Capcom is going all out with Resident Evil 6. Four campaigns and a bevvy of multiplayer modes, including the return of the deliciously addictive Mercenaries mode make this installment in the iconic horror franchise the most ambitious one yet. I’ve spent a good amount of time with the game so far, and damn. Unfortunately, that’s all I can say right now, so if you’d like to hear more I suggest keeping an eye on Dead Pixels for my review, which will be going live Monday morning. Until then, I have the trailer that premiered at Tokyo Game Show last week that you should definitely watch. Check it out after the break. READ MORE
I usually shy away from covering things like this but if it turns out to be true this is just too exciting not to share. An intriguing rumor has just started making its rounds about the vast and knowledgeable bundle of tubes we call the Internet, and this time it’s regarding the long-awaited Resident Evil 6. Supposedly, the next installment in Capcom’s longstanding action/horror franchise will be officially unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show this september. What could end up being the game’s logo was taken from a closed doors press conference at Comic-Con. Check it out.
The date below the logo reads September 15th, so we can probably expect the info to hit then. Mark the date on your calendar because if this rumor is true we could end up hearing something about this highly anticipated game sooner than expected. Let’s just hope they took our advice and brought the series back to its horror roots. READ MORE
Tokyo Game Show is here and so far it’s the most exciting gaming event of the year, for horror fans at least. The most exciting news, at least for me, was the unveiling of the collaborative effort between Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, No More Heroes creator Suda51, and Silent Hill composer/producer Akira Yamaoka: the new action horror project, officially dubbed Shadows of the Damned.
But that’s certainly not it, there’s also been news on Resident Evil 6, Dead Space 2 multiplayer details, the exciting reveal of Project Dark by the guys who made the amazing Demon’s Souls, a Devil May Cry reboot, and two limb-flailing horror games for the Kinect. READ MORE
Haunt will be a not so scary Xbox 360 Kinect horror game. It looks like in the game you will be exploring a cartoony haunted mansion. The game looks to be 1st person type exploration. Nothing much else is known. No release date either. Trailer below, screens past the break.
Is there anything more satisfying than stabbing a flying demon in the chest with a stake? Well, I can’t think of anything. Castlevania Lords Of Shadow. Lets talk about it. It looks INCREDIBLE. Think of Earth like purgatory where the souls of the damned are doomed to wander. But they don’t just wander, they leave a horrible path of destruction in their wake. Wrapped up in the destruction is Gabriel, whose wife is murdered by the demons known as the Lords Of Shadow, he swears revenge.
The game is set to release October 5th on the Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. Screens past the break. READ MORE
Tokyo Game Show. Video game heaven. Adam Dodd has been chatting about this mystery horror game being worked on for a while now. He even dedicated an entire epic article about the “Game That Could Redefine Horror”. Well after FOREVER of waiting, it’s here. Shadows Of The Damned. Check out the trailer below.
The game is being created from 3 masterminds. Executive director Suda51 (director of No More Heroes), creative producer Shinji Mikami (director of Resident Evil) and music composer Akira Yamaoka (sound director of Silent Hill). Doesn’t get much better than that. The game is looking to be released next summer on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Head past the break for more info and screens. READ MORE
Back in April I let loose my inner fanboy and talked all crazy like about an unannounced multi-platform action/horror game that’s (not-so) secretly in development by some of the most talented designers in the industry. I predicted it could “redefine horror”, despite knowing little about the title, and then predicted we would see it at E3. Well, the latter prediction turned out to be wrong but the former is still entirely possible, and when the Tokyo Game Show rolls around next month we’ll know a little more about the game as it will be announced at the event.
We’re nearing the end of the summer games drought, with some major releases preparing to hit shelves, and our consoles, next month. Combine that with TGS and September is looking pretty great right now. So to tide you over, why don’t you check out the biggest horror headlines, including some updates on Dead Space 2, a Halloween RPG, Left 4 Dead 2’s new DLC, and some nightmare-inducing Pokemon. Hopefully all this will help numb the pain that was left after Doom 4 failed to show its beautiful face at QuakeCon earlier this month. READ MORE
A decade has passed since the first game, and the face of E.D.N. III has changed dramatically. Terraforming efforts have been successful and the ice has begun to melt, giving way to lush tropical jungles and harsh unforgiving deserts. Players will enter this new environment and follow the exploits of their own customized snow pirate on their quest to seize control of the changing planet.
Head past the break for screen shots, Lost Planet 2 will be out the 1st quarter of 2010 on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. READ MORE
While much the same, Dead Rising 2 offers you many more magical ways to kill zombies. The 1st game was full of fun hilarious ways to kill zombies and Dead Rising 2 is going to spice it up a lot. Remember the roll cages from American Gladiators? Oh yeah. Pitchfork shotgun? Oh yeah.
I’d keep telling you more about Dead Space, but what more do you need to know? Tons of screens, videos, info. So just take it in and check out this video and the screens beyond the break from Tokyo Game Show. Game is out on the Wii September 29th.
