‘Iron Man 3′ Trailer Already Better Than Anything In ‘Iron Man 2′

Nope. Not even remotely horror. But since this is the “Comics” page, we figured we’d be remiss in our duties to you if we didn’t report on some of the bigger comic-related news here and there – and the trailer for Iron Man 3 certainly qualifies. And I dig this trailer, it hints at a much more focussed (and darker) narrative than the utter mess that was . The fact that Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) is behind the wheel for this one gets me legitimately excited.

The film, “ pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley. It opens May 13th, 2013. Head inside for the trailer! READ MORE

Here It Is!! The Gory First Footage From The New ‘Evil Dead’!!!

The first look at Fede Alvarez’s hotly anticipated Evil Dead remake is here, and Sam Raimi would be proud (I know Bruce Campbell is). Sony debuted some footage from the film at this past weekend’s panel at the New York Comic-Con and the audience, in a word, went apesh*t. And now footage from the panel has surfaced. This reboot of the 1981 Sam Raimi classic The Evil Dead, looks nuts! While we’ll likely be getting a high-rez look at this footage soon, even this shaky representation lets us know we should be expecting something intense. Thanks to reader JillKills for the heads up.

In the remake starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Elizabeth Blackmore, Jessica Lucas and Bruce Campbell, “Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Check out the official website and Facebook page. The Book of the Dead is opened on April 12, 2013. Head inside for the footage. READ MORE

Here’s The Teaser For The ‘Carrie’ Remake!!!

Sony held their NYCC panel over the weekend, during which they debuted the teaser for Carrie, their reboot starring Chloë Grace Moretz as the title character. And now? Now we have that teaser! And it looks surprisingly large in scope, actually. It primarily features voiceover amongst shots of an absolutely destroyed town, which kind of backs up the filmmakers’ promise that this is based more on the book than the DePalma film. In the book the town is almost completely destroyed. Maybe in the next one we’ll get more carnage – though this does feature a bloodied up Carrie (with the colors muted for green band trailer compatibility). You rating hounds don’t need to worry though, they’ve assured us that the film is R-Rated.

A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.” Brian De Palma’s 1976 film version of Carrie earned Oscar nominations for stars Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie.

Carrie is in theaters March 15, 2013. Head inside for the footage! READ MORE

‘The Lords of Salem’ Trailer Is Finally Here!!!

After premiering at the Midnight Madness portion of TIFF, Anchor Bay Films emerged as the new home for Rob Zombie’s The Lords Of Salem. Under the agreement, Anchor Bay will handle all U.S. distribution rights on the film. The first trailer premiered this afternoon. Check it out below and tell us what you think!

Written and directed by Rob Zombie, The Lords of Salem stars Sheri Moon Zombie (House of 1,000 Corpses, Halloween) as well as Bruce Davison (X-Men), Jeff Daniel Phillips (Halloween 2), Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead), Patricia Quinn (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), Dee Wallace (E.T.) and Judy Geeson (To Sir, With Love).

Rock star-turned-horror maven Rob Zombie conjures up a nerve-wracking chiller involving Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie), a radio station DJ, who receives a wooden box containing a vinyl record, “a gift from the Lords.” She assumes it’s from a band trying to promote themselves. Heidi and others listen but unbeknownst to them, the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of Salem’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad or are the Lords of Salem returning for revenge on modern day Salem?

Trailer For ‘Spiders 3D’ Falls Exactly In Line With Expectations

A couple of months back we brought you some exclusive images from Millenium/Nu Image’s Spiders 3D and now we’ve got the full trailer. It doesn’t disappoint, nor does it blow me away. Rather, it’s exactly what I expected. If this is your type of movie, the trailer will certainly confirm that!

In the film, “following the crash of a derelict Soviet space station into a Manhattan subway tunnel, a new species of spider is discovered in the wreckage. But when the spiders mutate to gigantic proportions, an average NYC subway worker (Patrick Muldoon) is forced to step up in order to save his family and all of New York from the destructive giant spiders wreaking havoc throughout the city.

