Raze

Stuntwoman Zoe Bell headlines this sly subversion of the women-in-prison genre. After Sabrina (Bell) is abducted, she finds herself in an underground lair, forced to do battle with other innocent women for the amusement of unseen spectators. Each of these reluctant warriors has something to lose, but only one will remain when the game is done. Violent and relentless, Raze takes its video game aesthetic to the deepest and darkest places, rarely surfacing for air.

IFC Battles For Vicious Fight Flick ‘Raze’

IFC Midnight acquired North American rights to Cinipix’s action/thriller Raze, directed by Josh Waller, Deadline writes.

The film, written by Robert Beaucage, stars Zoe Bell, Rachel Nichols, Tracie Thoms and Sherilyn Fenn, and made its world premiere at last month’s Tribeca Film Festival.

“Raze follows Sabrina, a woman who is mysteriously abducted and held captive in an underground lair, where she is forced to do battle with other innocents for the amusement of unseen spectators. Each of these reluctant warriors has something to lose, but only one will remain when the game is done.

It’s a pretty solid little flick that’s sort of like Bloodsport without the creative characters. I think you guys will enjoy the brutality of it. READ MORE

See Zoe Bell’s Hard Stare On New ‘Raze’ Poster Image!

Cinipix and Quincy Pictures have supplied Bloody with this exclusive poster image from their horror project Raze, starring Zoe Bell and Rachel Nichols.

The poster shows Sabrina (Bell) looking down the hallway at Jamie (Nichols), prepared to bare knuckle battle to the death in the nearby Raze arena. The featured quote from Joseph (Doug Jones) gives us insight into the gruesome battles between the beautiful and dangerous cast of Raze.

Raze focuses on two abducted women and 50 other women who are forced to fight each other using their bare hands, all for the sadistic enjoyment of an elite, voyeuristic society that follows one rule — Fight or die.

The cast includes Tracie Thoms (Death Proof), Doug Jones (Hellboy), Sherilyn Fenn, Rebecca Marshall (Saw 3D), Bruce Thomas (Hall Pass), Tara Macken (The Hunger Games), Adrienne Wilkinson and Nicole Steinwedell (The Unit).

Shooting recently wrapped on Raze, directed by Josh C. Waller from a script by Robert Beaucage and shot in 4K in Los Angeles.
