I’ve been an avid watcher of the Final Hours Of Tomb Raider video series. Tomb Raider is probably the number 1 game I’m looking forward to, so I’m pretty excited for anything I can watch about it. Well in this latest Final Hours video they show you all about the unexpected multiplayer aspect of the new Tomb Raider. There is an entire team at Eidos Montreal dedicated to the multiplayer so you know it isn’t just a tacked on multiplayer. Check it out past the break!
Gearing up for the January 18 release, Universal has released a new behind-the-scenes clip from Mama, the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror thriller about a group of feral children raised by something sinister. The video features interviews with Del Toro, Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau along with some new footage!
“Five years ago, sisters Victoria and Lilly vanished from their suburban neighborhood without a trace. Since then, their Uncle Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and his girlfriend, Annabel (Jessica Chastain), have been madly searching for them. But when, incredibly, the kids are found alive in a decrepit cabin, the couple wonders if the girls are the only guests they have welcomed into their home. As Annabel tries to introduce the children to a normal life, she grows convinced of an evil presence in their house. Are the sisters experiencing traumatic stress, or is a ghost coming to visit them? How did the broken girls survive those years all alone? As she answers these disturbing questions, the new mother will find that the whispers she hears at bedtime are coming from the lips of a deadly presence.”
Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier, Isabelle Nélisse and Daniel Kash all star. The pic is based on a short of the same name and was directed by Andres Muschietti from a script he wrote with Barbara Muschietti. Head inside for the clip! READ MORE
OMG JK but seriously, Kinectimals, lame name. How about a Kinect exclusive for Dead Space called Kinectomorphs? Moving on. Past the break you can check out a video for Dead Space 3 that shows you how cool the Kinect can actually be in game. There are a number of basic game play commands but what makes things a lot smoother are the multiplayer commands. “Give partner ammo” or “give partner stasis” for instance. Check it out past the break, February is closing in!
Magnet Releasing will unleash John Dies at the End (review), the sci-fi/horror movie from horror icon Don Coscarelli (Phantasm, Bubba Ho-Tep) On-Demand tomorrow. To that end, I recently sat down with Coscarelli and star Paul Giamatti (Sideways, “John Adams”) to talk about what attracted them to such strange material. For Coscarelli, it was chance. For Giamatti, well, he connected with it immediately.
“In ‘John Dies at the End’, it’s all about the Soy Sauce, a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. Users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John (Rob Mayes) and David (Chase Williamson), a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No.No, they can’t.”
If you read the sexy co-op REVIEW Adam and I did of Deadlight, then you know the game mildly amused us, and then slowly fell off a cliff. Well this fan made film by You Tube user Jason Forge never falls off. Incredibly narrated, just as well as the game with awesome graphics and zombies. Check it out!
The new Tomb Raider is worlds different than its predecessors. Worlds better from the look of it. In this new video series we learn a lot about the game and its new features. Including many RPG elements, upgrading weapons and tools, collecting items and scrap to upgrade them and more. Head past the break to see the Tomb Raider – Guide To Survival Part 1.
“Better with Kinect” is becoming a surprisingly popular slogan. Dead Space 3 is going to be one of those games with Kinect support. Also Destructoid is reporting you have 2 avenues of pre ordering the game that will get you some hot bonus action. Pre order at GameStop to get the EG-900 Sub Machine Gun, and Amazon gives you the Enervator. It sounds a bit more brutal than the EG-900 and I must admit I’m a way bigger Amazon fan. Head past the break for a new trailer showing you 2 ways to play the game.
The Secret World kicked quite a heavy load of baggage off of its subscribers shoulders. That baggage is the paid subscription. I must admit I was friggen pumped for The Secret World. But once that one month free trial ended, the honeymoon was over. It wasn’t cheap to keep the fun going, so I put the game on hold until I could set aside some time to make paying for the subscription worth while. Well, now I don’t have to worry about it! And neither do you. Buy the game, play FREE FOREVER. They do have a monthly subscription you can still get. With it you get: “10 USD/EUR per month which can be spent in the in-game store, the ‘Time Accelerator’ item that grants double experience gain for one hour each day, a fixed 10% discount to everything in the in-game store, and more.” Check out a video past the break!
Warner Bros. has just blasted out the first official trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim, and it looks EPIC! I rarely go all-caps like that, but it looks like Del Toro has been given the ultimate sandbox to play in and he built the ultimate castle. Also added in a super sweet teaser banner and official one-sheet.
In the film, “When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.”
The battle begins on July 12, 2013. Head inside to check it out!! READ MORE
Is it too soon for a new Gears Of War game? In the opinion of some, it’s never too soon. I look at Gears Of War: Judgement like Halo: ODST. The main storyline is done (for now) so let’s reach a little into the past and build on a great story. Check out the 2012 VGA trailer for Gears Of War: Judgement past the break. Judgement comes out March 19th exclusively for the Xbox 360.
