Grunge rock pioneers Alice In Chains have announced that they will be embarking on a U.S. headlining tour this Spring, which will kick off in late April in Oklahoma and finish just under a month later in Iowa. The tour will be in support of the band’s latest album The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here (review). No support act has been announced but we’ll keep a close eye on things and update you!
I saw AIC during the small venue tour supporting Black Gives Way To Blue and had a blast. They definitely know how to work a crowd and I’m eager to get a chance to check them out again. READ MORE
Progressive metal band Tool has announced a short string of N. American tour dates in early March. The dates are mainly on the West Coast, so don’t get your hopes up if you’re East of the Rockies. Masked alt-metal band Mushroomhead will be kicking off their US 20th anniversary tour tomorrow in Lynchburg, VA and will be on the road for 5 and a half weeks, culminating their journey in Detroit, MI. The band will see direct support from One-Eyed Doll, who are currently working on their debut album Committed.
One-Eyed Doll front-woman/guitarist Kimberly Freeman comments, “We’re looking forward to seeing our friends Mushroomhead again, and of course all of our wonderful fans in these cities! We’ve got a great crew and tons of new merch. It’s going to be a blast.”

Thrash metal titans Slayer have added more dates to their upcoming N. American headline tour, which sees support coming from Gojira and 4ARM. Thrash metal legends Slayer have announced that they will embarking on a 5-week N. American tour that will begin in latish October and wrap up at the end of November. The confirmed opening acts are Gojira (HELL YES!) and 4ARM. The line up will be Tom Araya on bass and vocals, guitarist Kerry King, drummer Paul Bostaph, and guitarist Gary Holt (who continues to fill in for late guitarist Jeff Hanneman). Fresh off the release of their new single “Came Back Haunted”, Nine Inch Nails have announced a full N. American tour that will take place this fall. Titled the “Tension Tour 2013″, the official NIN website states that it picks “…up where ‘Lights in the Sky’ left off, this is the full-on NIN live experience realized as we never could before.” Presale dates can be found here while actual presale information can be found here.

Alright, so there is pretty much no way that I can relate this to horror off the top of my head. However, this tour is just way too awesome to not let you all know about. Counting Crows and The Wallflowers, both huge 90′s bands, have announced that they will be embarking on a 21-date N. American tour this summer. All tour dates can be seen below (I’ll be at the Rochester Hills show on July 4th, no doubt about it).
I’ve always loved listening to these two bands. The Wallflowers’ “One Headlight” is one of my favorite 90′s songs while Counting Crows’ “Colorblind” will always be one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard. READ MORE
Metalcore band Killswitch Engage has announced a full string of US headlining tour dates. Support will come from As I Lay Dying, Miss May I, and Affiance. The tour kicks off in Oklahoma City and wraps up just over a month later in Joliet.
Vocalist Jesse Leach comments, “We look forward to sharing this tour with our old friends and brothers in metal As I Lay Dying. I personally have never had the chance to tour with them and I am looking forward to having such a quality band out with us to give this tour even more fire! We will also be joined by a talented and up-and-coming band Miss May I and a new band we’re all excited to see live called Affiance. Thanks to all the U.S. fans for your support! Grunge rockers Alice In Chains have announced a string of US tour dates this Spring that begins on April 25th in Miami Beach, FL and ends on May 25th in Pryor, OK at the Rocklahoma Festival. The band will be touring to promote the release of their new album, which is as-of-yet-untitled and has an undetermined Spring 2013 release date. Fan pre-sale tickets for most dates will go on sale tomorrow while general purchase begins on Friday.

Two of Sweden’s greatest musical exports, Opeth and Katatonia, will be touring N. America this spring. So far only one release date has been released: May 10th at the Machine Shop in Flint, MI (check out the flyer below). Tickets will be made available this Friday, Jan. 11th at 10am.
Opeth will still be touring in support of their album Heritage (review) while Katatonia will be touring for Dead End Kings (review).

Green Day had a bit of an up-and-down year in 2012. They released three albums and did some touring. But then, in September, singer/guitarist Billie Joe had a breakdown on stage and ended up going to rehab. As a result, several tour dates had to be cancelled. But now the band is catching up and rescheduling tour dates for a tour in March and April of 2013. You can check out all the dates below (more will be added in early 2013).

Heavy rock bands Flyleaf and Drowning Pool will be co-headlining a US tour that begins Feb. 21st in Philadelphia and ends Mar. 24th in Tucson. Support will come from Los Angeles rock band Stars In Stereo. This will be Flyleaf’s first full tour with new singer Kristen May as the support their latest album New Horizons (review).
