New Jersey metal outfit Beyond Dishonor have released a Breaking Bad-inspired music video for their new single “Heisenberg”. Directed by Mitch Martinez, the video features shady laboratories, sleazy executives, and more. You can watch the video after the jump.
Vocalist Reese Dunlap comments, “It’s an obvious homage to one of our favorite pieces of entertainment, but it is wrapped around a stronger metaphor – just as Walt perfects the formula against his better judgement, so too are we forced to find and perfect the formula for notice and respect in this tumultuous industry and genre. That theme is referenced throughout the song, and goes one step further in the video, where we are, in a sense, a victim of this formulaic control. It is only when we have ‘perfected the formula’ that we can finally escape mediocrity.”
Beyond Dishonor will also be releasing a new EP entitled Generations this June. The EP was produced by Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder, Impending Doom). The band is also heading on a short tour and will be supporting Miss May I on several dates. The full touring schedule is below. READ MORE

Death metal band Six Feet Under has announced that they will be releasing their new album Unborn on Mar. 19th via Metal Blade Records. To celebrate this announcement, the band has released a lyric video for their newest single “Zombie Blood Curse”, which you can watch below. You can also pre-order the album here.
Vocalist Chris Barnes states, “The journey to create, write, and record Undead and Unborn has been the most challenging and exciting musical endeavor and process I have ever been involved with. Working with all these amazing writers and musicians like Ben Savage (Whitechapel) on songs like Neuro Osmosis and Fragment are some of the most dynamic, beautiful, and brutal songs I’ve ever had the pleasure of putting lyrics to. I believe Ben is a true innovator of the death metal genre. It was also a lot of fun working Jari Laine from Torture Killer again. We wrote a great album together a few years back called SWARM! –one of my favorite releases I’ve been involved with– and Jari is someone who I have really wanted to work with again ever since. I wanted to revisit collaborating with Jari because of how well we work together; proof of that on Unborn are the hook heavy sounds of songs like Zombie Blood Curse and Incision.” READ MORE

Slo will remain a member of Unearth moving forward and is actively involved in the writing process for our next album, which we plan to record and release some time in 2013.
“Luckily, our long time friend Matt DeVries (Fear Factory, ex-Chimaira) will be taking over bass duties for the tour.”
DeVries added, “I couldn’t be more excited to be filling in on bass for my long time friends in Unearth on the upcoming Brothers Of Brutality Tour. They are like family to me and I’m extremely happy to step up to the plate for my good buddy Slo! READ MORE
A video entitled “Exposing Metal Bands (satanic illuminati) PART 1″ from user AprilAndWayneShow has been slowly gaining interest on YouTube (as of this posting, the video has over 70k views). The video takes several metal bands, including Whitechapel, Veil of Maya, Suicide Silence, and more, and “proves” that their music, their visuals, and their lyrics all promote the worship of Satan and steer people away from the one true religion: Christianity.
Rife with spelling and grammar errors, the video and the “proof” is full of holes. For instance, in trying to convince the viewer that the musicians are possessed by the Devil, the video uses quotes directly from musicians such as “…It’s like a mysterious energy that comes from the metaphysical plane and into my body. It’s almost like being a medium…” (Marc Storace of Krokus) or, “…I’ve always considered tha there was some way where we were able to channel energy, and that energy was able to be, from another source, if you like, like a higher power or something, that was actually doing the work.” (Bill Ward of Black Sabbath).
Notice that neither of these quotes discusses whether it is God or Satan that is the “energy”. It’s simply the fact that these are metal musicians that makes them inherently evil.
The joke of a video can be seen below along with another video that, for as amusing as it is, is also very applicable in this situation. READ MORE

Knoxville, Tennessee’s Whitechapel have just released the new track ‘The Darkest Day of Man,’ off of the bands 3rd full-length release (second for Metal Blade), A New Era of Corruption due out June 8th. “The first single we have released from the new album A New Era of Corruption is titled ‘The Darkest Day of Man’ (which can be heard HERE). We played it live during our overseas touring at the beginning of this year in Australia and the UK and were getting a great response from the crowd for it. I feel this song perfectly demonstrates how we have progressed as a band musically and in our song writing, but have not stepped away from our signature Whitechapel sound,” comments guitarist and founding member Alex Wade.
Tennessee’s deathcore act Whitechapel have announced the track listing as well revealed the artwork for the upcoming third full length “A New Era Of Corruption”. The album features artwork done by Brent Elliot White who has also done album covers for bands Carnifex and Job For A Cowboy. “A New Era Of Curruption” also features guest spots by Vincent Bennett Of The Acacia Strain and Chino Moreno of Deftones. The album is due out June 8th and will be released through Metal Blade.
