[BD Contest] Meet Our First “Deadite Of The Day” Sean Gooding!!!

Did you miss our initial post on regarding the Deadite Of The Day contest? If not – don’t worry. We’re accepting submissions up until April 3rd at [email protected] (head inside for the full list of rules)! Winners will be announced daily from March 25th – April 5th (weekends excluded). Submissions will be open the whole time, so if you see something you think you can top… TOP IT!

I figured I’d start this off with a bang and announce a winner with one of the most extensive collections of anything I’ve ever seen! His name is Sean Gooding (@GonzoSean on Twitter) and he also runs the site Deadites Online. In his own words, “Up until a few years ago I owned a very large Evil Dead Collection, these pictures were from the height of my collecting days, I still own the full Scale replica of Ash’s chainsaw from Evil Dead 2 and some boxed figures and Blu Rays.” He also included a sketch of Ash that he did that’s pretty badass too.

Sadly, Sean hails from the UK. So if he wants to be eligible for the signed poster he needs to have someone in the US it can be mailed to. Hopefully he does! Though – again – we still have 9 more winners to announce who are also eligible. Head inside to check out his awesome former collection of stuff! It’s f*cking AMAZING!!! You’ll also find the original rules for the contest below the picture gallery! READ MORE

Sign This ‘Include Body Modification in Equal Opportunity Employment’ Petition PLEASE!

I know this isn’t video game or horror related, but it’s something I think a lot of people on here would agree with and like to see. A petition has surfaced online with the sole purpose of getting Body Modification added to Equal Opportunity Employment rights. I 100 percent support this being someone with many extra holes in his head, and with many friends and family who are tattooed, pierced, etc. The main purpose of this is to prove that your job qualifications do not reflect the way you look. Just because you chose to tattoo yourself up, or put some extra holes in your face doesn’t mean you can’t do your job and do it well.

I’ve been in that situation before. Back in high school I had green hair, and piercings (that I still have) and I tried to get a job at Walgreens. They weren’t too keen on those extras and wouldn’t give me the job. Too bad for them, because I was never a bad kid, didn’t do drugs, and I always worked my hardest at any other job I had. Even now I have to de-pierce my face every day I go into my job, and it sucks. It gives me that feeling like the man is still holding me down or something. Times are changing, practically every single friend I have has some sort of body modification. Though it’s slowly being more accepted, we’re still miles away from where we should be. If you’re interested please SIGN THE PETITION HERE! Share with your friends, on Facebook, etc, spread the word! READ MORE

Review: The Immortal: Demon In The Blood #1 and #2

There is something that is always appealing about samurai and the point in Japan’s history that takes place immediately before guns took over. This is the setting for Dark Horse’s new comic titled, The Immortal, and it works perfectly. As with all good samurai stories lots of blood and guts are involved, as well as … heart eating demons? Ok, Heart eating demons may not be a staple in other samurai tales, but it works nicely for The Immortal.

Van Halen Release New Single ‘Tattoo’: It Kinda Sucks

Van Halen Release New Single Tattoo: It Kinda Sucks
Van Halen have released Tattoo, the first single from their upcoming album A Different Kind Of Truth, which comes out Feb. 7th. You can check out the official video below. Problem is, the song kinda sucks. No, scratch that. It really sucks. Even if you took out the poorly synced video, the fact that it looks like David Lee Roth keeps forgetting his lines, and the “we’re gonna shoot in black and white for the sake of looking artistic even though NOTHING ARTISTIC IS HAPPENING” look, the song is just plain boring. There is no spice or pizazz. There is no excitement. It’s just a generic rock song that is destined to go in one ear and out the other. Honestly, even though I listened to it just a few minutes ago, I’ve already forgotten the melodies.
Check it out below and, if for some reason you still feel so inclined, you can preorder the album on iTunes.

Another brand new horror title is flying in your face from Dark Horse next week, The Immortal: Demon in the Blood. Dabbling in epic samurai action, this new title focuses on a warrior who loses it all and finds salvation in the ancient magic of tattoo art. sounds pretty darn good, right? The Immortal: Demon in the Blood is in fact an adaptation of the award winning Japanese novel, Ura-Enma by Fumi Nakamura. If you dig tattoo art and samurais (who doesn’t) then this little guy will have you jacked. Check the four-pager right here.
