This is one of the key moments from Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem, and it’s sort of something I’d recommend waiting to see in the complete movie. But if you want it, the clip (via Rolling Stone) is here. The film stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Bruce Davison, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Ken Foree, Patricia Quinn, Dee Wallace, Maria Conchita Alonso, Judy Geeson, Meg Foster and Griffin Boice.
“From the singular mind of horror maestro Rob Zombie comes a chilling plunge into a nightmare world where evil runs in the blood. The Lords of Salem tells the tale of Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie), a radio station DJ living in Salem, Massachusetts, who receives a strange wooden box containing a record, a “gift from the Lords.” Heidi listens, and the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of the town’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad, or are the “Lords of Salem” returning for revenge on modern-day Salem?”
Here’s Brad’s review out of TIFF, as well as Mike’s more positive take. The Lords Of Salem is in limited theaters (New York, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Detroit) April 19 from Anchor Bay Films.

Thanks to Lonnie for the heads up on this. Coming May 1st as a standalone downloadable game is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. From the video it seems it doesn’t actually have anything to do with Far Cry 3, though there could be some nods later in the game. The guys over at IGN got a chance to check out the first 15 minutes of the game, and god damn does it look like fun. The game gives off a hardcore 80′s action movie vibe, and it’s hilarious and knows it. Right off the bat from the music, to achievements to the dialogue, it starts referencing some of classics from that magical era. Check out the video past the break. Trust me it’s worth watching through to the end.
I’m incredibly excited for The Last Of Us. I love developer videos for games, because you don’t quite understand how much goes into a game until you see them. In this latest video, which you can check out past the break, the team goes in depth on extensive lighting, dead foliage, and much more. The Last Of Us comes out June 14th exclusively for the Playstation 3.
Legendary’s now-filming Godzilla reboot, helmed by Monsters director Gareth Edwards, has seen a lot of news footage leak out of the military exercises they’re shooting right off the bat. To some degree, this stuff is interesting. But you reach a certain saturation point with it. Now, we’ve got a video that’s actually pretty cool – a well-shot look at one of the rappelling stunt sequences in this section of the film.
Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Johnson, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins and Richard T. Jones round out the cast. Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce along with Mary Parent. Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham penned the script. Production is (obviously) currently underway.
Character descriptions, along with other plot details, are under wraps for now. Warner Bros. will handle distribution on May 16, 2014.
What’s better than a red band trailer? An extended red band trailer, obviously, duh. The Last Of Us is definitely looking like one of those rare games that gives non PS3 gamers a reason to buy one. In this trailer we get an awesome and gory look at what it takes to survive in the post apocalyptic world The Last Of Us will thrust us into. Check it out past the break, and don’t forget about the games release this June exclusively on the Playstation 3.
I may strongly dislike Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Alien: Resurrection as whole, but there are elements of it that I can certainly get behind. It’s a film brimming over with cool ideas.
One of those ideas was the failed “Ripley clones” that litter the first act of the film. studioADI have shared another great old-school video from their archives, this time showing Sigourney Weaver undergoing makeup and prosthetics as “Ripley 7.
“One of the most effective scenes in ALIEN RESURRECTION was when Ripley confronts herself in the form of a failed, but still alive experiment. The scene was shot on two different days. On Day One we put her into the slant-board rig and blended her at the neck to an articulated silicone body. On Day Two, Sigourney, as Ripley, interacted with herself. We attached a replica of her head onto our mechanical body and puppeteered it from below to to help her emote. She was spectacular in the scene, at the end of which she torched the hero body into silicone jelly. Sad to see our animatronic go up in flames, but giving Sigourney an acting partner to play off made it worth it”

I loved Stitches almost as much as Mr. Disgusting (read his review). I recently sat down with the film’s writer/director Conor McMahon and one of its’ stars, Tommy Knight to talk about preserving character in a slasher full of inventive kills. We also touch on the possibility of Stitches 2.
“Years after a cruel kids’ prank during a birthday party for 8-year-old Tommy (Tommy Knight, Doctor Who, The Sarah Jane Adventures) left hired clown Richard “Stitches” Grindle (Ross Noble) dead on the kitchen floor, the childhood friends gather to plan a birthday bash to end all bashes. But they haven’t counted on the degenerate jester rising from the grave to seek vengeance on the children who mocked him and caused his grisly, untimely end. Now Tommy and his teenage friends are on the run from an undead jokester who’s ready to use every trick in the book (and many that aren’t) to exact his revenge. McMahon delivers a delirious slasher epic, a hilariously twisted and blood-soaked tale of one very bad clown with a talent for making balloon animals – but with one very hideous difference.”

