The clip below (via Machinima) is from the Gareth Evans and Timo Tjahjanto segment – “Safe Haven” – and I can’t help but grin with delight whenever I see it. What follows these events is “off the hook” as the kids might say.

My mind is still spinning is disbelief that we already have V/H/S/2 for you guys. This is 2013, so Magnet Releasing decided to get you this insane sequel as quickly as inhumanly possible. While it’ll also be in theaters on July 12 (please check it out if it’s near you), the found-footage anthology is now available on various VOD platforms including iTunes (link here), Amazon, AT&T UVerse, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Google Play, Playstation 3, Sudden Link, Time Warner Cable, Verizon Fios, VUDU and Xbox Zune.

We’re extremely proud of the first V/H/S, but we definitely took this in a new direction. ‘The Raid’ and ‘V/H/S/2′ Filmmakers Reunite For ‘The Night Comes For Us’

Fans of Macabre, The Raid and the forthcoming V/H/S/2, pictured, get ready for more from the Indonesian-based filmmakers.

Screen Daily reports that XYZ Films has launched worldwide sales here on The Night Comes For Us, its latest collaboration with The Raid creator Gareth Evans.

The Welshman is on board the Indonesian-set action thriller in the role of action director and his PT Merantau Films produces with LA-based XYZ Films.

Timo Tjahjanto, whose credits include XYZ’s upcoming Killers, will direct the bilingual Indonesian and English-language tale “about a Triad enforcer who embarks on a bloody journey of atonement after he unwittingly orchestrates a massacre.”

Joe Taslim from The Raid and Fast & Furious 6 stars alongside Yayan Ruhian.

Maya Barack Evans of PT Merantau Films and Nate Bolotin, Aram Tertzakian, Nick Spicer and Todd Brown of XYZ Films serve as producers.

We finally get a full length trailer for V/H/S/2 and it’s worth the wait! As someone who really liked most of the original film, I’ve got no problem telling you that V/H/S/2 is much, much better. It’s tighter, shorter, leaner and a rock solid viewing experience. It’s also gory, chaotic and fun as hell – which this trailer certainly represents!

The poster for V/H/S/2 has emerged and it’s a nice, solid classy look for the film! It keeps the skull theme from the original but adds an air of old-school menace. By the way, as someone who really liked most of the original film, I’ve got no problem telling you that V/H/S/2 is much, much better. [SXSW '13] Magnet Gives Birth To ‘V/H/S/2′ Release Dates!

Hopefully you guys enjoyed our V/H/S anthology enough that you’ll insert our next collection of tapes when V/H/S/2 tracks you later this year.

Acquired by Magnet Releasing out of Sundance as S-VHS, V/H/S/2 will be arriving on VOD platforms June 6 with a theatrical rollout set for July 12. Horror in the summer? Sure, why not? Magnolia says they’re opening in more theaters than last year, so keep a look out for updates this summer. Until then, check out this hideous still from Gareth Evans and Timo Tjahjanto’s segment, which is literally going to blow people’s ind this weekend at the SXSW film Festival.

Inspired by children’s educational books, the motion picture is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. [Random Cool] Man With Camera Eye Probably Hasn’t Seen ‘V/H/S/2′ Yet!

While you guys haven’t seen V/H/S/2 yet, I’m wondering if a screening of Adam Wingard’s segment might give Canadian Filmmaker Rob Spence pause before going ahead with his plan to have a working camera for an eye, though I suppose odds are slim it will actually lead to a supernatural encounter.

Per Unbelievable Facts, “[Spence] damaged his right eye in a childhood accident and is determined to replace it with a digital camera. “Team Eyeborg” has just succeeded in fitting Spence with an artificial eye containing a working LED – a step towards a camera-containing synthetic eye.”

Right now, the LED records visual information and sends it to a computer. But it sounds like the ultimate goal is to set up a configuration that not only records information, but allows Spence to see stereoscopically again. Obviously I think this is a super cool endeavor and I wish Spence and his team all the luck in the world. I also hope this new eye doesn’t cause him to see too much.

From The Makers Of ‘The Raid,’ ‘Macabre’ and ‘V/H/S/2′ Is ‘Killers!!

It’s driving me crazy that we havent released Macabre (pictured above) yet, the insanely gory Indonesian flick from The Mo Brothers. While we figure that out, we worked with Timo Tjahjanto on one of the five V/H/S/2 segments. With that in the can, Timo has reteamed with Kimo Stamboel for Killers, which is being produced, in part, by the team behind The Raid, reports Twitch.

The film stars Ray Sahetapy, the veteran Indonesian actor who played the crime boss Tama in The Raid.

Developed by The Mo Brothers from a story by Nightmare Detective producer Ushiyama Takuji, “Killers is an international horror-thriller revolving around a pair of serial killers who discover one another on the internet.”
