Meet ‘The Lords of Salem’s’ Frankenstein Monster

A little update on Rob Zombie’s Facebook revealed who will playing who in his movie within a movie Frankenstein vs The Witchfinder. Playing at the Salem theater in The Lords of Salem, Suspiria‘s Udo Kier plays the hero “Matthew Hopkins” aka “Klaus the Reap”, Clint Howard (Ice Scream Man) is the dwarf “Carlo Caravaggio”, Dan Roebuck (Final Destination, Halloween 2, John Dies at the End) is revived as “The Frankenstein Monster”, and Camille Keaton (I Spit on Your Grave) was cast as the wench “Doris Von Fux”. Rob Zombie’s ‘Lords of Salem’ STILL Casting

With shooting already wrapped in Salem, Massachusetts, you’d think writer-director Rob Zombie would have his full cast locked in for The Lords of Salem. Nope. The shock rocker-turned-filmmaker reveals that child star Brandon Cruz has joined the massive cast as “Ted Delta”, a local Salem drug counselor. Shooting continues in Los Angeles.

Brandon was a staple of 70′s TV appearing in such shows as “The Incredible Hulk”, “Police Story”, “Kung Fu”, “Gunsmoke” and of course as Eddie alongside Bill Bixby on the hit show “The Courtship of Eddie’s Father”. Add to that a starring turn in the 1976 smash film The Bad News Bears. During is absence from acting Brandon has focused on music, heading the punk band Dr. Know during the 80′s and more recently replacing Jello Biafra in the legendary band The Dead Kennedys.

Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem shoot is winding down as they’ve just wrapped production in Salem Massachusetts and are picking up tomorrow in Los Angeles.

Whenever I see the cast of a Rob Zombie movie I think of the scene in BASEketball where the team’s owner has a collection of real-life stars, such as Kareem Abdul-Jabber, who sit in glass cases during business hours…

With day 17 underway, Rob Zombie continues to jam his The Lords of Salem cast with collectible names that you’d see at a local horror convention. This morning he revealed that he will once again be working with genre fav Sid Haig (House of 1,000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, Halloween) who will play “Dean Magnus”, the other half of the witch finding duo known as “The Brothers.”

Sid is best known for cult classics like Spiderbaby, Coffy, Black Mama, White Mama, CC and Company and The Big Dollhouse.

And so it continues. The Hills Have Eyes star Michael Berryman is joining The Lords of Salem, which reteams him with The Devil’s Rejects director Rob Zombie.

Michael Berryman is the latest name to join the crew down in merry old Salem as Virgil Magnus, 50% of a well-known witch hunting duo called The Brothers,” says Zombie, who is now on his second week of filming here in Los Angeles.

Berryman has been shocking audiences for over 35 years in films like One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Deadly Blessing and even Weird Science.

Ken has been in many films horror fans love including Dawn Of The Dead, From Beyond, Knightriders, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3, The Devil’s Rejects, Halloween and even Zombie’s The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto.

Rob Zombie ends the weekend announcing that guitarist John 5 will be composing The Lords of Salem, which begins lensing in just two weeks.

Richard Lynch, Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Dern, Sheri Moon Zombie, Dee Wallace and Billy Drago have so far been cast in the film from the producing team behind Insidious and Paranormal Activity.

John 5 (John William Lowery) is best known as the former guitarist of Marilyn Manson, and is currently with Zombie. He is also a solo artist having recorded six guitar albums. He also works as a staff writer for Chrysalis Records, working with artists such as Avril Lavigne, Rob Halford, Garbage, Meat Loaf, Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, FeFe Dobson and has written and recorded with southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. – Wiki.

Rob Zombie announced today via his official Facebook that Torsten Voges – best known for his turns in Joel Schumacher’s 8MM and the cult classic Coen Brother’s film The Big Lebowski – has joined the cast of The Lords of Salem, which begins lensing this fall from the producing team behind Insidious and Paranormal Activity.

Voges will play “Count Gorgann”, the lead singer of the Norwegian death metal band Leviathan the Fleeing Serpent.

Jeff Phillips was recently cast as Herman “Whitey” Salvador, one third of “The Big H Team” at WIQZ – Salem’s Rock Radio. Meg Foster was also cast as “Margaret Morgan”, the leader of a secret coven of witches in Salem. Ernest Thomas will play Chip “Freakshow” McDonald, the station manager at Salem’s #1 rock station.
