The pic follows a young girl from a wealthy Malibu family who fell under Manson’s spell. She was not one the “Family” members involved in the clan’s infamous murder spree, but Pitman was later imprisoned after she became involved with the Aryan Brotherhood and was convicted of being an accessory (after the fact) to murder.
Taryn Manning is set to star in the indie survivalist thriller The Shallows, set in the Florida Everglades, Variety reports.
“The story centers on five friends who adventure into the Florida Everglades for what promises to be an exciting trip that quickly turns deadly as they struggle to survive the horrors of the natural environment around them.”
Production is scheduled to begin next month in Florida with Noah Haeussner, Michael Raimondi and Sean Reycraf producing. Rupert Smith (“Man Vs. Wild”) is set to direct.
Manning guest starred recently in “Hawaii Five-O” and “Sons of Anarchy” and starred opposite Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci in the indie feature “Love Ranch.” READ MORE

A movie we’ve been covering exclusively on Bloody for almost a year now has finally gone behind cameras.
Manson Girls, focusing on the female followers of cult leader Charles Manson, has quietly started production nearly a year after the project was announced.
Susanna Lo is producing via her Slomotion Studios and directing from her own script, with Taryn Manning (pictured), Tania Raymonde, Monica Keena, Stella Maeve, Estella Warren, Chad Faust, Ron Jeremy, Eric Balfour, and Bill Moseley all starring, as previously reported in various stories here on Bloody.
Manson Girls focuses on the period leading up to the 1969 murders of nine people. Manson and three followers were convicted in 1971 in the slayings. Lo told Variety that she’s aiming to illustrate how and why the girls came under Manson’s command.
“The girls were all very talented but it was a very seductive time,” she said. “We really don’t want to sensationalize the story any further than it already has been. I’ve always been fascinated by how the girls came under the spell of this strange, manipulative man.”
Manson is serving a life sentence in a California prison. READ MORE
