The story begins thirty years ago when a depraved assault during a Halloween costume ball shattered a young woman’s mind, turning her into a brutal mass murderer. Dressed in her rival’s blood-soaked wedding gown, the legend of the Butcher Bride was born. Now, decades later everyone who enters the Silas Mansion will discover a frightening spirit ravenous to satisfy perverse appetites. Death is the only escape.
Last week we brought readers an exclusive interview with “THE DEAD SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH” author Vince Churchill, whose newest book “THE BUTCHER BRIDE” looks to fill the void for anyone looking for some 70s nostalgia. Now today we have my review of the horror shock-writer’s newest offering that promises to test the tolerance level of even the most disenchanted of readers. Read on for the full review.
There are many voices in contemporary horror fiction today, but none as blunt as Vince Churchill. The “DEAD SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH” scribe is as subtle as a blunt instrument to the head, with a writing style straight out of a 70’s exploitation flick that is equal parts unflinching and daring in its portrayal of the horrors that humanity is capable of. The perfect example of this is Vince’s newest offering, “THE BUTCHER BRIDE”, which is a guaranteed guilty pleasure for those fans of the grindhouse era exploitation flicks. I had the opportunity to sit and talk to Vince about his work exclusively for Bloody-Disgusting.
