Twisted Music Video Of The Week Vol. 85: Huntress “Eight Of Swords”

It’s friday and I’m feeling a bit witchy! That’s why I’m feeling like giving you all some Huntress and their video for “Eight Of Swords”. Directed by Simon Chan (The Swords, Spindrift, The Mars Volta), the video is full of occult imagery and classic thrash metal, which makes it the perfect way to kick off a weekend that will surely be devoted to sin and debauchery! The song comes from the band’s debut album Spell Eaters, which was released May 8th, 2012 via Napalm Records. Make sure to pick it up on iTunes. READ MORE

2012 BLACK FRIDAY CHOPPING LIST: MUSIC

Yep! It’s that time of year again. Thanksgiving is on Thursday, which means dutiful consumers are already preparing for the Holiday Shopping Season. If you think you’re exempt from that, think again. Either you know a fellow horror fan (or family member) in need, or you want something for yourself! You can take this as advice for what to buy, or what to ask for.

So we’re kicking things off this year with our music list! I know a lot of you folks are into metal, and we’ve got plenty of that. But we’ve also got a few surprises tucked in there as well! Extra thanks to Jonathan Barkan for his suggestions, they’re designated as “JB”.

Btw, I’ve mainly included iTunes links – they have a “gift” option – to these releases. Even though I prefer discs, I realize I’m a relic so I’m saving links to physical products for the special Box Sets where it’s really worth it to go whole-hog and impress someone special. Head inside to check it out! READ MORE

The Sword To Release New Album ‘Apocryphon’ On Limited-Edition Cassette Tape

I’m going to have to label this as awesome. When fans purchase a copy of Texas metal band The Sword‘s new album Apocryphon, they will also get a free, limited-edition, hand-numbered version of the new album on cassette tape (while supplies last). This promotion is only being offered through independent record stores and is part of Record Store Day. You can see if your local record shop is participating by checking here.

This is just such a cool little thing to do, in my opinion. Cassettes are basically never used these days, so the novelty of this is pretty much sky high. You can see a picture of the cassette below. You can also pre-order the album in multiple bundles here.

The Sword will be hitting the road for a 37-date US tour with support coming from Gypsyhawk. Check out the tour dates below. READ MORE
