Add The First Still From ‘The Collection’ To Your… Collection

The Collection, the hotly anticipated sequel to Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton’s slasher The Collector is finally a fast approaching reality. First there were the great reactions to the test screening out of New Jersey and now we’ve got the first still from the film, which is creepy indeed.

Josh Stewart, Lee Tergesen, Christopher McDonald, Johnny Yong Bosch, Emma Fitzpatrick, Shannon Kane, Tim Griffin, William Peltz, Eaddy Mays, Michael Nardelli, Justin Mortelliti, Michael H. Cole, Arloa Reston and Courtney Lauren Cumming all star in the sequel that could hit theaters later this year.

Arkin (Stewart) escapes with his life from the vicious grips of “The Collector” during an entrapment party where he adds beautiful Elena to his “Collection.” Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena’s wealthy father. Arkin is blackmailed to team up with the mercenaries and track down The Collector’s booby trapped hide out and save Elena from his sadistic rituals.

Head inside for the still. It’s not all that big, so we’ll update when a high-rez one is released. READ MORE

[News Bites] ‘The Collection’ Nearly Completed, ‘Walking Dead’ Cast Update & An Extended Look At ‘True Blood’!

True Blood Source has shared the following extended look at HBO’s “Waiting Sucks” promo for the forthcoming fifth season of “True Blood” featuring Sookie (Anna Paquin), Alcide (Joe Manganiello) and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis). The new season premieres June 10 on HBO. You guys will have to tell me if it gets any better, I’ve officially bailed after it jumped the shark and went shirtless in season 4. “Season 5 will explore more fairies, new fairies, fairies in a way you haven’t really seen fairies,” said co-executive producer Raelle Tucker last September.

Moving in the opposite direction is AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” which has a strong showing finishing out the second season. They killed off a few of the weak characters (although I’ll forever miss Shane), and now have decided to pick up the development of the “better” actors. What do I mean by this? Well, clearly Lauren Cohan is one of the best actors on the zombie saga, and she’s being rewarded with some job security. TVLine reports that the actress — who recurred throughout the AMC smash’s killer second season as Hershel’s eldest daughter, Maggie — has been elevated to a full-fledged series regular. While the promotion would seem to indicate that Glenn’s sweetheart will figure prominently in the show’s upcoming third season, it by no means guarantees she’ll make it out of the season alive. Jon Bernthal and Jeffrey DeMunn were both full-timers when their characters, Shane and Dale respectively, were whacked, the site notes. “The Walking Dead”‘s 16-episode third season, slated to premiere this fall, will likely be divided into two part (much the same way Season 2 was).

Ending this illustrious Friday the 13th is a HUGE update from The Collection co-writer Patrick Melton, who revealed via Twitter that they’re in the final days of mixing the Marcus Dunstan-directed sequel to The Collector. He shared the following image. Josh Stewart, Lee Tergesen, Christopher McDonald, Johnny Yong Bosch, Emma Fitzpatrick, Shannon Kane, Tim Griffin, William Peltz, Eaddy Mays, Michael Nardelli, Justin Mortelliti, Michael H. Cole, Arloa Reston and Courtney Lauren Cumming all star. “Arkin (Josh Stewart) escapes with his life from the vicious grips of “The Collector” during an entrapment party where he adds beautiful Elena to his “Collection.” Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena’s wealthy father. Gary Tunnicliffe Teases ‘The Collection’

Production is close to getting underway on The Collection as special effects artists Gary Tunnicliffe posted the following “teaser” image on his Facebook page. Josh Stewart will return in as “Arkin”, a man who survived the grasp of the first film’s killer. Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena’s (who was kidnapped in the first film) wealthy father.
