All Stars 2013 Tour Line-Up Announced

The ‘All Stars 2013′ tour line-up is taking shape and will be heading out this summer for a full schedule. While no dates have yet been officially announced, the vast majority of acts have been released, beginning with Every Time I Die, who will be the tour headliner. The tour will also feature Chelsea Grin, Veil of Maya, Terror, Stray From The Path, Capture The Crown, IwrestledABearOnce, For All Those Sleeping, and DayShell. Structures, Volumes, and other bands who will be announced in the coming weeks will also be performing in select markets.

Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley states, “We’ve always put a lot of effort into making this band work and when we perform we do so at the highest level of intensity, so to finally be deemed an ‘AllStar’ is a dream come true. I plan on relaxing in a hot tub with Wade Boggs or smoking huge cigars with Ronnie Harmon talking about our visits to Hollywood. Those are just some casual things us AllStars do when we’re not giving 110%. But that’s rare. This tour has a solid line-up and we’re excited to be a part of it. See you all this summer.READ MORE

The Acacia Strain Release Horrifying Image Of Van Accident

Yesterday, we reported that The Acacia Strain were forced to drop off their current tour with Veil Of Maya due to a serious van accident. It was said that crew and band members needed to go to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. However, that was all that we heard.

Now, the band has released an image of the van post-accident and it’s nothing short of terrifying. The van has flipped over onto its top, the front end crushed in, and the trailer torn open like a can of tuna. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have been in the van at the time of the accident. I’m quite honestly amazed that there were no serious injuries. As awful a situation as they are in, luck was with them.

Head below to check out the image. READ MORE

The Acacia Strain Forced To Leave Tour With Veil Of Maya Due To Van Accident

Members of the band and crew are being treated for minor injuries. The band was touring in support of their latest album Death Is The Only Mortal (iTunes), which came out in early October.

Front man Vincent Bennett commented, “Canceling tour dates is something we hate doing but we will make it up to all of you. We are all very grateful to be alive and will see you in the New Year.”

We wish all those involved a speedy recovery! Did you get to see them before the accident? READ MORE

[LOL] Will Smith Dances To Death Metal

I was never one to watch The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. Sorry, I know that I just basically made a bunch of you feel like you were slapped across the face. What can I say? It just wasn’t my type of show. I was more interested in James Bond reruns on TBS or popping in my VHS copy of Jurassic Park when I got home from school. But if you think I didn’t know about Will Smith and his family-friendly, pure ways, you’re sorely mistaken. He was the rapper that parents WANTED to buy a CD for their kids. He was the wholesome, exciting actor that drove box office revenue through the roof.

But there’s a darker side to Will Smith, a side that TV producers and executives didn’t want you to see. And below is the ultimate moment of corruption and aural violence that would’ve shocked households across the nation. Below you can see Will Smith dancing to Amputated‘s “Gargling With Infected Semen”. Oh, and as a bonus you get Carlton dancing to Veil Of Maya. Enjoy! READ MORE

[Exclusive] NSFW Video Premiere For Job For A Cowboy’s “Tarnished Gluttony”

Bloody-Disgusting has teamed up with Metal Blade Records artist Job For A Cowboy to bring you an amazing, intense music video for their song “Tarnished Gluttony”, which comes off their latest album Demonocracy. Directed by Michael Panduro (the man behind the fantastic Cephalic CarnageOhrwurm” video), the video is deceptively subtle, almost poetic. Suddenly, everything changes in one horrific moment. Featuring strong Lovecraft-ian elements, this music video is definitely NSFW, so take heed and be careful where you watch it.

Job For A Cowboy are currently on tour on the Summer Slaughter Festival. Remaining tour dates are below. READ MORE

Between The Buried And Me Discuss New Album

Metal Blade Records artist Between The Buried And Me will be releasing The Parallax II: Full Sequence, their seventh full-length studio album, on October 9th. Jamie King, friend of the band and producer, engineered, mixed, and mastered the album while Chandler Owen has taken care of the artwork.

The album is a continuation of the story of their 2011 EP, The Parallax: Hypersleep. Guitarist Paul Waggoner further explains, “The two main characters of the story take on a journey through space and time with the unenviable task of having to cure the flaws of humanity by any means necessary. While the EP served mostly as an introduction to the characters, Future Sequence contains the action of the story. The lyrics are written in the stream of consciousness style, which really helps to capture the perspective and emotion of the characters. We really enjoyed the challenge of writing this record, and I think we were all pleasantly surprised with how well the music and lyrics jived with one another. I couldn’t be happier with how Future Sequence turned out.”

