TV: Poster For “The Walking Dead” Season 3 Shows The Prison Backdrop

Season 3 of The Walking Dead is approaching fast. Remember the key art last year that showed Rick running up to the farmhouse? This new one takes a similar approach in setting up the season’s backdrop.

In Season 3, premiering October 14, “Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and company will face a brand new threat – one that is very much human. While Rick and the gang are busy clearing out a prison in the hopes of transforming it into a protective fortress, not so far away is the town of Woodbury, Georgia, and its self-appointed leader, the Governor (David Morrissey).

AMC’s third season of “The Walking Dead” is in the midst of production and, while it will be a while before it starts airing, the network has not been shy about keeping the show on everyone’s radar. This behind-the-scenes video with Visual Effects Supervisor Victor Scalise shows a lot of cool stuff from Season 2, and hints a little bit about what’s to come in Season 3. Unfortunately since we’re still some months off from the show’s premiere we’ll have to wait to see any actual footage.

The show, “tells the story of the weeks and months that follow a pandemic zombie apocalypse. TV: Lennie James Talks Possible Return To “The Walking Dead”, If His Schedule Will Allow It. (Comic-Con Panel Info Added)

Update: San Diego Comic-Con panel highlights added inside!

Is this the return of the Season 1 left-behinds? We all know that Michael Rooker’s Merle Dixon will be coming back for The Walking Dead Season 3. Now Lennie James (Snatch), who heartbreakingly portrayed Morgan Jones in the Pilot Episode (having to shoot his zombie wife – ouch), is saying the producers have occasionally reached out to him to come back but he’s been too busy.

He tells Digital Spy, “It remains a possibility I could return. The character I played is away for a long time, so it’s kind of up to them whether I stay away or if I come back. There have been a few back and forth conversations and they check up on me every now and then. I had a fantastic time working on the pilot with Andy Lincoln and especially Frank Darabont. He’s somebody that I’d directorially always wanted to work with and I’m glad I got the opportunity.

James added, “There’s a possibility I might go back. It just depends on timing-wise if I’m free. At least one of the times they contacted me about it, I was busy doing something else.

Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) returns this fall alongside newly added Michonne (Danai Gurira) and the villain known simply as The Governor (David Morrissey). READ MORE
