Chad of the power violence/hardcore band DNF was kind enough to talk about the band’s newly released 7″ “Hurt” as well as what they have coming up for the rest of the year. Read past the break for the interview, enjoy!
A few weeks ago I got awesome chance to see Former Thieves, Defeater and La Dispute play together. It was honestly one of the best shows I have ever been too and even though I had an awful flu the show made it well worth it. In addition to the show I was able to interview members from each band, the first one I’m posting was with Adam Vass who is the bassist for La Dispute. He was quite the gentleman cat, enjoy!
Touché Amoré have released their first video ever for the song “Home Away From Here” off their upcoming full length/Deathwish Inc. debut “Parting The Sea Between Brightness And Me”. Lead singer Jeremy Bolm had this to say about the video:
“The thought of doing a music video in this day & age along with this world we’re involved in has always felt a bit odd. But after seeing some of Derek’s videos online, we got inspired. Whether anyone saw it or not, we knew it would be a good time. Derek puts together stop motion videos using still photographs and has quite the talent for piecing it all together. We brought him along for a short run of West Coast shows in April of 2011. He shot 65,000 photos for this project. The song is called “Home Away From Here” and it’s about traveling and finding comfort in the struggle of trying to survive. We wanted him to capture everything candid of what its like to tour. Driving, unloading, hanging out, playing, sleeping on floors, etc. Derek did a fantastic job!!!”
A couple weeks ago I got to interview Japanese post-hardcore band Envy. Words can’t describe how humbling the experience was but it was definitely a special moment for me. Envy for me has been a very influential band for me and for many bands they would have to have to agree as well. This marked Envy’s third time coming to the U.S. in twenty years in support of their new album “Recitation”, and with the opening bands on this tour it should definitely be their most memorable. In my interview I found out Envy doesn’t do interviews often which made the experience even more humbling.