Read on for more information from vocalist/keyboardist Tommy Rogers as well as the official artwork for the album and tour dates for The Summer Slaughter Tour, which sees BTBAM touring with bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Periphery, Veil of Maya, and many more. READ MORE

Job For A Cowboy Bassist To Miss Several Summer Slaughter Dates

Nick Schendzielos, bassist of Job For A Cowboy, will be forced to sit out the first few weeks of the Summer Slaughter Tour due to his girlfriend being involved in a head-on collision on her scooter. Mike “Gunface” McKenzie from The Red Chord will be taking his place during that time. All tour dates for the festival, which is headlined by Cannibal Corpse and features bands such as Periphery, Between The Buried and Me, The Faceless, and more, can be seen below.

Comments Schendzielos: “Hey friends: On June 28, immediately after landing in Boston to rehearse for Puerto Rico/Summer Slaughter, my girlfriend was in a head-on collision on her scooter. She sustained very serious head and bodily injuries. I flew right home, and we’ve been in the ICU for a week and are still in the hospital to make sure everything is okay. She needs 24/7 supervision for at least two weeks once we get out of here, so I’m very grateful to announce that Gunface from The Red Chord is going to help me out filling in on Summer Slaughter until I can meet back up with it. We love the dude very much and it’s going to be really cool for both JFAC and TRC fans to see. Enormous thanks for understanding this difficult situation and I’ll be back as soon as possible!”

Adds McKenzie: “I’m excited to be playing with JFAC on this tour. Great dudes in this band as well as in the bands on Summer Slaughter. Playing bass is a little different for me but definitely an interesting challenge. I’m definitely looking forward to getting out on the road again. Nick’s bass work is incredible and I’m working hard to get all of his parts down. Sending positive vibes out to him and his lady.”

My best wishes go out to Schendzielos’ girlfriend on a speedy recovery. READ MORE

An Exposé On The “Satanic Illuminati” Messages Of Metal Bands

A video entitled “Exposing Metal Bands (satanic illuminati) PART 1″ from user AprilAndWayneShow has been slowly gaining interest on YouTube (as of this posting, the video has over 70k views). The video takes several metal bands, including Whitechapel, Veil of Maya, Suicide Silence, and more, and “proves” that their music, their visuals, and their lyrics all promote the worship of Satan and steer people away from the one true religion: Christianity.

Rife with spelling and grammar errors, the video and the “proof” is full of holes. For instance, in trying to convince the viewer that the musicians are possessed by the Devil, the video uses quotes directly from musicians such as “…It’s like a mysterious energy that comes from the metaphysical plane and into my body. It’s almost like being a medium…” (Marc Storace of Krokus) or, “…I’ve always considered tha there was some way where we were able to channel energy, and that energy was able to be, from another source, if you like, like a higher power or something, that was actually doing the work.” (Bill Ward of Black Sabbath).

Notice that neither of these quotes discusses whether it is God or Satan that is the “energy”. It’s simply the fact that these are metal musicians that makes them inherently evil.

The joke of a video can be seen below along with another video that, for as amusing as it is, is also very applicable in this situation. READ MORE

[LOL] Bear At Zoo Headbangs For Children

heavymetalbear [LOL] Bear At Zoo Headbangs For Children
Much like the rest of the Internet, I’m a fan of cute animal photos/videos. Just because I love me some blood, gore, heavy metal, and Chris Brown bashing (I had to get that in there) doesn’t mean I’m not able to be seduced and wooed by the cuteness of the animal kingdom.
But when these interests collide, I’m made so happy that I could just burst with glee. Below, you’ll find a video of a bear headbanging in front of several children (who join along for a little bit) to the dulcet tones of Veil Of Maya‘s 20/200. A single tear of happiness just rolled down my cheek.

Periphery has announced a contest for all you audio techs and DJ’s out there: Remix their song ‘Icarus Lives’ and it might just appear on their upcoming EP, Icarus Lives!, which is scheduled to be released in early 2011. Here is what guitarist Misha Mansoor has said about this contest: ”Hey guys, since all of us in PERIPHERY are such huge electronic music fans, we came up with a fun idea. We want to do a remix contest for our song ‘Icarus Lives!’ just to see what all you talented folk out there could do with it. We will give you just the vocals and let you go to town on it, be it a trance, house, dubstep, electronica, glitch, drum & bass or whatever your flavor is remix. Make it as crazy or as true to the original as you want, or anything in between, we want to hear what you guys can do, but originality and creativity are always well appreciated. The best part is that the winner’s song will be on our upcoming EP that is due early next year. Have at it.”
