In Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, a young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences.

While it won’t open in theaters until October 5, 2012 from Walt Disney Pictures, Bloody Disgusting already has amassed a pretty large hi-res image gallery added after the break, along with the previously released poster and trailer.

The voice cast includes four actors who worked with Burton on previous films: Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands), Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas), Martin Short (Mars Attacks!) and Martin Landau (Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow), while Charlie Tahan and Atticus Shaffer were later added. Over 200 puppets and sets were created for the film, and that several of the character names—Victor, Elsa Van Helsing, Edgar “E” Gore and Mr. Burgermeister— were inspired by classic horror films.

“A heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

A stop-motion animated film, ‘Frankenweenie’ will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience.” READ MORE

Twentieth Century Fox has just now released a new Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter 3D featurette that features interviews with producer Tim Burton, director Timur Bekmambetov and writer Seth Grahame-Smith for the forthcoming historical retelling in theaters June 22.

“Seth Grahame-Smith’s revision of a Jane Austen classic explores the secret life of our greatest president, and the untold history that shaped our nation. As a young boy, Abraham Lincoln witnesses the shocking death of his mother, leading him on a path to an ongoing war – and ultimately to the presidency – he chronicles in a hidden diary. The journal reveals the incredible story of a clandestine warrior who never stopped fighting for the country he led and the people he loved.”

Tim Burton’s take on the classic supernatural soap Dark Shadows looks like it’s more jokey than we expected given the source material, but, if anything, it’s decidedly Burton. If you’ve been dying to see if the guy has any steam left in him (Sweeney Todd was great, but Charlie and Alice in Wonderland? BLAH.) and happen to live in Orlando, Bloody Disgusting has got what you need! Warner Bros. has provided us with fifty passes – good for two people each – to an advance screening at Regal Winter Park on Monday, May 7th at 7:30pm. To win, all you have to do is show up! We’ll be on waiting in front of the theater starting at 6pm, and will give out the passes on a first come, first served basis. Remember to get in line early, as our last two screenings were packed!

Wow. At first it was “the movie without a trailer.” Now, it’s the movie with so many trailers and clips I seriously don’t know how much is left undiscovered. Now Warner Bros. has released nine new clips from Dark Shadows. I kind of like what I see. At least it seems to have more drive than something like Alice In Wonderland.

Johnny Depp, Jackie Earle Haley, Bella Heathcote, Cloe Moretz, Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Thomas McDonell, Gulliver McGrath and Jonny Lee Miller all star. The film is of course directed by Tim Burton.

Warner Bros. has released their full 28 hi-res images from Dark Shadows, many which features the cast – Johnny Depp, Jackie Earle Haley, Bella Heathcote, Cloe Moretz, Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Thomas McDonell, Gulliver McGrath and Jonny Lee Miller – working with director Tim Burton.

In theaters May 11, the MPAA has officially rated Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows PG-13 for “comic horror violence, sexual content, some drug use, language and smoking.”

In addition, Entertainment Weekly writer Anthony Breznican caught the finished version of the film and shared the following mini-review: “I’ve seen final cut of Dark Shadows. Tone similar to Burton and Depp’s Sleepy Hollow – lots of humor, but with menacing, atmospheric edge. In Dark Shadows, there’s an absurdist bent to the monster element. The creatures of the night are adrift in the self-obsessed world of 1970s. In typical Burton fashion, humans are scarier than the fiends. If u want Interview w the Vampire, that movie exists. This is a more wry take.”

BeetleJuice40912 Seth Grahame Smith Offers Updates On Beetlejuice 2, Unholy Night, And Night Of The Living

Seth Grahame-Smith is, to say the least, a busy guy. His revision of the birth of Jesus and the three wise men, “Unholy Night”, is published tomorrow. He also wrote Dark Shadows for Tim Burton and adapted his book Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter for Timur Bekmambetov. But that doesn’t mean we won’t write the screenplays for Unholy Night, Beetlejuice 2 and a new project called Night Of The Living in quick succession.

He told the Hollywood Reporter, “‘Night of the Living’ is an idea I have had around for years that I’m doing with Tim Burton. When we were shooting ‘Dark Shadows’ last year I worked up the nerve to tell Tim about it because I always thought it would make a good movie. When I saw what he had done with ‘Frankweenie and Corpse Bride’, it always struck me as a great idea for that form. I’m writing it at Warner’s Bros. for him (as a stop-motion monster movie). As soon I’m done with that draft, I’ll move into ‘Unholy Night’, probably in a matter of weeks. Once we have a script and we’ll get together with David Heyman and the studio, we’ll go looking for a director. The ‘Beetlejuice’ sequel will come after ‘Unholy Night’ in my schedule. The first opportunity to tackle that will probably be later this year.”

Smith is actually down the road a bit with Beetlejuice 2, he’s been discussing the project with both Tim Burton and Michael Keaton for a while now so it’s not necessarily a pipe dream. It could happen. While I’m not necessarily fond of the mashups he’s done with “Lincoln” or “Pride, Prejudice And Zombies”, he’s still an unknown quantity as a screenwriter to me. People seem to like working with him, maybe he’s better suited to the screenwriting trade than he is to gimmicky novels.

