The great Vincent Price was many things. He was a legend, and one of the most iconic faces in all of horror, even to this very day. He was a visionary who possessed a rare talent for fear that even Scarecrow would respect. But a child abductor? In this fictional sense it would seem so, as the actor’s image will be put into the character of a desperate man who could do the unthinkable in order to survive in Blue Water Press’ 35th issue of “VINCENT PRICE PRESENTS”. I don’t think that there has been a single issue of Blue Water Publishing’s “VINCENT PRICE PRESENTS” that I haven’t gotten some sort of enjoyment out of. Every issue is crisp, interesting, and very respectful of its namesake. Inside you can read the first 6 pages of the newest issue in the series set to drop this coming Wednesday. A little while back we did a very positive exclusive advance review of Mark Miller’s (‘VINCENT PRICE PRESENTS: THE TINGLER’) next Vincent Price inspired tale titled ‘WITCHFINDER GENERAL’. At the time the issue was scheduled for a February 24th release date, but unfortunately due to reasons out of Mark’s control the issue has been pushed back to an undisclosed summer release date. More news as it becomes available. However, if it is some ‘VINCENT PRICE PRESENTS’ goodness you crave then read on beyond the break for a 5 page preview of the April issue!

When Mark Miller (“VINCENT PRICE PRESENTS”) released his original sequel to Vincent Price’s grossly overlooked “THE TINGLER” it was a major treat for those who grew up on classic horror fare from the master of horror himself. Since then Mark’s work on the “VINCENT PRICE PRESENTS” series has been some of the most intriguing and nostalgia inducing reads in comics. So when Mark shot me an e-mail last month and asked me if I’d like to preview and review the latest entry, “WITCHFINDER GENERAL”, he didn’t have to twist my arm very hard. If you’re not familiar with Vincent Price Presents, consider it a throwback to the one shot horror comics like Tales from the Crypt or Creepy. This December on it’s 13th issue, fans will be in for a treat. The issue tells another story about Dr. Phibes, a classic Price character. The series has been pretty fun and I think it’s cool they are doing throwbacks to Price’s filmography. What do you think…cool or damnation?

Around a year ago, Vincent Price Presents came to the comic book world from Bluewater Productions. I remember thinking it was kind of weird for Vincent Price to do anything since he’s been dead for about a decade. Well not even the sweet embrace of death can stop Mr. Price from chilling us to the core. Presents is in the same vein as Creepy or Tales From The Crypt with Price as a host to a set of scary stories. I’ve read a couple of issues and I actually really liked it a whole lot more compared to the so so stories of the new Tales From the Crypt. Bluewater Productions will be releasing a trade paperback of the past issues this September which would be a great time to check it out. More info after the break…
