ with shared vocals from Greg Puciato, Dillinger Escape Plan’s singer. I also recorded two B-sides with both of my sons playing drums. Igor Cavalera plays on Exel’s ‘Your Life, My Life,’ and Zyon Cavalera plays on Sepultura’s ‘Refuse/Resist’ cover.” READ MORE