Directed by Tibor Takacs (The Gate, Ice Spiders), Spiders 3D also stars Christa Campbell, Jon Mack, William Hope and Sydney Sweeney. Head inside to check it out! READ MORE

[Special Report] More From The Bulgaria Set Of ‘Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines’ And Part Two Of Our Interview With Director Declan O’Brien!

With Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, director and writer Declan O’Brien (Wrong Turn 3: Left For Dead, Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings, Sharktopus) returns to helm of his third film in the franchise, with Doug Bradley (best known for his role of “Pinhead” in the Hellraiser films) in a pivotal role. Camilla Arfwedson, Roxanne McKee, Simon Ginty, Oliver Hoare, Amy Lennox, Duncan Wisbey, Kyle Redmond-Jones, Peter Brooke, Emilia Klayn, Rosie Holden and Andrew Bone round out the cast.

In the next chilling chapter of ‘Wrong Turn,’ a small West Virginia town is hosting the legendary Mountain Man Festival on Halloween, where throngs of costumed partygoers gather for a wild night of music and mischief. But an inbred family of hillbilly cannibals kill all the fun when they trick and treat themselves to a group of visiting college students who are dying for a good time.

Back in May, I visited the set in Sofia, Bulgaria and came back with some thoughts on the production – not to mention a bunch of pics! I’ve already written in with Part One of my visit (and a contest winner’s set report can be found here.) Now I’m ready to share my final thoughts and the second installment of my video interview with Declan O’Brien – if you’re a fan of the franchise you won’t want to miss it.

Full Trailer For Takashi Miike’s ‘A Lesson Of The Evil’!

Takashi Miike – the Japanese master of gore responsible for such classics as Audition, Dead or Alive, Three…Extremes, Visitor Q, Gozu, One Missed Call and Ichi the Killer – is heading back to the genre he abandoned all those years ago.

A new trailer has just been released (via Twitch) for Miike’s film adaptation of Yusuke Kishi’s bestselling 2010 novel “Aku no Kyoten” (aka A Lesson of the Evil). And it expands upon the teaser nicely!

The movie stars Hideaki Ito (pictured) in a role quite a bit darker than what he’s usually known for. He’ll be playing “A teacher named Seiji Hasumi who’s loved by his students and respected by his peers. However, his outward charm masks his true nature. In reality, Hasumi is a psychopath who is unable to feel empathy for other human beings. Specifically, he has a severe antisocial personality disorder. Because of his mental condition, Hasumi chooses to deal with problems like bullying and overbearing “monster parents” the easy way—by systematically murdering his students.

A theatrical release is slated for November. Head inside to check it out! READ MORE

First Clip From ‘Frankenweenie’ Looks Gorgeous!

Walt Disney Pictures has released the first clip from Frankenweenie, Tim Burton’s latest animated feature in which a young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences.

The clip looks amazing and the stop motion is gorgeous but the jury’s still out on Burton’s main weakness as of late – storytelling. Here’s hoping!

The voice cast includes four actors who worked with Burton on previous films: Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands), Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas), Martin Short (Mars Attacks!) and Martin Landau (Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow), while Charlie Tahan and Atticus Shaffer were later added.

Frankenweenie jumps into your lap on October 5th. Head inside for the clip! READ MORE

New Trailer For ‘Inbred’ Asks You To Hold Your Breath

I haven’t seen Inbred (though Mr. Disgusting is not a fan) but it will be arriving on UK Blu-ray and DVD October 8 after its theatrical run starting September 21. It will aslo screen at the London FrightFest this month. And now we have a new trailer that shows off the hillbilly glroy of this thing for around 52 seconds.

Starring Jo Hartley (This is England 86/88, Ill Manors) and Seamus O’NeilL (Dead Man’s Shoes, War Horse) as well as upcoming stars; James Burrows (Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood) and Nadine Rose Mulkerrin (Waterloo Road).

Four young urban offenders and their care workers embark on a community service weekend in the strange, remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides on keeping itself to itself. Visiting the local pub, ‘The Dirty Hole’ which serves home-made (and suspiciously hairy) pork scratchings, they quickly realise they’ve made the wrong holiday choice. A minor incident with some local inbred youths rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare for all involved and it’s just a case of who will survive, and what will be left of them?