Possibly my most anticipated game of 2013 right now is the new Tomb Raider. It consistently impresses me with everything I see. It’s dark, gritty, and real, and that in my opinion is going to rejuvenate the hell out of the series. Head past the break to check out the trailer that was shown last night at the 2012 VGA’s, and don’t forget to pre order Tomb Raider. It comes out March 5th for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
Dark Matter takes place on a derelict spaceship that is overrun with aliens and possibly something worse. The game is a side scroller much like many we have seen in recent years on Xbox Live and Steam. This one however allows you to use your mouse while playing to explore even more. It has quite a bit more interactivity in the world than other games like it. Check out the gameplay below to see what I’m talking about. Dark Matter is looking at a 2013 release on the PC. It’s awaiting approval on Steam Greenlight, so if you’re interested head over there and vote.
This guy used to be the Commander of the metro station. He used to have the respect of the soldiers he commanded. He also used to have a lot less bruises on him, but that was before he got the crap beat out of him for closing the doors to the metro station when the bombs fell and people wanted in. He made that call, and now he’s paying for it in blood. If you’re having a bad day, just think of this poor sap who made the call to close the doors, locking himself in with the survivors who still had loved ones outside. Watch him get kicked around in Metro: Last Light’s final survivor story, after the jump.
I friggen love Kickstarter. It helps bring to life many things that otherwise may never see the light of day. One of those things is a game by the name of The Last Door. It’s a pixelated point and click horror adventure you’ll be able to play for free on the PC so long as it gets finished. You can play some teaser game play right now over at TheLastDoor.com to get an idea of what you’re in for. Past the break for more info and a trailer.
Bad Kids Productions just released the first Bad Kids Go To Hell, starring Judd Nelson and directed by Matthew Spradlin. December 7th the 2012 Spike TV VGA’s will be not only celebrating this years amazing games, but with it usually comes a lot of kick ass trailers. Below you can check out a teaser for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. It’s one of those “ugh why are they even giving us a teaser” type of trailers. But I’ll let you guys check it out and maybe it will get you excited for the real one.
Scoring the upcoming Tomb Raider game is the magically talented Jason Graves. He is the mind behind the horrific nightmarish sounds you heard in Dead Space. In the video you van check out past the break Zachary Levi (Chuck) again takes us behind the scenes. He travels to London to (BAFTA) the British Academy of Film and Television Arts headquarters and talks to Jason Graves about his work on Tomb Raider. Graves even shows off an instrument constructed by sculptor Matt McConnell specifically for use in Tomb Raider. Check out the video past the break!

The world can be a tough place for a model, or rather, it could be, should we find ourselves in the middle of a terrifying apocalypse. Publisher THQ has released a brand new live-action trailer for the game that focuses on the struggles of a fallen model, who after the apocalypse is forced into prostitution for bullets — the currency in Metro: Last Light. It’s a very cool video, if not a little uncomfortable to watch (in a good way, if that’s possible). Click that adorable Read More link to check it out, that way we can get uncomfortable together.
Millenium/Nu Image’s Spiders 3D has a brand new clip in advance of its appearance at The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival. In the film, “following the crash of a derelict Soviet space station into a Manhattan subway tunnel, a new species of spider is discovered in the wreckage. Directed by Tibor Takacs (The Gate, Ice Spiders), Spiders 3D also stars Christa Campbell, Jon Mack, William Hope and Sydney Sweeney. Head inside to check it out! READ MORE
I’ve been excited for Far Cry 3 since I saw the first trailer. I’m definitely very excited about it. But after seeing this video for the map editor, holy shit am I pumped. There is tons you can do, and while I love forging in Halo sometimes it’s nice to switch it up. Building towns on a beautiful island, building your own death trap animal filled multiplayer maps to murder your friends on? Oh yes. Check out the trailer past the break, and look out for the game releasing November 30th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
In most movies, tv shows, video games, real life situations etc you see a raver. Not someone tripping balls and playing with glowsticks, but some one raving that the end is near, etc etc. Most people just ignore them. Until it’s too late. The trailer you can check out past the break shows how people turn to religion maybe a little too late. Metro: Last Light will be released sometime next year on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
There are a lot of multiplayer games out there nowadays. It’s even harder to introduce one into the mix without it failing miserably. Far Cry 3′s multiplayer looks pretty fun, but will it be able to stand up to the likes of Halo and Call Of Duty? I truly doubt it, but it could be fun to play while it lasts. Check out the multiplayer video past the break, and look out for Far Cry 3′s release November 30th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
The Crysis series has always looked incredible. Like it was born on a console from the future and brought back in time for us to enjoy. Crysis 3 is looking incredible, and the video below definitely shows that off. When things as normal and mundane as grass look better than most games in general you can’t help but get excited. Check out “The Fields” gameplay below.
Crysis 3 is looking at a February 2013 release on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
