Two New TV Spots For Tim Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie’!

Walt Disney Pictures has two new TV Spots for Frankenweenie, Tim Burton’s latest animated feature in which a young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences.

While Tim Burton has been in a creative rut recently, I have to say that this is a film that could be well served by that rut. Sure, it looks very much its composed of stock Burton aesthetics, but the stop motion technique renders them in a more striking manner than his recent live action work does.

The voice cast includes four actors who worked with Burton on previous films: Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands), Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas), Martin Short (Mars Attacks!) and Martin Landau (Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow), while Charlie Tahan and Atticus Shaffer were later added.

Frankenweenie jumps into your lap on October 5th. Head inside for the spots! READ MORE

New TV Spot For Season 7 Of “Dexter” Teases The Brother/Sister Connection

“Dexter” returns Sunday, September 30 at 9 p.m. on Showtime and their most recent TV Spot is a vast improvement over the last one. It at least shows some footage, even if it’s not footage from the show itself. Instead, we get Deb and Dex staring longingly at each other as blood careens off the edge of a blade and drips on the floor. The spot, entitled “Truth Brings Light”, hints that this season will explore head-on the conflicts that arise after Deb admits her more-than-platonic love for Dexter – and discovers that he is indeed a killer (if not discovering that he’s the Bay Harbor Butcher outright).

Kicking off the first of the probable final two seasons, Yvonne Strahovski will play Hannah McKay, a strong, independent woman with a past that she’s struggled to put behind her on the Michael C. Hall-Jennifer Carpenter serial killer drama. As Miami Metro reopens old cases, the department turns to her for assistance as Hall’s Dexter Morgan begins to wonder if there’s more to Hannah than what she reveals.

As previously reported, Katia Winter will play a Russian stripper who works at a Miami club and joins Season 7 newbies Jason Gedrick — who will play the manger of the same Miami strip club — and Ray Stevenson, who has been cast as the leader of a Russian organized crime syndicate.

Head inside to check it out. READ MORE

Prototype 2′s Commercial Looks Like It’s Straight Out Of A Kick Ass Movie

Lez b honest here. These video game trailers and commercials are looking so good lately it’s actually making me mad. Because we watch Hollywood time and time again rape our favorite video games. I’m still waiting for confirmation that Nathan Fillion will be playing Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movies. Alas we are stuck with these incredible love action commercials and trailers from video games that look better than the shitty video game movies that get cranked out. Check out the video past the break, if you haven’t already seen the commercial.

New 60 Second ‘Dark Shadows’ TV Spot Makes You Cry Uncle!

New 60 Second Dark Shadows TV Spot Makes You Cry Uncle!

Okay, Dark Shadows we know you exist! I’m actually not down on the movie – aside from he lame Alice Cooper joke – I have no real beef with any of the bus ads, character posters, standees, teasers, teasers for trailers, trailer, or TV spots. I’m actually kind of looking forward to this even though I’ve hated the last few Tim Burton films. But I’d say there’s a lot of awareness, wouldn’t you? Give those trailer cutters a break WB!

In theaters May 11 from director Tim Burton, “The story focuses on Barnabas Collins (Depp), who was transformed into a vampire by a jilted lover (Eva Green’s witch Angelique) way back in the 1700s and buried. He’s just been dug up, and attempts to reintegrate with his descendants, led by Michelle Pfeiffer’s Elizabeth and Jonny Lee Miller’s Roger – despite the fact that Angelique is still around and still not in a forgiving mood.

The clip is inside and, miraculously, manages to include new footage. READ MORE

The Fourth ‘Dark Shadows’ TV Spot Offers Vampire Legend

2darkshadowsgallery031512 The Fourth Dark Shadows TV Spot Offers Vampire Legend

Remember just a few short weeks ago when we were worried that there might never be a trailer for Dark Shadows? How quaint those days seem now as we’re drowning in a deluge of footage. For my money though, this still looks way better than Alice In Wonderland. Tim Burton’s latest arriving in theaters May 11. The original followed the life of vampire Barnabas Collins, played by Johnny Depp in the rehash, and his run-ins with various monsters, ghosts, and supernatural creatures.

cabinscreen120511 New The Cabin In The Woods TV Spot Acquires Its Target!

