The lineup for California Metalfest 6 has been released and it is packed full of heavy bands. Included is headliner Killswitch Engage who will be performing their 2002 album Alive Or Just Breathing in its entirety for the first time ever in celebration of its 10th anniversary. The event will be held at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA on Saturday, November 24th. WWE superstar “Mankind” Mick Foley will be hosting the event along with several other TBA special guests. Tickets for the event can be found here.

So being that I haven’t had cable or basic TV channels for about 17, almost 18 years, I had never heard of MTV’s Made, a show which takes people who have a dream, supplies them with a ” made coach”, and helps them achieve their dream.

In an episode that aired on Monday night, 16-year old Julia aspires to become a metal singer in an effort to attain a sense of self-confidence that has been destroyed by constant bullying, both in school and on the Internet. Her coach was The Agonist‘s vocalist Alissa White-Gluz, and cameos from Iwrestledabearonce and Winds Of Plague can also be seen. The video is nothing less than entertaining and features a bunch of gore and zombies. “Being a big fan of both horror films and Halloween we wanted to do a video to tie into both.” Says vocalist Johnny Plague. “We created a video set in a post apocalyptic era… Not too long into the video you realize the cause of the end of society as we know it, ZOMBIES! I play the role of zombie slaying bad mother fucker roaming the dessert looking for salvation. Instead I find a shack infested with all sorts of evil. To capture this horror based music video I recruited my people at Knotts Scary farm. Designer Brooke Walters as well as a legion of monsters. Winds of Plague have released a video for Drop the Match, which comes off their latest album, Against The World. The video plays out almost like Sin City, with three chapters and highly stylized visuals. They also played upon some very standard serial killer stereotypes (seriously, just look at the names of the five serial killers in the first chapter). As I Lay Dying have released a video for ‘Anodyne Sea’ off their latest album, ‘The Powerless Rise’ exclusively on CraveOnline.com. Apparently, a new form of video technology was created specifically for this video in which a Nikon D7000 HD-SLR camera and a Teradek Cube were attached to a helmet to create the “first-person” illusion. Funny, haven’t I seen that before in Smack My Bitch Up (careful, that link is NSFW)?

Winds Of Plague have confirmed that they will be participating in the 2011 Warped Tour. You can check below to see a video of their kooky Christmas hijinks during the December Decimation Tour as well as hear a snippet of one of their new songs, ‘Refined In The Fire’.

From Winds Of Plague: ”The Warped Tour has been an event I have been attending since I started going to shows and needless to say, I have always wanted to participate in it, so we are very excited to say the least. Warped has always been known for the eclectic lineups and I am anxious to get in front of a new crowd and continue to build the WOP army. As I Lay Dying have announced their first 2011 headlining tour with direct support coming from Winds Of Plague and After The Burial (interview here). The tour, which lasts over a month, will include many cities that As I Lay Dying hasn’t been to in several years. The band’s latest album, ‘The Powerless Rise’, came out Nov. 9th. If you’re planning on hitting up one of these shows, let us know which one and how long it’s been since you’ve seen AILD.

Winds of Plague are busy decimating the weak across North America as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival all summer long while continuing to write material for their much anticipated new album. Jonny (vocals) checks in with the following Mayhem Fest report: “The first three shows on Mayhem have been mind blowing. It has been nothing but huge turn outs and absolutely insane shows. The Mayhem crowd definitely knows how to fuck shit up. From Oompa Loompas to Jager girls and everything in between, the Mayhem experience is one of a kind and I strongly suggest a fan of any kind of heavy music to make it out to a show. We have been pretty busy out here but have managed to continue working on new material and immediately following the tour will enter the studio with Grammy Award winning producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed) to record our third release.

Winds of Plague acclaimed drumming sensation, Art Cruz, is currently a featured artist in Drum! Los Angeles based The Ghost Inside are readying their new album The Returners for a June 8th release on Mediaskare Records. Returners boasts the band’s most developed and anthemic material yet, guaranteed to set off fist pumping and sing-alongs at any show. The new album also features guest vocals from Brendan Foley of Betrayal, Tommy Green of Sleeping Giant and Mat Bruso (ex Bury Your Dead). Speaking on the spots vocalist Jonathan Vigil revealed “Well, were good friends with the band Betrayal and we all really like Brendan’s voice and we asked him and he was down to do it. Basically, it’s the same thing with Tommy from Sleeping Giant, except we specifically wanted him for the song “The Conflict” because of what the song is about and how it deals with the two sides of Christianity in the hardcore scene. Lastly, Shane (Frisby) who produced our record is really good friends with Mat Bruso and he called in a favor. Mat poured Coca-Cola all over himself in the vocal booth. It was awesome.” READ MORE