Okay, Dark Shadows we know you exist! I’m actually not down on the movie – aside from he lame Alice Cooper joke – I have no real beef with any of the bus ads, character posters, standees, teasers, teasers for trailers, trailer, or TV spots. I’m actually kind of looking forward to this even though I’ve hated the last few Tim Burton films. But I’d say there’s a lot of awareness, wouldn’t you? Give those trailer cutters a break WB!

It’s incredibly rare when I have a different reaction to a TV spot than I did with the original trailer. Frankly, I don’t recall it ever happening.

Warner Brothers used the NCAA tournament to unload their first Dark Shadows commercial, one that carries quite a bit of different footage than the film’s recently released trailer. In fact, it made me excited to see Tim Burton’s latest, which arrives in theaters May 11.

The trailer for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows hit late last week and today we have a look at the international version. It’s pretty much identical, but if you’re an Alice Cooper fan you’ll be pleased to find that it introduces him near the end and shows a bit of his performance of “No More Mr. Nice Guy”.

I actually didn’t mind the trailer last week, it looks like the film will at least be better than Alice In Wonderland. But the Alice Cooper joke here falls super flat.

The original Gothic soap opera was a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies.

With the HD version of the trailer arriving this afternoon being uploaded as we speak (still), right now international press has landed 30 hi-res images from Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows, which can all be enjoyed by clicking any pictorial on display.

We’ve also just added the official one-sheet and proper version of the trailer, both of which are a bit hokey. I’m nervous that the film is trickling into “pop culture” territory with their (near) modern-day comedy. This could go very badly…

The women who watch “Ellen.” Originally a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies, Tim Burton has put his spin on the tale featuring his typical cast of misfits including Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. With a release set for May 11, I’m starting to think we’re going to be highly disappointed with this film.

We’re all patiently waiting for the trailer for Dark Shadows, the Tim Burton-directed adaptation of the highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies.

Or maybe not so patiently. After all, the film is less than 2 months away and we have yet to see any footage. That changes on Thursday, when the full trailer premieres on “The Ellen Show”. Of course, it could change today if you choose to watch the on-air teaser for the trailer.

Even more images from Dark Shadows have emerged, and I have to say these are some of my favorites. It’s nice getting a better look at Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green and Chloe Grace Moretz. What we still don’t have? A trailer that indicates if this film has the campy lilt in its step that’s been missing from Burton’s recent work.

Off the Singapore Facebook page comes a first look at Helena Bonham Carter (aka Tim Burton’s favorite gal) as “Dr. Julia Hoffman” in Tim Burton’s forthcoming Dark Shadows, the Burton-directed adaptation of the highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies. Check out the three other new images released yesterday.

“The story focuses on Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp), who was transformed into a vampire by a jilted lover (Eva Green’s witch Angelique) way back in the 1700s and buried. He’s just been dug up, and attempts to reintegrate with his descendants, led by Michelle Pfeiffer’s Elizabeth and Jonny Lee Miller’s Roger – despite the fact that Angelique is still around and still not in a forgiving mood.”

Jackie Earle Haley, Bella Heathcote, Cloe Moretz, Helena Bonham Carter, Thomas McDonell, Gulliver McGrath and Alice Cooper also star in the gothic horror in theaters May 11. READ MORE

New Dark Shadows Imagery Tours Collinwood Manor

While we patiently await Warner Bros. to premiere both the trailer and poster, a trio of new images have been discovered from Dark Shadows, the Tim Burton-directed adaptation of the highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies.

More images from the set of Dark Shadows have emerged, and this time we get a look at Alice Cooper with some of the film’s cast. I kind of expected Tim Burton to do something new with his look, which this photo certainly does not reflect. Then again, these look more like snapshots of the cast hanging out, so perhaps he’s not in character at all. These snapshots also include original cast members from the old TV show, David Selby, Lara Parker, Jonathan Frid, and Kathryn Leigh Scott.

Directed by Tim Burton, the adaptation of the TV soap hits theaters May 11, 2012. That makes for the odd situation of being a major release that’s only two months away and doesn’t have a trailer yet.

On page 156 and 157 of Vanity Fair‘s current issue portrait photos of the Dark Shadows cast — Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter — appear. Warner Bros. will open Tim Burton ‘s vampire film on May 11 of this year.

The First Frankenweenie Trailer Is Electric!

As promised you can now watch the first official trailer from Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, a film in which a young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences. The trailer gives a handful of nods to the classic Universal Frankenstein films, while also sort of remaking it in the world of Burton. In short, it looks pretty fantastic. In theaters October 5, 2012 from Walt Disney Pictures, the voice cast includes four actors who worked with Burton on previous films: Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands), Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas), Martin Short (Mars Attacks!) and Martin Landau (Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow), while Charlie Tahan and Atticus Shaffer later added.
