Suicidal Tendencies Announce Details For First New Album In 13 Years: Tour Dates Confirmed

Legendary punk/thrash band Suicidal Tendencies has announced that they will be releasing their first new album in 13 years and it is fittingly entitled 13. This is going to cause a little bit of confusion as Black Sabbath‘s new album is also called 13. Ah well, such is life.

The new album will be released March 26th via Suicidal Records and was produced by Mike Muir and Paul Northfield (Rush, Dream Theater, Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, Hole). This album marks the 30th anniversary of the band.

Lead vocalist Mike Muir states, “First, thank you for all the people that have patiently waited for this record. Now I will shut up and let the music do the talking.

Green Day Announces Dates For ¡UNO!, ¡DOS!, ¡TRÉ! Tour

Green Day have announced the full touring schedule for their ¡UNO!, ¡DOS!, ¡TRÉ! tour, which begins at the end of November and continues until a bit more than a week into Feb. 2013. The tour will be in support of their upcoming trilogy of albums entitled, you guessed it, ¡UNO!, ¡DOS!, and ¡TRÉ!. The full touring schedule can be seen below.

¡UNO! will be coming out Sept. 25th, the ¡DOS!, Nov. 13th, and the final album ¡TRÉ! will be released Jan. 15th, 2013.

I’m surprised that there isn’t a Detroit date. I’m sure if they played at the Palace Of Auburn Hills, they would sell it out within an hour. But this actually makes life much easier for me. Now I don’t have to avoid an area that will be permeated by 30-somethings wearing eyeliner and torn denim jackets with Suicidal Tendencies patches. Thanks Green Day for looking out for me! READ MORE

T.R.A.M. – Is This The New Music Supergroup?

So, a new music supergroup is about to emerge on the music scene and I’m cautiously optimistic about their sound: T.R.A.M.. Featuring Adrian Terrazas (The Mars Volta) on sax, flute, bass clarinet and percussion, Javier Reyes (Animals As Leaders) on guitars, Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders) on guitars, and Eric Moore (Suicidal Tendencies) on drums, T.R.A.M. will be performing their first live show at SXSW, March 17th at Venue 222. Keep an eye out on the Official Facebook for info as well a song debut in the next few weeks.

Now, here’s why I’m cautious in my optimism: each of these members is absurdly talented and now their instrument inside and out. However, just because you know your instrument and can play technically amazing things doesn’t mean that you can make relatable music. Here’s hoping I’m wrong because if done right, this band could be something truly special and amazing. READ MORE
