Naughty Dog Has Created Quite An Amazing World For ‘The Last Of Us’

I’m incredibly excited for The Last Of Us. I love developer videos for games, because you don’t quite understand how much goes into a game until you see them. In this latest video, which you can check out past the break, the team goes in depth on extensive lighting, dead foliage, and much more. The Last Of Us comes out June 14th exclusively for the Playstation 3.

Hey! A ‘Godzilla’ Video That Isn’t Just A Bunch Of Extras Standing Around!

Legendary’s now-filming Godzilla reboot, helmed by Monsters director Gareth Edwards, has seen a lot of news footage leak out of the military exercises they’re shooting right off the bat. To some degree, this stuff is interesting. But you reach a certain saturation point with it. Now, we’ve got a video that’s actually pretty cool – a well-shot look at one of the rappelling stunt sequences in this section of the film.

Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Johnson, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins and Richard T. Jones round out the cast. Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce along with Mary Parent. Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham penned the script. Production is (obviously) currently underway.

Character descriptions, along with other plot details, are under wraps for now. Warner Bros. will handle distribution on May 16, 2014.

[Random Cool] Behind The Scenes With Sigourney Weaver As “Ripley 7″ In ‘Alien: Resurrection’!

I may strongly dislike Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Alien: Resurrection as whole, but there are elements of it that I can certainly get behind. It’s a film brimming over with cool ideas.

One of those ideas was the failed “Ripley clones” that litter the first act of the film. studioADI have shared another great old-school video from their archives, this time showing Sigourney Weaver undergoing makeup and prosthetics as “Ripley 7.

One of the most effective scenes in ALIEN RESURRECTION was when Ripley confronts herself in the form of a failed, but still alive experiment. The scene was shot on two different days. On Day One we put her into the slant-board rig and blended her at the neck to an articulated silicone body. On Day Two, Sigourney, as Ripley, interacted with herself. We attached a replica of her head onto our mechanical body and puppeteered it from below to to help her emote. She was spectacular in the scene, at the end of which she torched the hero body into silicone jelly. Sad to see our animatronic go up in flames, but giving Sigourney an acting partner to play off made it worth it

[Video Interview] Conor McMahon And Tommy Knight On The Kills Of ‘Stitches’ And A Potential ‘Stitches 2′!

I loved Stitches almost as much as Mr. Disgusting (read his review). I recently sat down with the film’s writer/director Conor McMahon and one of its’ stars, Tommy Knight to talk about preserving character in a slasher full of inventive kills. We also touch on the possibility of Stitches 2.

Years after a cruel kids’ prank during a birthday party for 8-year-old Tommy (Tommy Knight, Doctor Who, The Sarah Jane Adventures) left hired clown Richard “Stitches” Grindle (Ross Noble) dead on the kitchen floor, the childhood friends gather to plan a birthday bash to end all bashes. But they haven’t counted on the degenerate jester rising from the grave to seek vengeance on the children who mocked him and caused his grisly, untimely end. Now Tommy and his teenage friends are on the run from an undead jokester who’s ready to use every trick in the book (and many that aren’t) to exact his revenge. McMahon delivers a delirious slasher epic, a hilariously twisted and blood-soaked tale of one very bad clown with a talent for making balloon animals – but with one very hideous difference.

[Random Cool] Watch Helen Hunt And Gwyneth Paltrow Vie For Laura Dern’s Role In ‘Jurassic Park’!

While Universal is banging the drum for the Jurassic Park 3D re-release – in theaters this Friday, April 5th – they’re having the talent involved with the film reminisce to major outlets about its’ 20th Anniversary. Here’s an interview Laura Dern and Sam Neill did for “The Today Show”, and there’s a cool look at what might have been! Still think Dern was the right choice for the role though.

It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a nice little look at what could have been. I like Paltrow, but she was way too young and soft at the time to play Dr. Ellie Sattler. Head inside to check it out! READ MORE

New Gameplay From Vampire Game ‘Dark’ Leaves Me Worried

Dark is our chance to get a good vampire game. Though vampires seem to be taking over tv and movies, we haven’t seen much of an influx in the video game world. Which is a shame because if the right company starts putting the effort towards a game the genre could become as big as zombies have. What does make me nervous about Dark is that it looks like it might focus too heavily on stealth. It makes sense because vampires are usually pretty stealthy. However, it could also hurt the game if it becomes repetitive and boring. I’ll let you make that decision. Head past the break to check out the latest game play video and game features.

New ‘Dead State’ Video Highlights Turn-Based Combat

I’ve never bee a huge fan of games with turn-based combat, so when I first heard about its implementation in the crowdfunded zombie RPG Dead State, I’ll admit I was a little worried. After seeing it in action however, it looks intriguing. This will definitely make the fights more intense, since it forces you to get up close and personal where one mistake can get you killed. I’m all for that. Feel free to watch the 10-minute demo with DoubleBear’s Brian Mitsoda and decide for yourself.

‘Gears Of War: Judgement’ Introduces The Awesome Tripwire Crossbow

Did you daylight savings time junkies set your clocks forward? I lost a whole hour of gaming last night! Bullshit! The Tripwire Crossbow. Let’s talk about it. It’s a lot like the Detonator in Dead Space 2 and 3. Basically you fire it at a wall, and a laser beam goes from one wall to another. If anything or any one walks into it, BLAMO! The different between using it in Dead Space, and using it in Gears Judgement, is we’re going to have some excellent online multiplayer to use the Tripwire Crossbow. Check out the video below to get a taste. Gears Of War: Judgement comes out March 19th in the US, exclusively for the Xbox 360.

‘Deadpool’ Mouths Off Some More In This Gameplay Trailer

You’ve got to love Deadpool. He’s such a dick. Not many characters can get away with it as smoothy as he can. I get it Duke Nukem, you’re a pervert. You’re also old and creepy. I get this sinking feeling the Deadpool game could be terrible because we don’t see many awesome Marvel Universe games, but I do have a shred of hope. Maybe I’m just holding on too dearly to my childhood. Check out the gameplay trailer past the break, and lookout for Deadpool this summer on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Let’s Get To Know ‘Resident Evil’s’ Leading Lady With A Jill Valentine Retrospective

On Valentine’s Day, Capcom paid tribute to Jill Valentine, one of the main characters from the Resident Evil games. Yes, I know I’m late with this. Forgive me, for the Internet is vast and awfully difficult to keep track of. If you’re not as familiar with Ms. Valentine as you’d like to be and you have around ten minutes to get to know her a little better, this is definitely worth watching. Even if you’re crazy familiar with her and the Resident Evil games, it’s still interesting to see her character change over the years, from STARS officer to the badass, skin-tight suit wearing superhero Jill we know and love/hate today.

The Second Part In The ‘Tomb Raider’ Survival Guide Cracks Exploration Wide Open

Past Tomb Raider games were somewhat streamlined. There wasn’t much room for extensive exploration apart from the main storyline. In the new Tomb Raider you have a map of the island you’re stuck on and there is a lot more you can explore. In the video past the break ‘Guide To Survival Episode #2′, you will learn all about it. There are a lot more areas to explore, and many you can not progress in unless Lara herself has gotten the right items, weapons, or skills learned to do so. I love this because the Tomb Raider games definitely needed to take a turn in the direction of open exploration. But in case you don’t want to stray too far from your main mission you can easily get right back on track using your map. Check out the video past the break.
