Prog/jazz fusion metal band The Dillinger Escape Plan have released a fantastic music video for “When I Lost My Bet”, which comes from the band’s upcoming album One Of Us Is The Killer (out May 14th via Sumerian Records). The highly stylized, chaotic, frenzied video is full of blood and gore and is what I would imagine Jan Švankmajer’s films would look like were he a bit more macabre. While I’m not a fan of the band, I was definitely hooked by the video and highly recommend giving it a watch below.

Progressive metal band The Dillinger Escape Plan have released a six and a half minute video that features samples from all of the tracks from their upcoming album One Of Us Is The Killer, which comes out May 14th via Sumerian Records. The new album was recorded in Southern California with longtime producer Steve Evetts (Glassjaw, The Cure, Suicide Silence), with additional production at guitarist/co-founder Ben Weinman’s studio. The Summer Slaughter 2013 Tour lineup has been announced and it’s full of some amazing acts! Headlining the tour will be The Dillinger Escape Plan with prog-metal masters Animals As Leaders and Periphery also on the bill. You’ll also get a chance to see Norma Jean, The Ocean, Cattle Decapitation, and more.

Prog-metal band The Dillinger Escape Plan has announced a full N. American tour that will see them touring with The Faceless and Royal Thunder. TDEP will kick off the tour at the New England Metal & Hardcore Fest and will also include a performance at the Revolver Golden Gods award show. The tour is in support of the band’s upcoming album One Of Us Is A Killer, which comes out May 14th.

Guitar Ben Weinman comments, “It’s been a while since we’ve been out doing what we do best. We’re excited to present this album to the world.”

Prog-metal band The Dillinger Escape Plan has announced that they will be releasing their fifth studio album, One Of Us Is The Killer, this May. The new album was recorded in Southern California with longtime producer Steve Evetts (Glassjaw, The Cure, Suicide Silence), with additional production at guitarist/co-founder Ben Weinman’s studio. Mastering will be handled by Tom Baker (Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys). The album cover has been revealed and can be seen below.

The lineup for California Metalfest 6 has been released and it is packed full of heavy bands. Included is headliner Killswitch Engage who will be performing their 2002 album Alive Or Just Breathing in its entirety for the first time ever in celebration of its 10th anniversary. The event will be held at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA on Saturday, November 24th. WWE superstar “Mankind” Mick Foley will be hosting the event along with several other TBA special guests. Tickets for the event can be found here.

Mastodon have announced a North American tour starting Nov. 1st in LA that sees them hitting the road with The Dillinger Escape Plan and Red Fang. The tour will be hitting 24 cities, so check after the jump to see if they’re coming to your neck of the woods.

When I look back on this past year in music I took into consideration the albums I was looking forward to, the albums I didn’t see coming, and the songs that got stuck in my head all day. In conjunction with the upcoming release Automata from the alternative metal act Return To Earth, Metal Blade Records has launched a LANDING PAGE where fans can go to check out music, two teaser videos that showcase music from the upcoming album, specially low priced preorder packages, an in-the-studio-video, and video footage of Chris Pennie (ex-Dillinger/current Coheed drummer) at the 2010 Modern Drummer Festival. The first single currently streaming is for the track Back of My Hand with more tracks to come before the album is released on August 17.

This will feature the album version and a special remix courtesy of Big Chocolate (aka, Cameron Argon of Disfiguring the Goddess & Burning the Masses). Suicide Silence will be hosting this week’s Headbanger’s Ball on MTV2. Singer Mitch and guitarist Mark will be talking about the writing process for their upcoming third album, the making of the “Wake Up” music video, as well as the upcoming Warped Tour where they will be performing with such artists as Andrew W.K., Every Time I Die, Sum 41, and The Dillinger Escape Plan. The episode will also feature a full promo video history of Suicide Silence.