While Universal is banging the drum for the Jurassic Park 3D re-release – in theaters this Friday, April 5th – they’re having the talent involved with the film reminisce to major outlets about its’ 20th Anniversary. Here’s an interview Laura Dern and Sam Neill did for “The Today Show”, and there’s a cool look at what might have been! Still think Dern was the right choice for the role though.
It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a nice little look at what could have been. I like Paltrow, but she was way too young and soft at the time to play Dr. Ellie Sattler. Head inside to check it out! READ MORE
Dark is our chance to get a good vampire game. Though vampires seem to be taking over tv and movies, we haven’t seen much of an influx in the video game world. Which is a shame because if the right company starts putting the effort towards a game the genre could become as big as zombies have. What does make me nervous about Dark is that it looks like it might focus too heavily on stealth. It makes sense because vampires are usually pretty stealthy. However, it could also hurt the game if it becomes repetitive and boring. I’ll let you make that decision. Head past the break to check out the latest game play video and game features.
You shouldn’t be on the fence about at least trying Deadly Premonition. Everyone needs to at least TRY it. If you’re still unsure maybe the trailer below will convince you otherwise. It gives you the slightest twisted look into the seemingly normal town of Greenvale. April 30th you can pick up the Deadly Premonition: Directors Cut exclusively for the Playstation 3.
I’ve never bee a huge fan of games with turn-based combat, so when I first heard about its implementation in the crowdfunded zombie RPG Dead State, I’ll admit I was a little worried. After seeing it in action however, it looks intriguing. This will definitely make the fights more intense, since it forces you to get up close and personal where one mistake can get you killed. I’m all for that. Feel free to watch the 10-minute demo with DoubleBear’s Brian Mitsoda and decide for yourself. READ MORE
Did you daylight savings time junkies set your clocks forward? I lost a whole hour of gaming last night! Bullshit! The Tripwire Crossbow. Let’s talk about it. It’s a lot like the Detonator in Dead Space 2 and 3. Basically you fire it at a wall, and a laser beam goes from one wall to another. If anything or any one walks into it, BLAMO! The different between using it in Dead Space, and using it in Gears Judgement, is we’re going to have some excellent online multiplayer to use the Tripwire Crossbow. Check out the video below to get a taste. Gears Of War: Judgement comes out March 19th in the US, exclusively for the Xbox 360.
You’ve got to love Deadpool. He’s such a dick. Not many characters can get away with it as smoothy as he can. I get it Duke Nukem, you’re a pervert. You’re also old and creepy. I get this sinking feeling the Deadpool game could be terrible because we don’t see many awesome Marvel Universe games, but I do have a shred of hope. Maybe I’m just holding on too dearly to my childhood. Check out the gameplay trailer past the break, and lookout for Deadpool this summer on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
Right now the Midwest is getting raped. With snow. As soon as I’m done here I have to go outside and shovel until I want to pass out. Then drive to Best Buy in the nightmare mother nature has created to get my copy of Tomb Raider. Past the break you can find the launch trailer that should get you amped for today’s release. It’s getting phenomenal reviews and scores so I can’t express my excitement. Just know it will make all the shoveling worth while.
Beyond: Two Souls is taking on the form of a fancy Hollywood blockbuster movie with the likes of Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe as 2 of the main characters. Quantic Dream has gone above and beyond to make their characters as real as possible, those of you who played Heavy Rain know from experience. If you head past the break you can see Willem Dafoe’s reveal trailer, followed by a motion capture behind the scenes video. It’s incredible to see what they do to get as many details as possible in the characters. Beyond: Two Souls will be gracing your Playstation 3′s this October.
If you aren’t a Conan O’Brien fan, well you should be. But you should at least be a fan of his ongoing series called Clueless Gamer. Conan isn’t a gamer, and never has been. But he reviews video games on the show, and they are always hilarious. The video past the is by far one of the best. Watch as he plays the upcoming Tomb Raider, dies repeatedly, and pervs on Lara. Enjoy!
I’m sure you’ve never heard that line before, right? Killzone Shadow Fall was recently announced alongside the Playstation 4, and they have steadily been releasing a decent amount of assets for the upcoming game. Head past the break to check out a new trailer for the exclusive Playstation 4 title.
I can’t say any more good things about the new Tomb Raider game. I’ve spilled my love for it all over the dance floor in every post I’ve done about it recently. So I will just sit back and let you enjoy the new Reborn trailer you can check out past the break. Tomb Raider comes out March 5th for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
On Valentine’s Day, Capcom paid tribute to Jill Valentine, one of the main characters from the Resident Evil games. Yes, I know I’m late with this. Forgive me, for the Internet is vast and awfully difficult to keep track of. If you’re not as familiar with Ms. Valentine as you’d like to be and you have around ten minutes to get to know her a little better, this is definitely worth watching. Even if you’re crazy familiar with her and the Resident Evil games, it’s still interesting to see her character change over the years, from STARS officer to the badass, skin-tight suit wearing superhero Jill we know and love/hate today. Any one remember that abortion ‘I Know Who Killed Me‘? Well lets hope Murdered doesn’t get as bad of reviews as I Know Who Killed Me did. Though BD gave it a 4/5? Moving on to the real reason we’re here, Square Enix just released the teaser trailer you can see below. All the details are vague and it seems they want to keep it that way for now. All we really know is in the game you are killed, and somehow, probably as a sexy ghost you have to solve your own murder.
The press release urges us to search for clues via Twitter, Facebook, and the Official Website for the game. Murdered: Soul Suspect is looking at an early 2014 release date on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
You’ve probably already heard about Destiny. If you haven’t, it’s Bungie’s newest game since passing on the Halo series to 343 Industries. Bungie is combining forces with Activision this time around who as you know are behind the Call Of Duty series. Bungie made the Halo Universe massive, and they aren’t dialing it back one bit for Destiny. They plan to have a huge social aspect to the game. Where you could be exploring the massive universe in your game and come across other online adventurers in theirs. But it sounds like it will be so much more than what you would experience in an MMO. And it’s loaded with what Bungie is known for. Awesome FPS action. Head past the break for the reveal video, incredible game art, and lots more on the game!
And by that I mean when I watch it I get over come with the feeling of “Coming Soon” perhaps to a theater near me? Video game trailers nowadays are getting more and more kick ass. They’re more professional and feel more and more like they aren’t just video games but movies as well. Past the break you can check out the all new Lamb Of Columbia trailer for BioShock Infinite. The game will finally be arriving a little over a month from now on March 26th for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
I can rhyme, now so can we. The Journey Through Terror video series is going very in depth on the Dead Space series as a whole. The latest video Part 3 in the series focuses on atmosphere, the use of mining tools over conventional weapons, Isaac’s suits, and the importance of stasis and kinesis. Check out the video past the break!
