Attack Attack Enter Studio To Record New Album: Post Video Update

Metalcore band Attack Attack has entered the studio to record their fourth studio album, the followup to 2012′s This Means War (review), which was the last album to feature bassist John Holgado and vocalist Caleb Shomo.

New Videos From Meshuggah And Nickelback

Alright, I know this is a weird news post. Putting a Meshuggah and Nickelback video side by side? Insanity! But hear me out. The Nickelback song, This Means War, is one of their hard rock/near metal songs that is the rare good track on one of their albums (there’s always one or two) and that ISN’T about drinking or acting like a jackass. Meanwhile, the Meshuggah video for Breaking Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion is super simple and super badass.

 [Review] Attack Attack! This Means War

Although Ohio-based metalcore troupe Attack Attack!‘s intention of making This Means War a seamless, fluent record is obvious even before the first listen (a quick scan of the album’s track listing reveals the repeated use of the word “the” in every song title), I was expecting a smooth record – not a repetitive one. But alas, I was once again confronted with a rather disappointing release from the four piece. After their bland rerelease of their self-titled album in summer 2011 (review), I was hoping Attack Attack! would redeem themselves with their third studio effort, and although this record is definitely worthy of a few kudos, it was not on par with what I would typically expect from the creative, genre-blending band I love.  READ MORE
