Robert’s latest creation, Crawl to Me, is an honest-to-god horrifying tale that brings to light the true horrors that exist in our world. Seriously, this is one beautiful book with a concluding chapter that will shock you to the core. When we previewed the first issue of “WIRE HANGERS” last month, I mentioned the very impressive visuals that the artwork lent to the story. But this month I have to ask: am i the only one who sees striking similarities to Ben Templesmith’s (“CHOKER”, “30 DAYS OF NIGHT”) character artwork in “CHOKER”? Maybe I’m just losing it, after all I do read 15 to 20 comics a week, but the second I saw the following preview I had to double-check and make sure the artist wasn’t doing a guest spot for the title. In any event inside you can read the first 5 pages of the second issue before it drops tomorrow.
It would seem like there isn’t anything Alan Robert (Frontman, “LIFE OF AGONY”) can’t do artistically. He can sing, he can write, and damn can he draw a comic book page. Earlier this year we broke the news that the rocker would be releasing an all new comic book mini-series from publisher IDW with “WIRE HANGERS”, and now that we are on the eve of the release of the first issue what better way to get you amped up than to show you the first 5 pages? It’s always a weird and often times tumultuous transition from music to comics, but not one that has not been done successfully in the past. The biggest example of this would probably have to be the genre veteran Rob Zombie, who even founded his own company with Steve Niles (“30 DAYS OF NIGHT”). Now another hard rocking frontman looks to make the leap as Life of Agony singer/songwriter Alan Robert’s “WIRE HANGERS” looks to debut in April from IDW Comics. Inside you’ll find the details, as well as a few pieces of art from the inside of the newest slasher title to come from IDW.
