The Dillinger Escape Plan Release Bloody, Violent Video For “When I Lost My Bet”

Prog/jazz fusion metal band The Dillinger Escape Plan have released a fantastic music video for “When I Lost My Bet”, which comes from the band’s upcoming album One Of Us Is The Killer (out May 14th via Sumerian Records). The highly stylized, chaotic, frenzied video is full of blood and gore and is what I would imagine Jan Švankmajer’s films would look like were he a bit more macabre. While I’m not a fan of the band, I was definitely hooked by the video and highly recommend giving it a watch below.

TDEP is currently on tour with The Faceless and Royal Thunder. All tour dates are below. READ MORE

[Premiere] We’ve Got The Teaser For Nekrogoblikon’s “No One Survives”

Readers, mark your calendars for Sept. 4th. On that date, Bloody-Disgusting will be premiering what might be one of the greatest music videos of all time: Nekrogoblikon‘s “No One Survives”. Yeah, I went there. “Big words,” you say? I’m holding firm and standing my ground. I’ve seen more music videos than I care to think about, so I feel pretty confident in this claim. Below is a teaser for the video.

The song comes from Nekrogoblikon’s 2011 album Stench, which you can snag off of Bandcamp (I highly recommend it. It’s loads of fun). You can also follow the band on their official Facebook.

The band will also be playing at the The Grove in Anaheim, CA on Aug. 25th as part of the Summer Slaughter tour, which features Cannibal Corpse, Periphery, Between The Buried And Me, The Faceless, and many more. Tickets can be found here. READ MORE

[Exclusive] NSFW Video Premiere For Job For A Cowboy’s “Tarnished Gluttony”

Bloody-Disgusting has teamed up with Metal Blade Records artist Job For A Cowboy to bring you an amazing, intense music video for their song “Tarnished Gluttony”, which comes off their latest album Demonocracy. Directed by Michael Panduro (the man behind the fantastic Cephalic CarnageOhrwurm” video), the video is deceptively subtle, almost poetic. Suddenly, everything changes in one horrific moment. Featuring strong Lovecraft-ian elements, this music video is definitely NSFW, so take heed and be careful where you watch it.

Between The Buried And Me Discuss New Album

Metal Blade Records artist Between The Buried And Me will be releasing The Parallax II: Full Sequence, their seventh full-length studio album, on October 9th. Jamie King, friend of the band and producer, engineered, mixed, and mastered the album while Chandler Owen has taken care of the artwork.

The album is a continuation of the story of their 2011 EP, The Parallax: Hypersleep. Guitarist Paul Waggoner further explains, “The two main characters of the story take on a journey through space and time with the unenviable task of having to cure the flaws of humanity by any means necessary. While the EP served mostly as an introduction to the characters, Future Sequence contains the action of the story. The lyrics are written in the stream of consciousness style, which really helps to capture the perspective and emotion of the characters. We really enjoyed the challenge of writing this record, and I think we were all pleasantly surprised with how well the music and lyrics jived with one another. I couldn’t be happier with how Future Sequence turned out.”

Read on for more information from vocalist/keyboardist Tommy Rogers as well as the official artwork for the album and tour dates for The Summer Slaughter Tour, which sees BTBAM touring with bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Periphery, Veil of Maya, and many more. READ MORE

Job For A Cowboy Bassist To Miss Several Summer Slaughter Dates

Nick Schendzielos, bassist of Job For A Cowboy, will be forced to sit out the first few weeks of the Summer Slaughter Tour due to his girlfriend being involved in a head-on collision on her scooter. Mike “Gunface” McKenzie from The Red Chord will be taking his place during that time. All tour dates for the festival, which is headlined by Cannibal Corpse and features bands such as Periphery, Between The Buried and Me, The Faceless, and more, can be seen below.

Comments Schendzielos: “Hey friends: On June 28, immediately after landing in Boston to rehearse for Puerto Rico/Summer Slaughter, my girlfriend was in a head-on collision on her scooter. She sustained very serious head and bodily injuries. I flew right home, and we’ve been in the ICU for a week and are still in the hospital to make sure everything is okay. She needs 24/7 supervision for at least two weeks once we get out of here, so I’m very grateful to announce that Gunface from The Red Chord is going to help me out filling in on Summer Slaughter until I can meet back up with it. We love the dude very much and it’s going to be really cool for both JFAC and TRC fans to see. Enormous thanks for understanding this difficult situation and I’ll be back as soon as possible!”

Adds McKenzie: “I’m excited to be playing with JFAC on this tour. Great dudes in this band as well as in the bands on Summer Slaughter. Playing bass is a little different for me but definitely an interesting challenge. I’m definitely looking forward to getting out on the road again. Nick’s bass work is incredible and I’m working hard to get all of his parts down. Sending positive vibes out to him and his lady.”

My best wishes go out to Schendzielos’ girlfriend on a speedy recovery. READ MORE

Casey Lagos Announces Solo Project ‘Sealakes’

Sealakes, the new solo project from Casey Lagos debuted a video of Lagos recording the song Go Again on  www.myspace.com/sealakes.  Lagos plays drums, guitar, bass, piano and performs vocals for the project.  “I started playing drums and guitar when I was three years old.  I usually write songs by a riff appearing in my head and from there I can imagine the whole arrangement with drums” Lagos said.  Two songs Go Again and Every Heart appear on the myspace page and hint at the muscular yet melodic approach of the project.
Though only 22 Casey Lagos has been a professional musician for over six years.  The Orange County CA resident was a founding member of Stick To Your Guns who released their first album on Sumerian Records (The Faceless, Asking Alexandria) when he was sixteen.  Around the same time Lagos was playing drums for rhythmic hardcore unit, The Warriors which afforded him the experience and connections to give Stick To Your Guns a good kick off.  After years of touring and contributing writing for a significant portion of Stick To Your Guns sophomore album Comes From The Heart (Century Media 2008) Lagos left to pursue a different path.  ’After I was done playing with Stick To Your Guns I wasn’t sure what direction to head in.  I knew music was the only thing I ever did well in but there weren’t any doors open at the time.  It’s a crazy story but I went to a prayer group that’s part of my church. I told the lady running it that I just needed to see God’s direction clear as water and after praying she said God would give me a voice and he wants me to use it for him.  I had always had a clean singing voice since I was a kid, but that hit me like a ton of bricks. On the drive home I tried to scream, which i could never do before, and it came out with ease, every time I got goosebumps. I then had all the pieces to the puzzle, seeing as I could already write music, the vocals were all of a sudden there, and I knew what I had to do.’
