‘Resident Evil: Revelations’ Is Getting A Ridiculously Expensive Limited Edition

Did enough people drop $1,300 for that insanely overpriced Leon’s Jacket Edition of Resident Evil 6? Apparently they did, because Capcom’s announced a Jill’s Watch Edition — okay, fine, it’s called the Premium edition — for Resident Evil: Revelations, which is coming to consoles on May 21st. Now they’re giving you another chance to own a piece of Resident Evil apparel by including the watch Jill Valentine wears in Revelations, as well as the soundtrack, a BSAA wallet, and copy of the game. You can get all this for the low price of ¥39,900 or a little under $470 USD.

Sony recently took to their official blog to unveil the two very special editions of Naughty Dog’s upcoming post-apocalyptic PS3 exclusive The Last of Us, and after looking at them both I’m a little torn. Coming exclusively to North America are the $79.99 Survival Edition and a $149.99 Post-Pandemic Edition, which is targeted at the “true collector.” Full details after the break.

You hear that sound? That’s the sound of a lot of people getting angry over Dead Island: Riptide’s special edition. Unlike the Rigor Mortis Edition, which is actually pretty cool, Deep Silver decided that was far too tame so they designed the Zombie Bait Edition, which apparently has a target demographic of fucking serial killers. “What’s that on your mantle, George?” “Oh, you noticed that? That’s my bloody bust of a mangled woman. Her name’s Lola, isn’t she pretty? Hey, you want to come down to my dungeon, err, basement for a sec?” More after the break.

Back in October, Deep Silver asked fans what we would like to see in the Dead Island Riptide collector’s edition. Now the votes have been tallied, and the contents of the very special Rigor Mortis Edition have been unveiled. The items that proved the most popular are definitely the cooler ones from the list, though I’ll admit I am a little bummed the microfiber screen cleaning cloth didn’t make the cut. Start saving, because Dead Island: Riptide is coming on April 23rd to the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Publisher Deep Silver also announced a special edition that will come with a pack of weapon mods, a digital strategy map, unique box art, and an alternate character skin. This is not to be confused with the collector’s edition Deep Silver asked fans to vote on the contents for. There will also be a pre-order edition that will come with the weapon mod pack, but not the other goodies. No word on what the special edition will cost us yet, but assuming it doesn’t charge too much (and I don’t think it will), which edition are you most interested in?

Capcom is making Resident Evil 6 the most content heavy installment in their long-running series. It brings with it three campaigns that are each roughly 80% the length of the campaign in RE5. For those of you who skipped that game, you could beat it in about 3-4 hours, so it’s not quite as impressive as it might at first sound.
