The Real Tuesday Weld Release Video For ‘Tear Us Apart’

Funny, I just posted a story about David Lynch and the video for The Real Tuesday Weld‘s Tear Us Apart has some very Lynch-esque visuals. Directed by Alex de Campi (check out some of her other music videos here), the video is a creepy love story done with stop motion puppets. She states: ”I wanted to refer tangentially to the book [Ed. note: Glen Duncan's The Last Werewolf], however, so I started off with the moon, and the idea of a love triangle — and of a wolf and a doe. Out of that, and out of what the noises in the song suggested to me, came the absurdist love story in the film.”

Singer/musician Stephen Coates: “I love working with filmmakers because they hear your music in a different way than you hear it, and their images are different images than you have. It brings something else to the music. It brings a whole different interpretation to the song.”

I can’t tell you how much I love The Real Tuesday Weld‘s The Last Werewolf: A Soundtrack. It’s one of those albums that I keep coming back to, putting on, and just leaving so it can play from beginning to end. Which is why I love that BD Music scored an exclusive three-part podcast conducted by Ben Eshmade of Fairy Tales & Monsters on Arctic Circle Radio with author Glen Duncan and Stephen Coates, frontman of The Real Tuesday Weld. I highly recommend checking out these podcasts as they are full of great horror talk and samples of many of the songs on the soundtrack.

Album Review: The Real Tuesday Weld ‘The Last Werewolf: A Soundtrack’

When I first heard that The Real Tuesday Weld’s album, The Last Werewolf: A Soundtrack was the soundtrack to a book, I was slightly taken aback. I’d never really heard of a book having a soundtrack before. A movie? Of course. A video game? Duh! But a book? That seemed somewhat far-fetched for me. Listening to the album, however, cleared everything up. The question is, did it clear it up and make me want to read the book or did it fail in drumming up any interest at all. Check out after the jump for all the details!
