I’m going to be honest: the first issue of “WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BARON VON SHOCK?!” was a brutal read, and not the good, gory, fun type of brutal. And while the flagship issue of shock rocker Rob Zombie’s (“HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES”, “THE DEVIL’S REJECTS”) was a letdown one can only hope that the second issue in the mini-series from Image is a step in the right direction. (Though, from the looks of it, that isn’t the case) Inside you can read the first 5 pages of the issue that goes on sale Wednesday. Also, be warned that this is most definitely NSFW.

This week shock rocker, film director, and comic book scribe Rob Zombie (“THE NAIL”, “THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO”) returns to the industry with his newest title “WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BARON VON SHOCK?!” from Image Comics. Like him or not, the scribe has become a fixture of the horror community, and many are looking forward to the title’s May 26th release date. So, for those of you who just can’t wait any longer, if you make the jump you can read the 9 page preview of the first issue that goes on-sale this Wednesday. Today via his official Twitter account, Rob Zombie (“THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPER BEASTO”, “THE NAIL”) offered readers a 4 page preview of his newest comic book series from Image Comics titled “WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BARON VON SHOCK?!”. The title is slated for a May 26th release date, and inside you can find the entire R Rated preview of the story from the rocker. For those of you who might be at work or under the age of 16, you might want to A) wait until you’re back home, or B) lock the door to your bedrooms before making the jump. Like his work or not, Rob Zombie has never been scared to show his audience an uncompromising glimpse of the depravity of men rather than monsters. His work in such comics as “THE NAIL” and “THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO” have been nothing short of entertaining, and while his work on the “HALLOWEEN” film franchise have left a rift in his fanbase I think there is still one point which the majority can agree: his comic books kick ass!
