Unearth Touring With Whitechapel, Emmure, And More: Fear Factory Bassist Filling In During Tour

Metal Blade Records band Unearth has announced that they will be supporting Whitechapel, and Emmure with additional support coming from Obey The Brave, and The Plot In You. The tour will begin Jan. 8th, 2013 in Knoxville, TN and will end Feb. 11th in New York City, NY. The full touring schedule can be seen below.

Vocalist Trevor Phipps says, “John “Slo” Maggard will unfortunately be sitting out the Brothers of Brutality Tour (Whitechapel, Emmure, Obey the Brave, The Plot In You) this coming January/February. His absence is simply to take care of personal matters at home and is only temporary. Slo will remain a member of Unearth moving forward and is actively involved in the writing process for our next album, which we plan to record and release some time in 2013.

Luckily, our long time friend Matt DeVries (Fear Factory, ex-Chimaira) will be taking over bass duties for the tour.

DeVries added, “I couldn’t be more excited to be filling in on bass for my long time friends in Unearth on the upcoming Brothers Of Brutality Tour. They are like family to me and I’m extremely happy to step up to the plate for my good buddy Slo! READ MORE

Born Of Osiris About To Hit The Road: Announce Plans For New Album

Starting on Thursday, Born Of Osiris will be hitting the road with Unearth for the month of November. Support will also come from The Contortionist, Obey The Brave, and Wolves At The Gate. Then, in February, the band will be touring Europe with After The Burial, Monuments, and The Haarp Machine.

However, the band is not only content hitting the road. They’ve also announced that they are close to completing the songwriting process for their follow-up to The Discovery and will enter the studio in the spring with Nick Sampson (I Am Abomination) to track the new effort.

Lee McKinney (guitars) states: “I would say the direction of this album is along the lines of The Discovery, but definitely a lot heavier and a lot more focused when it comes to song structure. We’re trying to give each song a powerful, thematic feel. This next record takes all of the best aspects of The Discovery and develops the ideas even further. We already have so much material that we plan on revising and refining over the next few months. While we do that we will still continue to write more and in the end I think we’ll pick the strongest 10-12 songs so we can drop the best BORN OF OSIRIS record to date.

All That Remains Post Video For ‘Hold On’

All That Remains has just premiered the video for their massive new single “Hold On” exclusively on MySpace Music.  The clip, helmed by Ramon Boutviseth (Trivium, Dream Theatre), features a narrative involving a variety of characters dealing with internal struggles and their inability to change their fate as their world crumbles down around them, both figuratively and literally.  The force behind the destruction is the manifestation of their dark emotions, which All That Remains embodies as they unleash an epic performance in a post-apocalyptic urban wasteland.

“Hold On” is the first single for ATR’s new album For We Are Many, one of the most highly anticipated metal albums of 2010, coming out through Prosthetic Records / Razor & Tie on October 12th.  The album hits the same day the band heads out on a month-long U.S. headlining tour with support from Asking Alexandria, Unearth, Born Of Osiris, & And She Whispered.  Decibel Magazine called the album, “Proof that neck-snapping tempos, thoughtful soloing and a catchy chorus or three can co-exist,” while Outburn Magazine remarked, “If there was ever any question as to whether All That Remains deserved to be considered among the melodic metalcore elite, For We Are Many will dispel any lingering doubts once and for all.”
The album can preordered now via Prosthetic Records.  An exclusive version of it is available for pre-order on iTunes which includes a bonus track available, and an instant download of “Hold On”.

Tangents Offers FREE MP3 Download Today

AOL Radio today features “The Pieces Fall,” the first single from Boston-based rock duo Tangents as part of their free weekly “DownloadTuesday” series.  The song comes from the band’s forthcoming debut album, One Little Light Year, set for nationwide release on October 26.

Tangents is not what most will expect musically from drummer Derek Kerswill (Unearth/Seemless) and Dave Witham (Of the Hour/Flat-12).  Kerswill’s musical diversity and rhythmic approach provides a solid foundation for the album, propelling the tracks forward with great intensity.  Add to it the lush and organic sound of vocalist/guitarist Dave Witham and Tangents soars in the vein of Jeff Buckley, As Tall As Lions, even Radiohead.  Witham’s magnificent voice rises over a spiraling sonic backdrop with dazzling control and splendor.  The album’s ambitious songwriting creates the catchiest music either musician has released to date.

Unearth and The Black Dahlia Murder To Tour Australia and Japan

After wrapping up their headlining run with the hugely successful Atticus Metal Tour II, Unearth are taking their show overseas. First, they’ll conquer Japan, Australia and New Zealand with label mates, The Black Dahlia Murder. Once that run is over, the guys are taking what will be one of the longest flights ever to the United Kingdom for a European tour with 36 Crazyfists.
Unearth vocalist Trevor Phipps comments: “What better way to spend our May and June than touring Japan, Australia and New Zealand with our buds in The Black Dahlia Murder and also hitting up much of Europe and the summer festivals with our boys in 36 Crazy Fists? I don’t really see a point in trying to answer that question because there isn’t a better answer. If you live in any of the places I mentioned, come on out, bang your heads, hit the pit, drink some beer and do some stupid shit. This is our last go around the World until 2011, so let’s make this a rager for the ages. See you soon, World!”
