Players of the fantasy/horror PC game The Secret World now have a chance to get their music heard within the game. Per the press release, “There are several locations in The Secret World where modern music can be heard, such as shops, bars, diners and nightclubs etc. The music sent in by the winners will be implemented in such fitting locations in-game, where anyone can hear them.”
Audio Director Simon Poole comments, “There are a lot of talented and dedicated people in the community, and we are lucky to have a game like The Secret World where their music can fit in perfectly. We already have many artists contributing with their music to the game, and to now give players the opportunity to let their music sound across the radios of The Secret World is even more exciting.”
I did some serious slacking the past 2 years and didn’t post my Best Horror Game articles like I did from 2007-2009. But I’m going to make it all up to you guys now. It’s easy for me to post my favorite horror games of the year, but I’m more curious about what games YOU guys liked the best. So if you head past the break you can look at my hand clicked selections from last year. Choose your favorite from the list, and then we can crown the winner! The poll will go for a couple weeks, or until I decide it has fizzled out! Head past the break to see your choices and to vote!
The Secret World kicked quite a heavy load of baggage off of its subscribers shoulders. That baggage is the paid subscription. I must admit I was friggen pumped for The Secret World. But once that one month free trial ended, the honeymoon was over. It wasn’t cheap to keep the fun going, so I put the game on hold until I could set aside some time to make paying for the subscription worth while. Well, now I don’t have to worry about it! And neither do you. Buy the game, play FREE FOREVER. They do have a monthly subscription you can still get. With it you get: “10 USD/EUR per month which can be spent in the in-game store, the ‘Time Accelerator’ item that grants double experience gain for one hour each day, a fixed 10% discount to everything in the in-game store, and more.” Check out a video past the break!
Fucking Cthulhu is in this game? Why didn’t anyone tell me this? Look, if you weren’t interested in this game already, Cthulhu should immediately make this worth your time. I mean, come on, it’s Cthulhu. So The Secret World is out today and it looks pretty great. I spent about an hour with it last night and it’s unlike any other game I’ve ever played, and I mean that in a very good way. The unique blend of sci-fi, fantasy and horror helps it stand out from the myriad other MMOs out there. Head past the break for the launch trailer! READ MORE
It’s true. I’ve been waiting so very patiently for The Secret World. The time to pre-order is upon us. Pre-ordering The Secret World will get you a pretty sweet amount of bonuses at no extra cost. If you head past the break you can check out that list and a video that explains it all as well. The Secret World will be released exclusively on the PC June 19th. READ MORE
Imagine having a girlfriend/boyfriend who didn’t care what you did. You could go about your day without being hounded. You could sit around all day eating pizza and playing video games, without fear of ever having to stop. Well in The Secret World you can build your character however you please. Just because you have great defense doesn’t mean you have to have massive bulky armor on. I can still rock a hoodie while fighting off a fucking dragon?! Fuck yeah you can.
The Secret World is coming out June 19th on the PC. READ MORE
The Secret World is a game I’ve been way too excited about for way too long. If you hang around here at all you probably already know that. Well, in the lull that is usually summer video game releases The Secret World will be making an appearance at the perfect time. June 19th of this year TSW will be releasing on the PC, and I will say goodbye to the sun until September. Originally slated (I hate that word so I’ll use projected) for April, upon the massive beta testing they decided to push it back to invest more time in development and making everything great.
Make sure if you haven’t that you sign up for the beta because in the coming months they’ll be opening it up a lot more than before. No more closed beta, a lot more open beta events. Try before you buy! I tried it, and just as I thought I love it. Can’t wait. READ MORE
It’s no secret the world is ending this year. There are just too many ways for it all to come to a crashing halt, whether it’s by alien invasion, zombie infection, nuclear fallout, or any number of other possibilities — the point is, tell your loved ones how you feel because we’re all going to die. While I’m spreading some truth sauce on you, you should know there’s a pretty good chance a majority of us will die slowly and very painfully. You could be eaten alive by the hungry undead, die of radiation sickness, or you could find yourself in an alien’s sex dungeon where it probes you daily until it grows tired of you and blasts you with its Raygun.
Once January 2013 rolls around there probably won’t be many of us left. Our once glorious civilization, founded on the idea that you can call someone a douchenozzle and not get reprimanded because everything you say online is anonymous. However, there is still some hope. Sure, most of us will meet with gruesome deaths, but there are some here that will survive. How long you survive is entirely up to how intelligent, physically fit, and resourceful you are. If you’d like to increase your chances of making it in the inevitable apocalypse, here are ten games coming out this year that can help you out. READ MORE
I want to play The Secret World. I want to play it RIGHT NOW. I’m patiently waiting and hoping I’ll be accepted into the games beta. But until then all I can do is feed my addiction with videos. Below you can take a look into the Illuminati, 1 of 3 of the secret societies you’ll find in The Secret World. April, April, APRIL!!!
I could not be more giddy about the fact that The Secret World has a release date. However, it’s April of 2012, and the game (as of right now) is only coming out for the PC. I just lost my boner. But I still have a half chub anyhow because I’m going to get the game anyways. Moving on to the beta…
If there is one thing I could take away from every bit of video and screens I’ve seen from The Secret World, it would be that they are going to have some big fucking scary monsters. They aren’t holding back here on the size of your enemies. Massive, scary, blind, bloody, bleeding, skulls, things growing from eyes. Pulled straight from your nightmares if you ask me.
