[Exclusive] Stream Drop Goblin’s ‘The Gate’ EP + Free Download

Ultragore Records artist Drop Goblin has teamed up with Bloody-Disgusting to stream his upcoming EP The Gate, which is heavily influenced by the 1987 Tibor Takács horror film of the same name. The EP will be released Monday, May 6th via Ultragore Records. Below you can listen to the full EP as well as snag a free download of “The Gate (Vocal Edit)”.

Drop Goblin states, “The Gate is completely horror themed and tells a story of demonic domination inspired by the 1987 film. Each element is custom layered using aggressive Dubstep production and Heavy-Metal guitar riff-age to tell the story of a Demon walking through the gate to cause havoc to the world, and to further define the term ‘Metalstep’

‘The Gate’ Finds A Writer, Is Moving Forward

Director Matt Westrup is getting ready to make The Gate, a feature version of his short of the same name. Wayfare Entertainment will be financing and helping him develop the idea and now they’ve found a screenwriter who can tease it out to feature length, Mitchell Akselrad

Per Variety “Wayfare Entertainment has tapped Mitchell Akselgard to pen the adaptation of the short ‘The Gate.’
Wayfare is financing and producing. Matt Westrup, who helmed the original short, is set to direct. Akselrad most recently penned ‘Agent,’ which New Regency picked up.

New Image And Premiere Info For ‘Spiders 3D’!

A couple weeks back we brought you some exclusive images from Millenium/Nu Image’s Spiders 3D and now we’ve got another one to share – along with some screening info. This thing looks like it could be a lot of fun if you’re into the “giant species run amok” subgenre.

Today, the Los Angeles 3D Film Festival announced that Spiders 3D will enjoy its world premiere during the festival’s opening night gala celebration on Thursday, September 20th at the Regal Cinemas LA Live Stadium 14 at 10 pm.

In the film, “following the crash of a derelict Soviet space station into a Manhattan subway tunnel, a new species of spider is discovered in the wreckage. But when the spiders mutate to gigantic proportions, an average NYC subway worker (Patrick Muldoon) is forced to step up in order to save his family and all of New York from the destructive giant spiders wreaking havoc throughout the city.

Directed by Tibor Takacs (The Gate, Ice Spiders), Spiders 3D also stars Christa Campbell, Jon Mack, William Hope and Sydney Sweeney. Head inside for the pic! READ MORE

Matt Westrup To Open ‘The Gate’ Up Into A Feature Film

Director Matt Westrup is getting ready to make The Gate, a feature version of his short of the same name. Wayfare Entertainment will be financing and helping him develop the idea and the first step is finding a screenwriter who can tease it out to feature length.

Per Deadline, “Wayfare Entertainment has acquired the rights to produce and finance a feature-length version of the short thriller The Gate from its director Matt Westrup and producer Spencer Friend. Westrup will direct the feature version, while Friend will produce with Wayfare’s Browning and Sarah Shepard.

The Gate

After an old tree is removed from the ground, three young children accidentally release a horde of nasty, pint-sized demons from the hole in a suburban backyard. What follows is a classic battle between good and evil as the three kids struggle to overcome a nightmarish hell that is literally taking over the Earth.
