‘The Reverend’ Has A New Release Date

The Reverend Has A New Release Date

The Reverend, based on the graphic novel of the same name, is now scheduled to be released in theaters in August 2012. It will have its UK DVD release around the same time.

Directed by writer Neil Jones, Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, Hobo With a Shotgun) will star alongside Stuart Brennan (Risen), Tamer Hassan (Clash of the Titans), Doug Bradley (Hellraiser, Jack Falls), Emily Booth (Doghouse, Evil Aliens) and Giovanni Lombardo Radice (Cannibal Ferox, The Omen).

Fresh from seminary school a new Reverend embarks on his first parish. A small, low maintenance Chapel based in the quiet idyllic setting of a quiet country village. While on the surface the village seems to be a peaceful parish, with perfect residents, soon it becomes apparent that something more sinister lurks beneath the façade of a local businessman. On a wet, cold night a mysterious girl visits The Reverend at the chapel. Cold and upset she is welcomed in warmly, soon it becomes apparent that her visit is not for sanctuary but to deliver a message, a message in the form of a deep, bloody bite… Awoken with an unknown, uncontrollable thirst a confused Reverend can find no evidence of the girl from the night before, with nothing but the thirst and memory of the bite, The Reverend embarks on his mandate, to clean up the village and the neighbouring estate, by preaching or feasting.

NewCabinLand30912 New Pics From The Cabin In The Woods Take You To The Dock

I swear I was only planning on having two The Cabin In The Woods pieces today. After all, even though the film is premiering at the SXSW Film Festival tonight – it has another month to go before you will be able to see it. And I don’t want to burn you out. However, the tides of the internet have turned and these new official stills have come ashore. I’m damned if I give them to you and “overhype” the movie, and I’m damned if I don’t give them to you because it’s my job.

Anyway, as long as you guys keep in mind that The Cabin In The Woods just a great movie, but not the cure for cancer, I can’t see how you’ll be disappointed when it hits on Friday, April 13th. You can look forward to one part of a great Drew Goddard interview before the film’s release, and a more spoilery segment after.

In the meantime, at least we have a few more great pics. This means we can switch out the pic of Anna Hutchinson kissing that wolf every now and then!

Chris Hemsworth, Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams and Brian White all star.

The first clip has surfaced (and quickly sinks) from Wrekin Hill Entertainment and Lionsgate’s Dark Tide, their shark thriller from Turistas director John Stockwell. Once renowned for swimming with Great White Sharks without the protection of a cage, Kate now spends her days giving mundane wildlife tours.