Head past the break to see what I’m talking about. They also have some kick ass locales. Which most of you who have seen the other screens and videos should have noticed. This game can’t come out soon enough. READ MORE
Have you been reading my words aloud, trying to match a voice to them so you could more easily pretend what it would be like if I was sitting next to you, late at night, with my hand on your upper thigh? Maybe you picture me uttering Shakespearean dialogue in the velvety tones of James Earl Jones, or with the disarming charm of Nolan North? If you answered yes then look no further, because the Dead Pixels Podcast is back and this time it’s brought with it an added dose of yours truly.
From now on you can expect new episodes of the podcast to go up every second sunday of the month. I suppose those of you who enjoy surprises might not be too fond of the lack of unexpected episodes, but as my grandpa always says, tough shit, (don’t listen to him, he’s a mean dude.) So if you want to hear TJ and I attempt a discussion on video game news like the so-so E3, The Secret World, and Duke Nukem Forever, this might be for you. Sadly, neither of us have great attention spans so we also found ourselves in tangents on Transformers 3, The Human Centipede, and the really fucking tasty Mountain Dew: Pitch Black. More from TJ past the break. READ MORE
I don’t really need to tell you all how excited I am about The Secret World. I express my undying love during every post. You should all know that Adam is a whore for it as well. Check out this bad ass video below.
The Secret World keeps getting cooler and cooler. And even better, it gets dark, horror dark. Take the video below. It shows Solomon Island/The Savage Coast which is basically a huge empty town, which was most likely taken over by monsters, demons, zombies and the like. I absolutely cannot wait to get this game.
Originally said to be releasing on the PC and Xbox 360, it looks like for now they might be snubbing the 360 version. HORSE SHIT! READ MORE
I don’t play MMOs. I tried Final Fantasy XI a couple times, but I just couldn’t deal with it. Maybe it was because it was on PC, or maybe because I didn’t have any friends to play it with. I am however 100 percent ready to devote my life to The Secret World. If I can get a couple of friends by my side then I would be totally set. The dev diary below goes in depth on the story and missions of the game.
The really great thing is the amount of voiced characters. It really brings a game to life having the emotions of all the many characters being voiced and acted out. The game was said the be released for the PC and Xbox 360 (release dates unknown), but I’m still holding my breath on a 360 verison. READ MORE
The Secret World is an MMO. Let’s not beat around the bush about it. I’m excited for it. I would never play WOW, but I can get into The Secret World. It basically takes place modern day, except the world is a much different place. Think monsters, zombies, vampires, if you watch the video below, every rumor you’ve ever hear isn’t a rumor. The fountain of youth is poisoned, there is a city on the moon, the earth is hollow, the Tower of Babel never fell. That’s just a few of the things this game will be showing us. Watch.
I’ve never been an MMO person but this game has my attention and has had it since the first zombie filled trailer. Modern day me, can have magical powers, swords, guns, whatever I want to save the world from all of these unleashed horrors. I have even more faith in the game since E.A. plans to publish the game alongside developers Funcom. And as of right now it is still being released on the Xbox 360 as well as the PC. This is exactly the kind of game I’m looking forward to playing with a bunch of my friends. READ MORE
The Secret World has been on my radar for a while now, but it has been in development for many many years. I haven’t yet gotten into any online MMOs, but this one is looking like it is going to be my 1st. The thing that sets The Secret World apart from just about all other MMOs, is that there is no linear path for your character. Watch the video below to find out exactly what I mean.
As you can see you have limitless possibilities. And from the variety of characters you can see throughout the video, I’m assuming there will be some sort of massive character creation. Screens and more past the break. READ MORE
I’ve been pretty excited about The Secret World for quite a bit now. The thing that really hooked me was the trailer below. But that isn’t all the game is going to be about. That’s just one town in the game. Not only are you going to up against zombies, but vampires, werewolves, monsters, EVERYTHING.
The Secret World will be an online MMO. Yes that doesn’t really fit into a lot of peoples gaming, but if they keep on with the path they are going, this could be just the type of game a lot of us are looking for. I would love to be up against the world with my friends at my back, magic powers along with many weapon choices to fight. The real news here though, is past the break. READ MORE
One of my most anticipated upcoming games is The Secret World. The Secret World is an MMO that will be available for the PC and Xbox 360, no release date is set. In the game you choose a secret society you would like to join, and this will change your starting location between New York, Seoul or London. The video below focuses on London and the Templars.
This game will cover everything, from magic, to weapons, while fighting monsters, zombies, vampires, you name it. Head past the break for screens. READ MORE
The Secret World went into pre-production in 2002. 8 years later here we are finally getting just a little taste of what’s to come. In the middle of 2003 most of the people working on the game were transferred over to the development of the game “Dreamfall”.
You can check out one more screen beyond the break. Hopefully we can look forward to a lot more in game screens and trailers to come. READ MORE
Here are 2 more trailers for The Secret World, these a bit more pretty than the one I posted a couple days ago. Check out the 2nd beyond the break, and all game info etc from the post a couple days ago.
I want to give much thanks to AfterTheAsylum for the heads up on this. The Secret World. What exactly is The Secret World? Well why don’t you watch the trailer HERE, then we’ll talk about it.
Awesomely creepy right? Let me explain the game the best I know. Don’t right off the bat think it’s a zombie game. That’s what I thought. But that’s not all. This game is going to be epic. Huge. Not only do you have to worry about the undead, but other legends of horror, from vampires to werewolves and more horribly deformed monsters and creatures haunt the everyday world. Read on if you’re still interested.. READ MORE
