Revolves around a police officer (Grillo) and a psychologist (Bello) investigating the deaths of five people who were killed while trying to summon a ghost.

The film centers on the aftermath of a horrific massacre: five college students, brutally murdered inside a decrepit, abandoned home. Fresh on the scene, detective Mark Lewis and the police department’s psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Klein (Bello), question one of the few survivors who explains they were amateur ghost-hunters, seeking out paranormal phenomenon at the abandoned house, believed to be haunted. But what started out as a harmless activity turned into something truly terrifying, and the suspect claims the responsibility doesn’t lie with any of the inhabitants, but with the house itself. Dimension Films announced out of the American Film Market that they’re in pre-production on House of Horror, which is to be produced by Saw and Insidious helmer James Wan.

Max La Bella penned the screenplay for Wan, with Will Canon attached to direct. Maria Bello is not confirmed to star at this point.

“In the aftermath of a horrific massacre, lead Detective, Mark Lewis, and the police department’s psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Klein, question a suspect for the brutal murder of five college students. THE (D)EVIL MADE HIM DO IT.”

New Director Found For James Wan’s ‘House of Horror’ Project!

Now that Frontier(s) and The Divide‘s Xavier Gens is off the project, we got exclusive word that Will Canon (Brotherhood ) is in talks to get behind the camera for Dimension Films’ quasi-found footage House of Horror, which is presented by Saw and Insidious director James Wan from a screenplay by Max La Bella.

“In the aftermath of a horrific massacre, lead Detective, Mark Lewis, and the police department’s psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Klein, question a suspect for the brutal murder of five college students. THE EVIL MADE HIM DO IT.”

Maria Bello is still said to be in talks to star as Dr. Elizabeth Klein, as we previously reported.
