‘Lollipop Chainsaw’ Is Already Grasshopper’s Most Successful Title To Date

Had Lollipop Chainsaw been developed by any other studio, the news that a game featuring a scantily clad chainsaw-wielding cheerleader who spends her free time kicking mountains of zombie ass sold well wouldn’t be all that surprising. However, this is a Suda 51 game, and his projects, which include Shadows of the Damned and No More Heroes, tend not to perform terribly well commercially. This makes the news that his studo has shipped 700,000 units worldwide just a little impressive. It’s also great news for fans of Suda 51′s work, because it could mean a potential sequel, or at the very least, more support for Grasshopper’s next game, the mysterious Killer Is Dead. Lollipop Chainsaw brings a little color to the world when it releases sometime next year for the PS3 and Xbox 360. READ MORE

Not quite sold? How about the fact that Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka is scoring the soundtrack? Still not sold? Man, you’re a tough sell. If I were a car dealer this is the point that I’d start pulling out the big guns, so I think I’ll do just that. Lollipop Chainsaw has pretty pink gore. That’s right, there’s no need to rub your eyes and re-read that last sentence because you read it right the first time. This game has pink blood.
