[Interview] Eli Roth Talks RZA, Building The World Of ‘The Man With The Iron Fists’ And What To Expect From ‘The Green Inferno’!

Even though The Man With the Iron Fists is billed as a “Quentin Tarantino Presents” project, Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel, Hostel 2) and RZA are the clear creative forces behind the film. They wrote the project together (based on an original story by RZA), working for years to create the world and mythology of the film. As a producer, Roth was on the film’s set in China every day helping RZA through his directorial debut.

Bringing back the kung-fu grindhouse gore flicks that inspired produced Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino, yesterday RZA revealed the first eye-popping still from The Man With the Iron Fists. Now the trailer hits, and it certainly delivers on that eye-gouging gore. Since the trailer is pretty sprawling it’s hard to get a bead on the story, but I think this is a case where we’re comfortable with that taking second seat to spectacle. At least in the trailer.

[OMFG] Boy Fights Nightmare After Nightmare

Movies like The Goonies and Monster Squad will always have a special place in my heart. They show children rising up and facing their fears head on, determined to make it through their journey and emerge, grown and hardened, out the other side. That’s why I really resonated with the new music video, Boogie Man, from Grieves. It shows a boy arming himself with bubble wrap armor, a pot helmet, and a toy boy and arrow. He then proceeds to face some admittedly creepy nightmarish creatures. The music actually really works super well for this video and I’m not normally a guy who is into much hip hop.

All that being said, I highly recommend you check out the video after the jump and remember the days of your youth when you were ready to face anything.