The Cabin In The Woods hits next month and you should definitely go see it on opening day. It’s an incredibly bold film that completely nails its ambitious premise. New ‘Silent House’ TV Spot Only Hints At What’s To Come

1silenthouseimages020312 New Silent House TV Spot Only Hints At Whats To Come

Open Road Films and Liddell Entertainment’s Silent House provides another great showcase for Elizabeth Olsen (following Martha Marcy May Marlene). It’s entirely up to her to carry this “real-time” supernatural thriller and she more than pulls it off with an intense, layered performance.

The pic, which premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival, was co-directed by filmmaking duo Chris Kentis and Laura Lau, who left audiences terrified with the hit film Open Water.

‘Silent House’ is a uniquely unsettling horror thriller starring Elizabeth Olsen as Sarah, a young woman who finds herself sealed inside her family’s secluded lake house. With no contact to the outside world, and no way out, panic turns to terror as events become increasingly ominous in and around the house.

The screenplay was written by Laura Lau and based on the Uruguayan film La Casa Muda, written by Oscar Estevez. Visit the Facebook to become a fan.

The film opens March 9th. Hit the jump to check out the new TV Spot! READ MORE

[Interview]: Mark Neveldine & Brian Taylor Talk ‘Ghost Rider 2′, Punk Rock Filmmaking, ‘Crank 3′ And What Happened To ‘Jonah Hex’!

NeveldineTaylor21412 [Interview]: Mark Neveldine & Brian Taylor Talk Ghost Rider 2, Punk Rock Filmmaking, Crank 3 And What Happened To Jonah Hex!

While you’ll have to wait until Friday for my full review of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D, I’ll at the very least tell you that it has little in common with its predecessor aside from the title and the casting of Nicolas Cage. It’s a completely different aesthetic, so much so that the film is almost in a different genre than the first one.

Most of that has to do with Directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank, Gamer, Crank 2). Working from a script by David Goyer, they fashion the franchise into something that is unmistakably their own.

In the successor to the worldwide hit ‘Ghost Rider,’ Johnny – still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter – is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Ciaran Hinds). At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy – and possibly rid himself of his curse forever.

I recently had a chance to sit down with the two collaborators in a New York City hotel room for a chat over coffee. Their enthusiasm and love for what they do is readily apparent and the conversation flowed freely from the new film to their take on what may have happened with the troubled Jonah Hex to Crank 3, which they hope to have in theaters next year.

Ghost Rider 2: Spirit Of Vengeance 3D hits theaters on February 17th. It stars Nicolas Cage, Ciaran Hinds, Violante Placido, Idris Elba and Johnny Whitworth.

Idris Elba Tears It Up In New Clip From ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance 3D’!

gridernewhires011612 Idris Elba Tears It Up In New Clip From Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance 3D!

Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D, which Columbia Pictures is releasing on February 17, is upping the octane in terms of the amount of footage they’re showing.

This newest clip shows Idris Elba’s character, Moreau, engaging in some motorcycle hijinks of his very own. I guess Nic Cage isn’t supposed to be the only badass in the film.

It has been several years since making a deal with the Devil and Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage), living in self-imposed isolation, finds himself as the only person who can help save 10-year-old Danny – and ultimately the world – thanks to his unwanted and uncontrollable power – his ability to transform into the hell-on-wheels monster known as The Ghost Rider.

The shocking truth about his disappearance is out there, somewhere, just waiting to be discovered. To the millions of kids who grew up watching his nature show, Dr. Cole was a hero. At the urging of his mother, Tess (Hope), Lincoln reluctantly joins her on a search for his father. To fund the rescue, they agree to let Dr. Cole’s cagey ex-producer, Clark (Paul Blackthorne), film the mission documentary-style. I’m kind of not sure why this mystery is still being kept tight-lipped, especially considering Bloody Disgusting exclusively broke the story before Kate Beckinsale had even signed onto star. Either way, the first TV Spot for Underworld: Awakening gives us a look at India Eisley, a young girl who plays a vampire/Lycan hybrid. Originally slated to be a twin – maybe that will come into play in the next sequel? – this young girl is Selene’s (Beckinsale) daughter and is primed to take over the franchise. The new commercial shares a very good look at her, teasing a bit of that hybrid look. Cool stuff!
