Green Day Cancel Remaining 2012 Tour Dates, Postpone Early 2013 Dates, AND Move Up Release Of ‘¡Tre!’

Pop punk band Green Day has cancelled their remaining tour dates for 2012 while postponing all early 2013 dates due to ongoing issues with singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong. The cancelled dates will be available for refund at point of purchase while a new set of tour dates will be released shortly for the postponed dates. All previously purchased tickets will be honored at those shows.

Bassist Mike Dirnt states, “Obviously the timing for this isn’t ideal, but Billie Joe’s well-being is our main concern. We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can’t wait to see you all again soon.

Because of this situation, the band will be releasing ¡Tre!, the third album in their current trilogy, a month in advance, upping the release date from Jan. 15, 2013 to Dec. 11th, 2012.

Drummer Tré Cool adds, “We feel bad we have to delay our tour, so to make up for it we want to give our fans the music earlier than we had planned. If we couldn’t be there to play it for you live, the least we could do was give you the next best thing.

All affected tour dates can be found below. READ MORE

Green Day Announces Dates For ¡UNO!, ¡DOS!, ¡TRÉ! Tour

Green Day have announced the full touring schedule for their ¡UNO!, ¡DOS!, ¡TRÉ! tour, which begins at the end of November and continues until a bit more than a week into Feb. 2013. The tour will be in support of their upcoming trilogy of albums entitled, you guessed it, ¡UNO!, ¡DOS!, and ¡TRÉ!. The full touring schedule can be seen below.

¡UNO! will be coming out Sept. 25th, the ¡DOS!, Nov. 13th, and the final album ¡TRÉ! will be released Jan. 15th, 2013.

I’m surprised that there isn’t a Detroit date. I’m sure if they played at the Palace Of Auburn Hills, they would sell it out within an hour. But this actually makes life much easier for me. Now I don’t have to avoid an area that will be permeated by 30-somethings wearing eyeliner and torn denim jackets with Suicidal Tendencies patches. Thanks Green Day for looking out for me! READ MORE

Angry Birds: Green Day Edition Coming

This is where I shake my head and wonder, “What the hell is going on?” Pop-punk band Green Day, it seems, will be getting their own version of the hit mobile game Angry Birds. While no official trailer or photos have been released, the Japanese Angry Birds twitter posted a photo of three silhouetted pigs, that appear to have spiky hair, with the hashtag #greendaypigs. On the band’s official website, there is a photo of one of the spiky haired pigs but in color with pink x-ed out eyes.

I was super into Angry Birds for a while and then I just stopped caring. Is the game even still that big? Or is the idea of it larger than the actual following? READ MORE

Green Day Release Trailer For Upcoming Album ‘¡Uno!’

Green Day have released a short trailer promoting their upcoming album ¡Uno!, which will hit streets Sept. 25th, 2012. The album is the first in a trilogy, with the second album, ¡Dos!, coming out Nov. 13th, 2012 and the third album, ¡Tre!, coming out Jan. 15, 2013. The trailer also shows the album artwork for ¡Uno!. Pre-orders for the albums will be coming soon to GreenDay.com. You can watch the trailer below.

Listening to the music in the trailer, it’s not like any Green Day I’ve ever heard, although I will fully admit to not caring about or listening to their music for the past few albums. As a matter of fact, what I’m hearing is actually pretty catchy and has some cool vibes going. Maybe I’ll give this album a try. Maybe. READ MORE
